Dark Root - Each One Better Than the Last The latest installment of the Dark Root saga doesn't disappoint. Following the children and the Maddock sisters is always entertaining, and this story has only added to their incredible tale. Going further into the realm of magick, Aasheim continues to find new ways to captivate the reader and manages to keep the story fresh. Good start to the series! I gave this book 3 stars because I still have some issues with Maggie. She is still scared of everything. Even after visiting the Netherworld and returning home she acts like a young witch still. And why are the men always absent for most of the books. The women seem to be weak and uncertain without them. These sisters should be stronger if they're going to be raising the next generation. I hope the next book is better. Good start to the series! Worth waiting for I absolutely love this series. I've read the original dark root books and now the spinoff. It was a bit of a slow start but once it got going, it went and didn't stop. I was reading every chance I got. Creepy dolls and strange mirrors, not to mention more ghosts and a strange new neighbor. Definitely worth the read, I can't wait for the second book. I love this Author and this series. We are introduced to the third generation of witches in this book. Will the new generation learn to control their powers? Will Armand's grandson inherit his dark side? See how the one shared value of the Dark Root sisters works to fight the coming clouds of darkness. Of course, it's all a matter of family. Amazing I loved this first book of the conclusion to Dark Root. It was a wonderful journey with all of the old crew and their kids. I can't wait to see where they take the story in book 2. Magic It was so good to get everyone’s perspective of what’s going on and all the new characters added to the excitement of Dark Root. Maggie is definitely going to have her hands full with Montana and now that all the children are together let the magic begin 😁 bring on book 2!

We get a glimpse of what life with gifted children would be like. It's difficult to explain to a 4 year old, why magic is so very, very dangerous, without either scaring them out of their wits, or awakening their own innate ability, without the ability to comprehend their actions. No where as good as last series I was so excited for this spin off to come out. It was a huge disappointment. Did not like the ending. The son should have been explained to that he could of killed his sister..

I enjoyed the book and the storyline. The kids brought new problems and more fun. Not every mystery is resolved but now it is waiting for the next in the series. I really do hope in the next one that Paul and Shane are present through the whole book.

A jump of time A good read and it's nice to see maggie and Shane again along with the rest of the family. It will be great to see where the kids take things forward with the rest of the adults. A spooky start to this next series set in Dark Root. Old memories and ghosts coming back to haunt and the children using their powers before they've learnt right from wrong make this a wonderfully creepy book. Another awesome book by April Aasheim. Luna is a fascinating character and Montana is just as interesting. I am so ready for Nova to bring amazing surprises as Eve and Paul figure out their life at Dark Root...or if there is one together. Good stuff!

The next generation... This story starts to focus on the children. Interesting start, but there’s much more to go. I still hope there’s more to tell about Maggie and her sisters.

Great book As always April Aasheim wrote a page turner, I couldn't put this book down. The characters are so real, and having read the Dark Root series, so familiar. Worth reading. Not really about the children as they're toddlers still. Just an extension of Maggie and Dark Root's story. Not a lot happens compared to previous series finale. I read prior series, which I suggest doing before starting this series (although it isn't necessary). A good but not deep read I read prior series, which I suggest doing before starting this series (although it isn't necessary). A good but not deep read
