Hands down best cookbook I own. I collect them and this has become my new favourite. That’s a tall order to fill. I own a lot. This book is jammed pack with pictures, interesting stories and recipes you’ve never seen or updated classics you’ll fall in love with. It will impress the most seasoned chef to a first time cook. You’ll want to cook everything at once to impress your family and friends. Bravo to Steve and Kathy!

A lovely book of recipes that make the Doocy family & friends feel all happy inside, and the stories/memories that surround these homemade delights. A most enjoyable "read" for a cookbook. A great style: first the prologue to the recipe and then the recipe...loved it and makes it most enjoyable to read through in a short amount of time. Adds "spice" to the recipes they share. The recipes are some of the great old "comfort foods" of my past and Steve's writings are funny, truthful, transparent and hit home a lot! Definitely suggest you own this cookbook! A most enjoyable "read" for a cookbook. page turner for sure! and the recipes look delicious. there are many that I will try. i like the fact that many of the 'fried' recipes are actually baked. Great short stories with the recipes. I read the entire book before I tried a recipe - it was very interesting. A little too cheery for me, especially with the name dropping of celebrety conservative media personalities, but hey I'm west coast. A good collection of fairly tried and true Americana recipes.
