2,5 🤔🤔⭐️s The first and the second part could have been easily joined to one. Plenty of thoughts and reconsidering, fast paced but dragging plot. I was neither happy nor sad. (A small remark: in the first book there were plenty of pages regarding Rourke’s aunt. In the second there is only one sentence just stating what happened to the aunt!!!! 😮)

The Dirty Princess sort of centers around the question: What happens after Cinderella and Prince Charming are married? In the case of Roman and Rourke, happily ever after is not so happy after all. Rourke, having possibly impulsively agreed to wed, realizes too late that reality does not match her dreams. Roman is not the guy she imagined or thought him to be; he is, in fact, much darker in personality and personal dealings. Roman is that sexy dark scary guy who both attracts and frightens females. Rourke is surprised, even though she should have known better, and she finds herself at sixes and sevens. The setup here is typical but still unpredictable and compelling. I like Roman because he is smart and understands how the world works, but Rourke, not so much. She is naive and wishy washy. I dislike Rourke for just being rather dumb when things were obvious. I did enjoy the story overall for its engaging, entertaining and naughty plot. This is a fun read, and I recommend!

A Marriage of Intrigue! After finishing the Exiled Prince yesterday I am so glad I bought the next book in this series. I found this one very different to the first book but still as good. The danger in this book was really interesting to read.

Tonight, I chose to love him for better or worse.” Roman and Rourke are back. And now married, if they thought their new life would be calm and peaceful, they are wrong. Rourke, by getting married, unknowingly, enters a darker and more dangerous world than she thinks. And with many secrets surrounding her husband, knowing who to trust or believe will be extremely difficult. It is undeniable that Roman loves his wife. And keeping her safe is his goal. But when you are a fallen prince and war king, preventing your enemies from harming your loved ones may be impossible. As the intrigues that began in the previous book begin to bear fruit, Roman finds himself surrounded by serious problems. And maybe this time his fortune and surname can't save him. Like its predecessor, the book is well written, captivates the reader, presents more intrigue, more drama and more secrets. As well as hot scenes, after all we are talking about Roman and Rourke. Rourke will not have an easy task, whether adjusting to her new role as wife of a millionaire and lady of society, trying to find herself and not to lose her identity, or trying to combat her husband's overpowering or even finding out she doesn't know the man she married. Roman will have to fight not only to defeat his enemies but also to maintain and save his marriage. The ending ends with a cliffhanger. Looking forward to the final part. *ARC provided in exchange for an honest Review * https://avidezliteraria.wordpress.com/

I really liked this book. I thought book 1 was better but this one was really good. As Rourke and Roman’s marriage begins, Rourke is starting to find her place when tragedy strikes and secrets Roman has been keeping from her come to light. The ending was intense although I got mad at Rourke. I thought she blew things up way too fast without truly listening. But overall the book was well written and I’m completely in love with Roman!

What happens after Cinderella marries her Prince, if he is a war lord After reading The Exiled Prince I moved right onto reading The Dirty Princess as I couldn't wait to see where the cliffhanger was going to end up. I like this book also, but just not as much as the first in the series. The writing is still engaging and fun but not nearly as flirty and entertaining. From the title, and some of the things from The Exiled Prince, I expected a lot of "dirty" but alas i was disappointed. I found this book to be much more subdued because of the head swiveling number of times Rourke changes her mind about her feelings for Roman. She just keeps going flipping and flopping more than a fish out of water for basically the whole story. As with real life she thought she was Cinderella after having her prince fall in love with her, only to find that the day after things are not quite what they seemed. I guess that is why Disney never did an epilogue to the story Cinderella and instead left it at just after they got married. She was also going through a real awakening and shift as to where she now fit into the world and around those she loved and worked with. After being Roman's personal assistant for over a year she was now his wife. And with that change comes a shift in responsibilities and expectations, like not being his PA first off and instead becoming the lady of the house(s) and having a place in "Society" (yep I put a capital "S" on that one) I felt like I just wanted to slap Rourke across the face and shout "Snap outta it!!!!" (in the style of that wonderful scene from the movie Moonstruck between Cher and Olympia Dukakis). Instead Rourke just wallowed around in her inner mind, along with her bed eating pizza, watching movies and not showering, without making any movement towards picking herself up and making a decision of any kind. Those around her were also having a hard time or getting into situations they would cause them pain later while she just stayed in the ivory tower (NYC penthouse in this case) without a thought of anyone else. I guess the word "Princess" in the title hits a strong note here. Some parts of this book were engaging and interesting. So I did continue to read and finish it. I will also say that I am moving onto reading the next book in the series, War King, as I want to see where the story goes and how Rourke and Roman end up. Plus I really want to get my love back for this series, which has waned by the end of reading The Dirty Princess. I received a free copy of this book In exchange for my honest review. This was a very short read. Not sure the purpose of this book. It’s very different from the first. It’s taken a different turn is has a lot of little drama. I didn’t like how at the end of the first book he proposes and the start of this book they are married. You do get to read how they get married but it could have given us more character development if we saw more of their love and why they should be together. How this book played out just confused me. On to the next because I have to finish.

I read this duet first, and now I realize that the Exiled Prince trilogy goes first. But no problem, since both work alone. It’s just lovely to reunite with old friends! In The Rebel King duet, Rourke is a secondary shadowy character, and her marriage to Roman is shown as devoted but we don’t know much about them. Even so, knowing Roman is Nicky’s older brother and knowing there’s some shady business in his businesses, I was intrigued. The first book in this trilogy, The Exiled Prince, just shows us billionaire Roman Menshikov, the mogul, the businessman, and the exiled prince. We get treated to a lovely story as they fall in love. In this one, they are just married, a very spontaneous decision, product of the love and passion they feel for each other. And not even two days after their marriage, all the dominoes in Roman’s work start to fall and Rourke is subjected to so many plot twists that her poor head is spinning. Behind the wealthy façade of the billionaire is a war lord, embroiled in arms deals, a war to liberate his country Kitzeh from a murderous dictator who has his people living in hunger, poverty and fear. There is a world where Roman inhabits that Rourke is a total stranger of. A woman initially headless in love with her husband, as she discovers new facets of her husband’s hidden world, she never stops to love and desire him, but starts to question the wisdom of uniting her destiny to his. This book is riveting and enthralling. I was fascinated as new information about Roman surfaces, and I was very touched by his constant devotion and caring for Rourke. For Roman, she was his priority and her safety a must. Poor Rourke was buffeted by so much information coming up that she had a hard time keeping things straight. Nothing is resolved in this issue, since it is a transition story between the first and third episodes. It was great in that it reveals the deep love Roman and Rourke have for each other and reveals Everly’s initial involvement with Nicky. It was great because it creates a lot of uncertainty, a lot of resentment in Rourke, and a lot of anxiety in Roman. He watched his world (Rourke) crumbling down and he was desperate to fix things and have her back. The fact that there was danger from unknown factions (at the time) adds a lot of juicy suspense to the book. As a transition book it was great, yummy, suspenseful and totally page-turner. And left me salivating for the finale!!

When Roman asked Rourke to marry him, she immediately said yes without pausing to think of what her future would be like as the new Mrs. Menshikov. It is just after they’ve gotten married that her life started changing. She can no longer be his assistant as she is married to a billionaire and that makes her an incredibly wealthy woman. With her new life comes a lot of challenges as Rourke learns to navigate Roman’s world. But her abrupt wedding didn’t leave her with the chance to get to know Roman really well and she is still adjusting to his abrupt mood swings. Yet, there are new things that are starting to scare her and that is losing her identity, one that she fought so hard to get her independence and success. It’s important for Rourke to understand Roman’s life, but that quickly changes everything when she finds out his darkest secrets, ones that he didn’t bother telling her about before they got married. With her marriage in jeopardy, Rourke will have to decide if she can truly move on with their marriage or cut ties with the man that she loves the most. For the past thirty years, Roman has been chasing something unknown, until he met Rourke. She has given him a new light to his life and he wants to give her everything his money can offer. But there are secrets that he has been hiding from her, ones that can ruin his marriage. He knows that he is doing everything to protect her, but when a sudden change of events put her at risk. He will have to learn to trust her if they are going to have a future together. I’m loving this trilogy, there was so much suspense and mystery in this book that had me at the edge of my seat the entire time that I was reading it. The chemistry of the characters is still off the charts, it’s passionate and it’s because of how much they love each other that they can’t seem to stay away from one another. In this book, we get to learn more about Roman’s country and why he is working it the way he has been for a very long time. Rourke starts to see how much life has change and will continue to change as wife of a very wealthy man. She is no longer the assistant, but the boss and that role scares her at first. But when secrets are revealed everything changes and the end will leave you wanting for more. We get a cliffhanger and the next book promises to be just as good. Will definitely continue to read the next and final book in the trilogy. Highly recommend checking it out! :) **I voluntarily read an early copy of this title in exchange for an honest review**

Political intrigue, reveal secrets and heartbreak surrounds sexy, hot scenes and make for a page-turning read that is character-driven with no downtime.   If you are in the mood for a romance with a bit more, this is definitely a good choice.

Ugh. The saving grace in this dark romance was Roman and his seemingly intense obsessive love for Rourke. His focus and love for her never seemed to waver, but his dishonesty, avoidance, and secretive behaviors put Rourke at a disadvantage. Had the things that happened in this book been included in the Exiled Prince, it would have been a much better book. Save your money. This is book two in the trilogy and I am beginning to feel annoyed with Rourke. She vacillates too much in her feelings with Roman. She is either happy or sad, calm or angry and her anger is questionable. Rourke had no idea of how powerful Roman is. Instead of looking at things in a positive light, she always reverts to "you don't trust me" or "you are not telling me everything". So many times, Roman has asked her to trust him, that there were things he did not want her involved with. Rourke fee This is book two in the trilogy and I am beginning to feel annoyed with Rourke. The Dirty Princess; the second in the Royal Secrets trilogy is intriguing, engaging and over all what you would want in the second book to the Exiled Prince. The cliffhanger from the first book kicks off the second. Rourke pictures herself as a modern-day Cinderella, but after she slowly starts to learn things about Roman, she finds herself questions her feelings. I found myself loving more parts of this books than others, and at times I wanted to knocked Rourke up-side the head more than once. I found myself loving more parts of this books than others, and at times I wanted to knocked Rourke up-side the head more than once. Her life has changed, going from a PA to a wife is more than a job change, it’s a life change. As always though, the steamy scenes are hot, lust filled and all consuming between Roman and Rourke. Dramatic, suspenseful, dangerous, heartbreaking, all rolled up into one story that leaves you biting at the bookmark for the next in the series. Off I go to read the next one!

The Dirty Princess (Royal Secrets #2) by Jeana E. Mann. Rourke now has to deal with what who her husband really is. Roman knew one day he would have to tell Rourke what he is doing. He has won the war but has he lost his wife especially after an assassination attempt on him brings him to whisking everyone to his London estate. The crap has hits the fan. The relationship between Everly and Nicky is putting a strain on their friendship. An emotional rollercoaster to the conclusion of this series. Rourke was at a point where everything that was happening would even make or break her. The question is whether she will rise to the occasion and soar or leave her Cinderella tale. 4 stars for me.

Wow! This book. I can't begin to tell you how much I loved every intriguing second of this book. Rourke is just as amazing in this book as she was in the first book. I love how she really seems to come into her own in this book. She's stronger than she thinks. She has opinions and thoughts that make her wonder what really happened. Roman made promises, ones that he intends to keep. But he also has secrets that he can't tell Rourke. These two have so much love for each other. At times I got so lo Wow! This book. This is the second book in the series, and I would advise readers to read book 1 prior to this as it is continuing on with the same characters. Rouke, the female lead character, had certain expectations when marrying Roman, the main male character. Most of these expectations did not materialize and so she feels betrayed and she is not so happily married as her fairytale comes crashing into reality.
