I keep reading this series... not sure why honestly. The writing isn’t that fantastic and there are quite a few discrepancies that just make my brain itch as I read. So I think I’m don’t with this series it’s just not worth only 100 pages of actual dialogue and forward momentum.

DNF 👎 1 disappointing star. Each subsequent book in this series has continued to rate lower than the previous thus far. I find myself swimming through pages filled with the minutiae that is the MC personal style & inner dialogue. The book lacks forward momentum & their is no romance to speak of. I will not be continuing this series. Pet peeve: Prudish virgin.

What??? First, this is way beyond a slow burn series, it's glacial. Second, the style is not magnificent. It glosses over important things. Explores the minutiae in endless detail and repeats large chunks of text. Third, all of the above could be overlooked if it wasn't for the shittiest ending ever. It's like the writer had run out of steam and just decided to stop and say they all lived happily ever after. There are enough questions left that there could have been another book. I have really been enjoying the Ariel Kimber Series until this book :-/ Unfortunately, this one just fell flat for me. Usually, I can really relate to Ariel's thoughts, feelings and actions, but during this book we just went in opposite directions. Where she was quiet, understanding and very forgiving, I was angry, unforgiving and quite frankly, a bit homicidal. This book was about Tyson, and I really struggled with liking him throughout the whole book and I couldn't understand Ariel at all because apparently, she did. She went and did one thing that she in her mind argued was the right thing to do and I was in complete disagreement. I did like Rain Kimber though. It was perfect that she got to meet him. Finally. I will continue reading this series because I really do like the characters.

I am very sad and disappointed. LOTS OF NOTHING. And if something interesting happens, it takes much less time than Ariel's silly monologues. Rain is a copy of Quinton. (YES! I find it kinky!) Honestly, I do not know why Ariel likes Quinton the most when she does not even live with him. She is physically attracted to him, but in the book, it is as if there is a lot more between them. Ariel was horrible, and there are still the passages how amazing she is. I guess I'll start to counting them. The other men I no longer differentiate because they behave similarly. Except for twins, but they almost did not appear in this book. I'd rather read 20 pages about searching Rain, rather than read 20 pages about Ariel's choice of outfit for the date. (Author's preferences are different.)

I have been waiting for this book, the fourth book in this amazing series. I love Ariel Kimber she is a complex mix of sweet and fiesty, I love how all her relationships with the guys are different. I love how she handles the panty thief Uncle Quint, her beloved Salt and Pepper twins who can be serious and comforting also bring out her playful side, her gorgeous Tyson who is her best friend, and Dash Damian and Jules whose relationships with Ariel are growing. A lot of inner dialogue. A lot of detail that could have been eliminated. We meet Ariel father, Rain. Annabelle makes an appearance, but I expected something bigger. Her appearance was a bit weak. There was so much build up when it came to Annabelle, but when we actually met her it was a let down.

Ariel's life has been complicated over the last few months. She finds out her abusive mother, who was killed by one of her boyfriends, wasn't actually her mother at all. She and another of her boyfriends were attacked and injured by a classmate. And oh yeah, she's a witch with magic and now has a coven with 7 males who will all ultimately be her men. Now the council is in town keeping a watch on her and she's trying to track down her bio-dad. Add in the return of a few people Ariel hoped to neve Ariel's life has been complicated over the last few months. Now the council is in town keeping a watch on her and she's trying to track down her bio-dad. Add in the return of a few people Ariel hoped to never see or hear about again and her life is stressful! The Ties That Bind covers a short, intense period in Ariel and her coven's life. Ariel and Dash have recovered from Chucky's attack physically but the mental scars linger. Ariel is still a mess. She internalizes way too much and worries non-stop. The girl overthinks everything! At times I want to shake her and make her appreciate the moment. This proves exactly how well written she is, she's so fully developed, so true to herself, so vivid, so genuine. I know how she will respond and what she will think in most situations. This is a complete character. We don't know the guys as well but we are learning more each wonderful book. Ariel gets a date with Damien along with a touch of Julian that is just lovely. Damien's thoughtfulness went a long way to proving his worth. Her interactions with Dash are increasingly sweet and her time with Quinton continues to be fiery. I can't get enough of this man! The Salt and Pepper twins aren't around much but when they are, they steal the conversation. I was not a fan of Tyson in this book. Don't get me wrong, I love this guy but I didn't like any of his choices. I don't like secrets, I don't like when someone decides to risk everyone to 'handle' things themselves, and I particularly didn't like who he was interacting with. It all just felt wrong to me. Rain makes his first dream appearance and his first visit. Daddy of the Year Candidate? Probably not. Psychopath? Quite possibly. Loves his daughter? I believe so. The fact that he is a fan of Quinton should say it all! I have to say I am intrigued with Rain, I am worried for Ariel (I don't want him to hurt her), and I enjoy his time with Quinton. The secrets he revealed about Ariel's family were fantastic. I look forward to more. This book completely captured my attention. I read through the night. The tension on the pages was palpable at times and I could not get myself to put the book down. Very enjoyable!

Well. I ended up skimming a bit at the end. I believe I forgot how much I didn't like the series until I sat down and read 1-4 in one sitting. The constant long detailed dialogue that repeats itself got annoying as crud. I especially disliked the whole, we read what Ariel thinks, then we read the same as she says it, then we read whoever interrupted the conversation asking what's going on, and it's explained again. That got old so quick. Things that irked me in book 4 specifically: Tyson being ex Well. I ended up skimming a bit at the end. The way how Ariel and Tyson agree to be partners, but they truly aren't, at all, because Tyson is a prick. Them, just them, all of it... I'm sick of it. They treat each other like siblings who go from being protective to being an asshole in the blink of any eye. Their arrogance in all things, all of them are arrogant. It's like they are all the same person in a different package. It's dumb. Where are the dynamics? Where are the different roles most men play in a RH? In these books, it just isn't working. Can't take 7 very similar guys and say "you are the sweet one, you the dick, you the teddy bear, you the healer... etc..." and then write them identical other than the label. It's not genuine to the character. How about the fact that without discussing it, and in the different POV, they all have the same thoughts? They want to work on their relationship before intimacy, I believe it was written using the exact same words even. Lame. 4 books in and I'm throwing in the towel. I would have continued, but for goodness sake, 4 books and there is barely anything romantic between anyone. All the "sizzle" is short lived and doesn't even have any heat. Falls so flat.

To much filler/fluff If you made it through book 3 you probably lowered your expectations for this series, which might be a good thing. This book and book 3 are full of fillers. By this is mean instead of saying she got dressed 3 pages is spent talking about her taking her shorts off, picking out clothes, putting her boots on, then putting her shorts in the hamper. So u think hey maybe what she's wearing will be important layer on? Nope not at all. I thought oh maybe that broke it and she will need it to work later, yeah once again nope. There is so much useless stuff to just skim through. The first 50ish percent of this book can just be plain skipped. It would have been much better to combine books 3 and 4, take out 50+ pages of inner monolouging and useless descriptions of things (ugh pillows) and make 1 kick butt book. Also we are on book 4 now with just a few kisses so far? There is slow burn and then there is no burn, this falls into no burn for me, besides the psycho guys (which I kinda like) and the whole killing people these books are clean enough for a pretty teen. If there wasn't so much descriptive crud maybe the plot and relationship building would actually go somewhere and we would see more them a handful of kisses after 4 stinking books. I'm holding out hope for the next book, but at the same time not holding my breath.

1st off I LOVE THIS SERIES. I really think of the book as a 3.5. But I want this series to grow and think in the other books great things will happen. I just dont want EVERY book to move along so slowly SPOILERS BELOW I just wished for more in this book. More action, and more scenes that moved Ariel forward Basically in this book Tyson is dealing with Annabel but doesnt want the other brothers to know but only lets Ariel know. I didn't like how he acted with Ariel to be honest when he thought he told his stuff to the others( he was far to pushy and rough with her). Then her father came to town. I liked Rain and liked him more after getting a POV on him. He truely loves her and would have loved her without magic. We find out his family is reallly special. Ariel goes on a date with Damien which I loved even if it was just at his house. Tyson puts a spell on Anabel to make sure she forgets him or something and Chucky gets killed by accident by Tyson. We find out Anabel is being used to breed with other witches and even Ariel's dad she suggest she marry so she is not used as a broadmare for the counsil. Finally I feel ( MAYBE its just me) But like book 3, this book had TOOOO MUCH inner dialogue. Like I get it, Its nice to know what the characters feel and thoughts, but I need dialogue. More scenes and less inner dialogue. For the next book I would like more action, more higher stakes. I get its a slow-burn RH, and book in genral but events need to be speed up. Maybe Ariel meets another young coven of guys or she meets guys that are in her dad's coven. Maybe her dad has other children(sons) for another marriage. Maybe some crazy coven kidnaps Ariel or erases Ariel's memory so she hates the guys. maybe she goes to regular college. IDK. i just need more higher stakes. things are moving to slow. Again- its hard to write a book. I know.Especially you cant make every reader happy.

Before I begin, I gotta say I LOVED seeing Ariel spend time with Dash *Blushing* I dunno what it is about him but he is just *Sigh* so sweet. I also loved Ariel starting to date the other guys she hasn’t bonded with. We see the bonds she has with Her Salt & Pepper Twins, Uncle Panty Thief, Tyson, and even Dash but Her date with Damien…seriously put him on my radar!!! Then her time with Julian even if it was brief…..Yeah I loved it!! You guys so much happens in this book…like for real…so much. Rain makes an appearance and I am still not sure if he is the wonderful Father Ariel is hoping for OR a Sociopath…like I am on the fence and you will be too when you read this book. We see more of the Council, Chucky and even *GASP* Annabelle appears in this book. *Grumbles under my breath about that skank*. But the biggest reveal comes when we find out about Ariel and her Biological Witch Family….WHOOOOOOO that is some heavy stuff!!! But I think learning more and more about the Council gives me the chills because Ariel is gonna have some serious problems if they find out her true nature as are her seven coven boyfriends! I cannot wait for more because this series is getting just so much better and more complex with each story!!

The Ties That Bind is the fourth book in the Ariel Kimber series and it's just as good as the other books, if not better. The Ties That Bind moves the story along with some more development of just who Ariel is. There's a new character introduced whom I really liked, I can't wait to learn more about him in the next book. We also get to the end of one storyline in the series and another is potentially closed, although I think something might come back up again about it in the future. We get to learn more about Damien in this book as does Ariel. I love all seven of the guys, not one of them is boring or forgetful as they all have something about them that gives them life. The author has done a great job in building them and ensuring none of them fade into the background. I really am enjoying and love this series, reading this book I felt like I was falling back into a conversation with an old friend. I love the character development and the world building. I feel like I could wax lyrical about this series forever but then this review would get boring as I'd be repeating myself. I'm going to end this by saying go out and grab yourself a copy, it's a great five star read and I loved it. I'm pretty sure you will too.

I received a copy of this book from the author for an honest review. Oh Nellie this was jammed pack. Ariel discovered her real father was out there. Then we do get to meet Rain, Ariel’s father, to be honest I am not sure what to think of him. I loved to see Ariel and the guy’s relationship grow. Even though they all have trust issues after being hurt in their past we are learning more about each of them. I like how we are learning about the guys along with Ariel. Each of them has a different personality and Ariel reacts to them all differently. I have to say my heart is opening more toward Damien. Tyson made me sad when he asked Ariel to keep secrets from others. This book kept my attention and was hard to set down. I am intrigued to see what will happen next and to see Ariel and her coven learn more about each other and grow closer. A few of my favorites The girl has a serious mouth that she had no problem popping off whenever the mood struck her (and it stuck her often enough), but being mouthy and unafraid to speak your mind were a whole lot different. I don’t think you know how to just be. Be in the moment. Be happy. To just breathe and not have to be fighting for something or fighting off someone.

I read the first two books a while back and recently did a re-read to include books 3 and 4. I love the idea of these books, but not the actual reading of them. The writing often gets bogged down in mundane step-by-step descriptions (e.g. a full page dedicated to Ariel getting dressed to go look for the cat with descriptions of what, why, and how she puts on her clothing). I often found myself skipping over whole paragraphs just to get to the next step in the plot. The only way I can justify in my mind why she stays with this coven of explosive males is that she's used to abusive behavior...which is not healthy! That being said, I love the concept of the book. With the introduction of Ariel's dad, the world-building is getting a bit better. Nonetheless, I'm waiting for Ms. Martel to lay some serious mythos on us about witches and how they fit in the world. I'd also like for some of the nitty gritty of magic to be gone over. I thought we would finally get to learn about tarot in this book, but it was glossed over with a single paragraph. Ariel was so excited to learn about that in previous books, and now that she finally gets the chance, we get a one-liner about her watching Dash with some customers?? (view spoiler)[My hope is that we don't get this same treatment as Ariel "learns the family business" from her dad in the coming books. (hide spoiler)] I want to like these books (obviously, since I've stuck around through book 4), but I'm starting to feel diminishing returns.

The Council keeps getting uglier and uglier with every new piece of information we get about them and what they are doing with Annabell is just nasty. At least the bitch is finally out of the way. I mean, I hope she is! She better be. Her reappearance in the story was unfortunate, but the way she made Ty act just made me furious. Tyler simply annoyed me throughout this book and his behavior and the position he put Ariel in made me even madder at him than I originally was. I hope he manages to redeem himself in the future books. The other guys were all amazing and I love to read about their slow but steady progress with Ariel. And I really like the fact that the story is not gearing up to an end yet and I get to enjoy it for a lot longer. All in all, this was an amazing book.

LOVED. IT. Such a great continuation to Ariel and her covens story. I love reading about her development as a young woman. This book definitely showed her working out how to be in her own skin and own it. Not only that but I loved that her inner monologue is so REAL. I can relate to her so much because I feel like she can own up to when she knows she’s acting wack or crazy or possessive or just flat out like an emotional girl! That’s reality and I love Ariel for portraying that. I also love love LOVED that she got some time with Damien in this book. He’s one of my secret favorites and he deserved some Ariel time. I also really enjoyed the introduction of Rain Kimber, Ariel’s father. I thought that was well written and placed into the storyline flawlessly. He’s a new and exciting character to read about. Overall, Mary Martel killed it again with The Ties That Bind. One of my favorite series, can’t wait for the next book.

So many things happen- from finally getting introduced to her father, to Tyson getting semi-manipulated by Annabell again, to seeing a whole different side to Damien in their first date, to Dash being protective of Ariel, to Quinton being as bossy and sexy as ever, and to learning about the council’s evil ways. It’s so awesome to see her grow and for her to really accept who she is and what type of relationship she is in. You finally get a good feeling of all of them being together and caring for her. I love her new attitude, but her sweetness is the best. I only wish I saw more of the Salt and Pepper Twins and Jules, but I’m not worried because I know I’ll see so much more of all of them! The ending was amazing, and now I really can’t wait for the next book in this series to come out!! I’ll be anxiously awaiting for more! I absolutely love this series!

The Ariel Kimber series is one of my favorite ongoing series out right now and the newest installment did not disappoint! Ariel has led a very difficult life, being abused by a woman she thought was her mother for years, witnessing her death, and finding out that she is a witch... a rare one because she is one of only a few female witches in existence. But, for the first time in her life, Ariel is with people who care about her, a group of guys who would do anything for her. In this book in the series we get to see Ariel grow more comfortable in her powers, and with the help of her guys and the mysterious council, she begins using them to look for her father. Rain Kimber is a difficult man to find but he is well worth the wait! I loved the guys' reactions to Rain, and their concern for his impact on Ariel. We really get to see their protectiveness of her in this book, as well as her need for family, a connection to a past she never knew she had. The Ties that Bind is another amazing book in the Ariel Kimber series and I look forward to Mary Martel's next installment!

I’m not too sure how I feel about this book. I feel like the series has hit a drag. There wasn’t a big finale, I don’t know what’s going to happen in the second book. We haven’t had to many ‘magic’ things happening lately. Which I don’t like because it’s one of the reasons I read and continue to read this series. The characters are okay. I used to really like them but now it’s stale. I found myself zoning out a lot. There are a lot of sections of repeated phrases and grammar still hasn’t improved that much. One of the repeated phrases was, “he could break her. She would be absolutely devastated” - something like that. It got to the point where I was a tad bit annoyed because it seemed like she would now become a needy character, I don’t care for needy characters. I feel like there isn’t a nice balance between the men in this book. And the relationships between the characters are very childish, but they are mostly teenagers. I will continue to read this series because I want to see where this goes. I’m going to give it another chance. Overall 2.75/5

Loved it! The Ties That Bind was an excellent read! Ariel is growing more and more confident, but you can tell she is still a 17 year old coming out of her shell. While she is speaking up for herself and what she wants more, she still keeps a lot to herself out of what I think is fear of being rejected. We get more time with Damien and I loved it. Each book we get to know more about a different guy and I was happy it was his turn. Tyson however slipped further down my list to very last. I did not Loved it! I did not like him very much in this book, but I'm sure that was the point. And...I loved Rain Kimber! Can't wait to get more time with him and to see what all he teaches Ariel. All in all, Ms. Martel did an excellent job continuing the story of Ariel Kimber. Plenty of character growth and bonding time. Come on book 5!!!

I am completely hooked on these books. I love Ariel and the guys, the world of magic and that the author writes a little darkness into, which makes the entire world of the series addicting. This book is a little slower than the past three but in a good way. Ariel has been through so much already and she is still trying to figure out who and what she is, especially since most of her life has appeared to be a lie. I love seeing her grow and become more confident, not to mention the guys. YUM!

I love Ariel, she has always been such a relatable character to me and I enjoy watching her story unfold. I also really like the way that the author works each member of the harem back into the story. Yes! So good, the storyline is progressing nicely and I really enjoyed the two new additional characters. Damien's love hate relationship with scary movies and sleepy movie time stole my heart. All of the guys were great, this book focused more on Uncle Panty thief, a new character, and Tyson...with Dash and Damien in the mix. While Jules and the Salt and Pepper twins were in the book they weren't super active this go around. I missed my twins but it still didnt detract from the story and set it Yes! What an excellent addition to a great series. The character development is brilliant. I've loved reading more bout Damien and getting introduced to Rain. The storyline is very compelling and has me excited to know what will happen next for Ariel and her harem. I'd have loved to have more of my S&P twins in there, but that could very well be because I'm obsessed with them. A fact I will not apologise for lol! Agggghhhq There are currently no more books! Which I knew going in. But chose to ignore. There is another coming very soon, but I know there is no way it is going to be 3000 pages long and wrap up all the things. I am loving the characters more and more. Damian might be a new favorite. Amazing book!!!!! This was from start to finish was absolutely amazing. I love all of the characters and they just got together so well, and the new characters just added to the dynamic. I really like seeing the relationships develop, I like that they have to work at it and it's not just immediately there. The excitement and chain of events unfolded perfectly. Another wonderful book from Mary Martel, can't wait for the next one. Amazing book!!!!! This was from start to finish was absolutely amazing.
