An easy and quick read while sitting in the kiddie pool during nap time for the kids. The main character, Catie, is a major pushover. There were times I felt the sex scenes were verging on rape with her saying, “No!” and Chad taking her anyway. But it was a mindless, easy read which is exactly what I needed.

Again another good.book in this great series, but Catie did get on my nerves a little being such a pushover but to bd honest you have to remind yourself that she is only 21 and still growing into herself. Chad was Chad in this story, funny, conflicted and downright hot.

I received a free copy of this book through my book club for an honest review. I was not crazy about the main characters. Catie was a bit of a doormat but she did manage to get a backbone, but Chad was a jerk throughout. Cut the last 2 paragraphs and Chad might have been redeemed for me, but he wasn't. This one did not work for me. Although the plot was interesting enough, I found myself extremely frustrated with both of the main characters. Catie was ultimately a doormat...she was so blinded by her love/crush for Chad that she let him walk all over her. Chad was just straight up a jerk. Being a player all his life, he came across as extremely selfish and immature. Towards the end of the book he was so incredibly insensitive and mean to Catie that I had a hard time excepting their HEA. Also, C This one did not work for me. It was almost like she was just so happy that he wanted her forever after that she completely overlooked what a giant ass he was. There was an apology, but it did not seem sincere to me and I would have liked to have seen Chad grovel and work for her forgiveness A LOT more! I did not read any of the other books in this series and although the main characters from the other books were in this one, I had no problem following the storyline so you don't need to start at the beginning with this series, they seem to be pretty good standalones.

I have been a fan of Helen’s for a while now & when I saw the chance to read some of her Temptation series books I was excited. The series doesn’t have to be read all together, and they can be read as standalones. She packs so much emotion and heart into her writing, I was very excited to see what she puts into Teasing Annie & Taking Catie. Although I skipped right to book #2, it wasn’t an issue not reading book 1 first. Both books were quick reads for me and tugged at my heart in so many ways. Although I skipped right to book #2, it wasn’t an issue not reading book 1 first. Both books were quick reads for me and tugged at my heart in so many ways. The series follows the McCray brothers and we get each of their stories in each book. I selected two that seemed the most interesting to me, and loved them both! I can’t wait to read the rest of this series now! I want more McCray’s! Teasing Annie In Teasing Annie we get Dallas’ story. He’s the oldest brother and is nervous about any possibility of a relationship due to his history with his ex wife. He is scared to fall into another trap and loveless relationship. Then he meets the new Veterinarian in town Annie and he begins to think things might be different with her. He guards himself, but also is so drawn to her he isn’t able to keep her away. Both characters are well developed and very loveable personalities. There is a little bit of angst, but nothing too over the top. Can he overcome his own doubts and just be with Annie without pushing her away? Taking Catie Taking Catie was a very fun read and different from Teasing Annie in many ways. In Taking Catie we meet Catie Bay. She has loved from a distance Chad McCray and when she fails at seducing him she leaves the country. She returns from Europe a few years later a traveled, worldly woman. Confident and secure in whom she is. Chad is defiantly not looking for anything serious, but when he sees her back in town, he is drawn to her and is very interested in just a roll in the hay. But when emotions get involved and things get heated, the just can’t seem to stay away. Their book was very different from Annie’s in their personalities. These two weren’t fun loving, fall in love with them characters. Annie does have a bit of a crush on him that blinds her in his behaviors. His personality for a good chunk of the book is not the best. But once things start to get going with them after she returns from Europe, they are both much more aware of each other and I found them more likeable as time went on in this story. *I received ARC copies of these titles at my request and am providing these voluntary reviews*

He has the mentality of a 14 year old 3. He is a complete jerk to the h and to other women 4. He is petty and petulant throughout 5. He is borderline psychotic and dangerously over-possessive 6. He is pre-1940s in his views about women! I cringed during the scenes that were supposed to be steamy and ended up skipping forward, especially when they were talking. Men don't talk the way this H was written and it just came across corny. Guys don't focus on the color of nipples. If the are a variation of brown, to a guy, that is brown. I nearly broke my phone when she told him about the pregnancy and he reacted like an abusive asshole. He continues to blame her for a broken condom and whines about how bad life is for him now for several chapters. He continues to be threatening to the h when any guy gets near her, then basically sexually assaults her against a wall which was disgusting. "You like it when I touch you there, don't you? This is a question he asks her while angry (angrier than when she told her that she was pregnant according to her just a couple of minutes earlier). How does that make you feel? Good Chad? Who do you belong too, Katie? You, Chad! Again, it comes across as a scare woman of an abusive spouse! The h was decent but let her crush behavior turn her into a doormat. The attempt to redeem the H failed and I continued to feel bad for the h throughout the story. There is no way that the h lives happily ever after as her psycho-abusive husband will end up murdering her for something trivial. I am going to read one more book from this author but if it follows the path that Teasing Annie and this book, I will not read anything else by her. Disappointed Male reader!

Then told her to get rid of it. But she wants to keep it so for the doctor to see if she's really pregnant he takes her to get married then demands sex after they get back and tell her she is going to be sleeping in the other room after tonight smh and he keeps throwing the pregnancy in her face. But I figured that Chad wanted Catie as much as she wanted him. Because he wouldn't have just up and marry her as Annie had mentioned to her. It had nothing to do with the baby. Though I am still upset she long their baby, I was so rooting for them to have a baby together. The way he was treating her was so wrong, I knew he was scared of falling in love with her and scared of wanting a kid, but he actually wanted both of those things. He was just too scared to admit to himself, and I was glad at the end when he finally realizes how he felt about Catie from the get-go when she wanted him when she turned 18, and he was 28. He went and chased after his wife, I was like Yass Chad you better go get your woman you know you love her. Btw; I hate his real name, Charles is one ugly flipping name UGH, glad they call him Chad smh. Sheesh, lol!

I love this saga each book is better then the next, and I can't wait to read book 4!

Young love turns into true love when Catie and Chad run into each other at the local watering hole. Catie has loved him since she was a little girl in pigtails and Chad has always thought of her as never grown up, but when she comes home from Europe he starts to think differently. ** This is book 3 of the Temptation Series. I recommend reading them in order** I really enjoyed Taking Catie. I initially did not really like Chad McCray, but by the end he had grown on me. I love Catie's innocence in this book. She was bound and determined to win over the love of her life. She was tired of playing games and had a lot to prove to win Chad over. They go through a tough time, but come out on top. Great story to show that you should never give up on love. Great job Helen Hardt. ** This is book 3 of the Temptation Series. Taking catie It was an absorbing quick romance book which is worth a re read. Reminded me of Miss Congeniality with Sandra Bullock but without the romance. However, I was left disappointed with the ending as my expectations were for cavities and Chad to head back home for a proper wedding. Otherwise, this book is a quick easy read with no high expectations and just enjoy it for what it is.

What have I been missing So when I first read this book I could not get into it and probably only made it about 2 chapters in. Well right now I’m awaiting the last book in Helen’s other series and decided to give it another go. OMG am I glad. I read this story in just over 24 hours and it kept me hooked the whole time. If you love Helen Hardt and her books then you must read this one.

This took it up a notch forward for me. Though this relates to Chad and Caitlin, their lives were portrayed a little more quirkier. It was a good read and prior characters are still mentioned in book, so you know what they have been up to as well. Personally, I found the ending a little overbearing in the prophesying of Chad’s love. A little too much for an ending. Overall, the series is good and preparing for next instalment. As always, am not a spoiler on contents. Enjoy

I really hate to give a good review. It’s difficult to enjoy a book when you dislike both of the main characters. Some of the plot was just ridiculous. The dialogue is not good. It’s just a cheesy, rushed, hot mess of a book. I wish we hadn’t already purchased the entire series because I would stop reading. Skip this series and read her Steel Brothers series. Those books are excellent.
