"If you want to bring about a radical change in society,do what your parents don't like." The quote with which the author, Mr. Joshi has started the book RRR is enough to predict that the book is a joyful and adventurous ride where we get to educate ourselves about the cultural differences between America and Nepal. I got to learn many life lessons from this book and I'm waiting to learn more from the next one. "If you want to bring about a radical change in society,do what your parents don't like." "Sir, American Embassy". Oh my God. I got the chills so many times toward the end of this book. It completely blew my mind. I know 100% that Rockin' Rollin'Rolpa will be one of my best reads of 2021. Isn't it just so great when you find one of those books that completely drags you in, makes you fall in love with the characters, and demands that you sit on the edge of your seat for every horrific, nail-biting moment of it? This is one of those books for me. And I must issue this book explores you to a thrilling adventure from Michigan(America) to Rolpa (Nepal) along with many twist and turns. The meat of this book is far more focused on the Social culture accompanying taboos, and its replacement. The novel spent some time actually exploring the romance between Lisa, Josh and Hope. Despite being weak on the romance, I really enjoyed it. But if you enjoy a solid background story with nail-biting twist and turn and adventure, you might enjoy it as much as I did. 4 stars. Exciting adventure, Detailed characterization, Weak romance, but very worth to read.

The only explanation is that these reviews are bought or extorted by the writer himself and he is shameless enough to do such a disgraceful thing as indicated by another review which stated that he forced his students to read and review his book. It is outrageous and unethical. I saw the reviews and bought the book and little did I know that I would have trust issues with goodreads. I would rather pull out all of my hair than read this book. Every word is a painful reminder of my money wasted. This book certainly has everything - misogyny, racism and a complete disregard for emotions. What it doesn't have is - good writing, plot or decency to not call itself a book. It's a shame goodreads doesn't have -5000000 stars. This book is the epitome of the disgustingly worst book in the universe and I am not even exaggerating.

Wow can't believe this is author's first book. Definitely reading book is not easy for me but while reading this book I didn't feel like hard to read. Impressed how author described about the culture of two different countries in simple way .Simple yet beautifully plotted the whole scenario. I recommend this book to all because it won't take much time to finish and you will get to learn and know alot about Nepalese and Americans culture. Wow can't believe this is author's first book. My brother got me this book from his school library for two specific reasons: 1. The author had visited his school where he talked highly of the book and his experiences. 2. My interest to learn more about the the region. Big disappointment!! It is hard to surpass the author's poor writing skills and get to the protagonist's story and experiences. "On the way, I asked Raghav to ask Hope about his Dream." A story of a twenty-one year old American boy who embarks on a short voyage to a remote place in Nepal despite his insouciance. As time evolves, he is amazed on his own about how his perception differs and way of thinking changes. Joshua Alberto Hamilton, 70's guy from Northern Michigan, is an only child to his parents which leaves him the whole time to be pampered. As time evolves, he is amazed on his own about how his perception differs and way of thinking changes. Joshua Alberto Hamilton, 70's guy from Northern Michigan, is an only child to his parents which leaves him the whole time to be pampered. He is quite average in every aspect of the field; be it in studies or sports. Just like a normal teenager, he goes on exploring his own humane features and experiences a typical American lifestyle. Not to surprise, he succeeds in making a girlfriend within his teenage years. Everything goes smoothly until one special day leads him to take a neophyte journey in his life. One thing leads to another and he ends up in a remote area; Rolpa of Nepal with a friend from Nepal with whom he bonded recently. You can expect the adventure already as Joshua had listlessness in visiting the land of Mount Everest or Lord Buddha, whatsoever. Neither he had any ambition or goals on the purpose of visit. As the story unfolds, he tastes varied flavors of experiences and life-time adventures. What happens when one's ways of thinking, eating, sleeping and even pooping change in the blink of time? Would that make any difference to his identity? Would it be a milestone in grooming up his personality? Or the bad, would it leave him devastated far away from home? Is intercultural exchange worth the experience? Two new friends, as their connection gets resilient than ever, they dare on taking some revolutionary steps against the orthodox system of society. The story will unfold every question adding to the ones mentioned. Personally, I really liked the metaphors used for 'Hope' and 'Dream'. I have had to tighten my seatbelt as some parts got really adventurous and thrilling. Not to forget, the hospitality aspect of Rolpa leaves you with sweet fragrance of Nepali culture. The honorable use and mention of Bob Seger's 'Kkkatmandu' and John Denver's 'Leaving on a jet plane' got me with an utmost pleasing vibes. The book makes you question, 'What would I have done if I was in the situation?' It makes you smile, binge the pages and keeps holding you till the very end. Nevertheless, I was craving for more of the adventure in Rolpa and knowing about an american lifestyle. It took a turn when the story clicked a love angle which is also another charming theme to it. The story ends with a hint to its sequel for which I am all up to give a read.

My favorite line from the book, which says,"No matter how smart you are,no matter how bookish you are,no matter how studious you are ,if you could not prove it on the right time and day,it was not going to pay you at all",inspires you to prove your capability,hard-work,determinationand excellence as a student at the very right time ,place and day.

One of the worst novel I have spent my money on. Was told to buy the book in school for a review. completed the book in a few days and found it to be the shittiest thing I have ever read. the story is too cringe and cheesy. the characters are badly developed there is no culture and backstory to the characters. anyways, read the book if you want to waste your hard-earned money.

The book shows a sharp contrast between the lavish American and rural Nepali lifestyles. However, I think the American life has been glorified a little too much in the book. The plot of the story is quite unrealistic too, I mean, who travels to a stranger land and stays there for 3 long months just because they lost a game of beer pong? Not a huge fan of the writing either. The author has tried his best to keep the sentences simple and make the book beginners friendly but the use of some unnecessarily complex words kills the whole motive. On the brighter side, the book has been able to show the warmth and beauty of Nepal, its culture and its people, beautiful friendships and a lot of adventure. The book is quite engaging and vivacious. There are inspirational quotes for the youth here and there throughout the story. Would recommend the book to young adults who are looking for a way to pass time at home during this pandemic.

Through a boy born and raised in America who visits Rolpa, a remote village of Nepal and eventually adapts its culture, the author has portrayed the contrast between the two cultures in a creative way. A book that I feel is a blend of adventure and humour has left me longing for the second part after it ended in a cliff hanger. I would be grateful if I would be able to get the sequel of this book from the amazing author himself like RRR1.

An AMAZING book! There truly is nothing more important than a person's self worth, and even though life brings difficulties, it teaches us how to see beauty in even the worst possible scenarios, and the way the author has been able to portray such a powerful message in a few hundred pages would probably have to be the highlight of this book.
