#1 Winter's Fury A brilliant first book to what looks to be a compelling saga. Drama and treachery on a number of different venues, all simultaneously playing out in the same time frame. Eadmund and Jael were under threat from many different sources. However, with help from friends and family, their backs were covered, and even in a situation where distance caused communication difficulties, unless you were able to communicate on another plane. This second book of this saga explains a lot, but causes a lot more questions, which we hopefully will see answers in the further episodes. #3 Night of the Shadow Moon Our saga continues, with incidents in Oss, Hest, Kalfa, Andala and Tuura, simultaneously. It is fast moving action on all fronts, with siblings fighting siblings, kings being assassinated and members of "The Following", do everything possible to rain havoc down on Jael and her intrepid band of woman and men, trying to preserve life for all. Again an excellent and dramatic episode.

Meandering mess Tedious. Boring. Ridiculous characterization with the author having no idea who they truly believe themselves to be. A very very poor mans attempt to copy Game of Thrones complexity without the talent to pull it off. Truly awful. No that’s not quite right. Truly a waste of reading effort.

Epic and dark This kept me turning pages well into the night, I couldn't stop reading. This is a book for anyone who loves epic and dark fantasy. The characters are alive and breathing. The world is huge and believable. Epic and dark This kept me turning pages well into the night, I couldn't stop reading. This is a book for anyone who loves epic and dark fantasy. Fantastic series! Excellent for Game of Thrones fans going through withdrawal. Well developed characters you’ll fall in love with and their enemies you’ll despise. Jael is badass!

I really like this series of books, but I think some of the paragraphs could have been left out. The books could have been condensed. The plot was good, some of the characters were great…some?? (Questionable.) As for the married couple (Eadmund and Jeal), they were a joke if you ask me. They were not together long enough for them to get to know each other. I think that would have been better if they were related to each other or just friends. Hopefully, the next book ends better than the first 3.

Just finished the first three books Good story line. It was difficult to keep track of all the characters for me. In my opinion some of the lessor important characters were introduced in small groups and with similar names. Some of the main characters were not created with much detail or depth as they were introduced into the story line. Nor did they develope much more as the story went on. All in all it was a good read and at times impossible to put down. I will be looking forward to the sequels. Just finished the first three books Good story line. Unable to put it down There was plenty in this series, so far. Including betrayal, love, romance, friendships and kings falling. This series is written well and I feel like I am in an alternate time. Women are treated more like property and to the whims of kings. Even Jael a powerful warrior is subjected to following a king's directive. However, Jael is smart, strong, caring, compassionate and a true warrior. Fantastic First I have not read or seen Game of Thrones, so when there were reviews comparing this series to that. I was not sure how much I would like the books. But I couldn't stop reading, so a few sleepless nights later, I am hooked. Great story, characters, the building of the story line and all of the great work the author put into these things. i loved the concept of the story and how the history has been interweaved and does drag the story, however i found the whole story slow because of the in-depth (amazing) detail that i struggle to get along with. i found that the next 3 books are where it really gets interesting but you have to read the series in order to understand. there were some interesting character development would recommend if you’re wanting a committed read

A story with as much power as any epic I have read A thoroughly satisfying read. All the boxes were ticked - great characters, interesting side characters, easy fast flowing pace, clever multilayered plot, blood, guts, action plus plenty of feel good moments to ease the tension. Pulled empathy from me for the downtrodden and had my blood boiling for the despicable. And such satisfying fighting sequences! This author deserves the big letters on her covers. Need more.

The books started out really well, and it is well written. However I barely got past the first few chapters. It has more cursing in it than I wanted to read, hear or say. Then it talks about people everywhere humping. It wasn't anything I wanted to read. So I put the book down and started a new series. The books started out really well, and it is well written. Wonderful! An epic fantasy that has all the right ingredients! I’m adding this to my permanent library so I can enjoy it over and over again! It have the prefect amount of magic, love, wars between light and dark, and everything to make this a classic. It reminds me of how I thought and felt when JR Tolkien 1st released the hobbit.

Good entertainment, might even be a 3,5 - which is pretty good, considering 5 is max. Viking'ish, with a touch of Greek(?), strong female char. Great fights and great action writing. Bought the 4'th book as well, still a good story, but probably won't read buy anymore. Can't remember why, but have a feeling the story became a bit flat.... I was looking forward to reading this saga, but unfortuately there was a rather crude scene and then a cuss word right near the beginning. Bummer. This is not a clean read, although it never allude that it would be.

So good! Has everything you could want in adventure fantasy with a dab of magic and romance. The characters are well rounded and endearing and as the story grows they grow. The hero and heroine are people you can cheer on existing in a world you want to be in.

Stunning I loved the first three books (picked these up as a kindle bundle) practically inhaling them. 3D characters, varied interesting and different, a really intelligent plot, more twists and turns than a twisty turny thing - basically a really great read!

Parts of these novels are slow and parts are exciting; the writing flashes to different characters/settings often. The use of the word 'fart' seems to be an attempt to make these books more appealing to middle school-aged people. This was almost a 4 star for me, it's very well written, but I feel like the plot drags in the 2nd book and absolutely stalls in the third. She has very in-depth, beautifully written characters and the world is very lovely and believable...But yeah. It drags, sadly, along the main plotline. Great read! This is easily one of the best series I've read this year, and I read a lot. It's an all consuming story that I never wanted to put down, even as my eyes where red and burning. Brilliant Five stars just don't seem enough. Every now and then a book or series of books just totally blow you away. These 3 did just that with a bit to spare. I'm going to leave it at that and just say if you love fantasy novels......please read these. Brilliant Five stars just don't seem enough.
