I'm absolutely astounded as to why this book currently has high ratings. As someone who absolutely adores a good paranormal romance and nearly anything to do with foxes, I was so excited to see this book appear on my Facebook newsfeed as a recommended read. As someone who absolutely adores a good paranormal romance and nearly anything to do with foxes, I was so excited to see this book appear on my Facebook newsfeed as a recommended read. After reading decent reviews, despite how new the book appears, I delved in to what I hoped would be an awesome shifter romance. Instead, I got a very elementary read that I could only force myself 10% of the way through without being disgusted with the level of of inconsistency and overwhelming grammatical errors. This reads more like a fan-fiction written by a high-school student than a book published by a professional author. Constant overuse of character names...improbable and quite frankly, ridiculous plot points that the author wants you to believe...and don't get me started on the childlike descriptions of nearly everything. The book opens to the heroine attempting to break in to a building in order to steal a potion that will give her sister her powers back after they were taken from her. Despite having no magical ability herself, the heroine consistently points out how she would do anything for her sister regardless if she must break the law to do so (though she struggles when taking the potion, wanting to take it herself despite clearly stating she would never do so within the first few pages). Interesting prospect and hopefully incoming epic break-in sequence. But no, suddenly the main character has the most impossible of items to assist her in her break-in fondly referred to by the author as "tech". This "tech" given to her by her sister before she lost her abilities, is so over-the-top and outrageously unbelievable that I was exasperated with how stupidly easy it made everything. Kenzie (the main character, whose name is issued nearly every other sentence) has a watch that shows her the building, everyone in it, scans to show if tech or magic is being used with the help of "witch balls of doom", etc. She also has a magic-enhanced headband that keeps her hair from falling out and leaving DNA or her "essence" anywhere (and the heroine complains that it does not hide her bright red hair...like...it can literally do everything but that?? Come on...), tech in her ears to enhance her hearing and blah blah blah She proceeds to use a magic device that unlocks ANY lock to get into a vault where an Alpha shifter stores all his most precious items and just so happens to keep them labled. Literally, every shelf is labled "legal potions" or "illegal potions" or whatever else and is perfectly organized so that Kenzie can find the exact potion, labled, that she needs. Quote from the book: "Thank goodness the tiger was organized. She read the labels and went down in alphabetical order to 'potions.' Some were illegal and some not, but they were all clearly marked. Kenzie went through each of the potions on the illegal shelf until she found what she was looking for." Really?! If this weren't absolutely ridiculous enough, suddenly three naked fox shifters are in the vault with her. And boy, does the author like to remind you how much they are naked. In fact, it is said so much that I myself was reminded how much nudity must have enthralled me as a 13 year old. Word-for-word from the author after each one is described naked: "And they were all naked." We know!!! The dialogue between her and the fox shifters is beyond cringe-worthy and to top it all off, suddenly the author is using big-kid language to allude to incoming smut despite having some of the most unprofessional writing skills I've read in quite awhile. Example: "Then the first fox took it from her and swept her a very d*ck-swinging bow". This line used after some other language that turns what could be a sexy scene into something just...vulgar. At this point, I just couldn't do it anymore. I don't know if I've ever been exasperated with a book so "highly reviewed". Mayhap the author just has a lot of good friends. I wish they would have told her how much this book flopped before she put it online. I'll throw out some other things I found ridiculous: -There is a Council of Paranormals. Super creative. -She enters a quiet room, SO QUIET that she cannot even hear "air whistling through the vents" and yet she can hear computers humming. -She has parkour training...and mentions this as she vaults over cubicles in an office to make her escape rather than just...you know, running. -She also happens to know coding. Because that needs to be stressed. In fact, I won't be shocked if she knows sign language, owns a coat that makes her fly, or is the hottest girl in town. Help me. -She immediately recognizes the shifters as foxes because of her nose. That little gem is never explained. And that's it. First review I've left on goodreads because someone needed to say something. DNF and you won't either. There are much better and much more well-written shifter romances out there.

What better excuse for excessive foxy gifs than a book about fox shifters As you’d expect from a book called “For Fox Sake” this was fun and ok maybe wasn’t the most well written thing I’ve ever read but it did suck me in. It was funny, cute and the FMC kicks butt! Kenzie is a witch with no powers and we meet her stealing a potion for her sister who’s lost her powers to a curse. She’s breaking into a vault with the help of her handy tech magic. She has a charm for everything, from hiding her scent to better hearing etc etc. They give her an advantage when she has no powers of her own. ..Except for her super computer smarts and Ninja Kung Fu gymnastics. Oh and her unexplainable power to smell if someone is a shifter or not and what kind they are... She meets her 3 men while stealing the potion they are all naked of course. All muscles and stuff. They steal the potion from her and the rest of the book is basically her trying to get it back along with developing her relationships with the foxy foxes. It’s not a spoiler to say they are her fated mates. It’s right at the beginning. They all have a troubled past to match hers but are fun and love to play games. I think the Emma did a really good job of putting a foxes characteristics into these guys. Well what I’d image a fox might be like if he shifted into a man. Multiple POVs help with this too. This book is shy on the explanations - especially the powers, both the foxes ability to feed on pain and the tech magic- but I just rolled with it. Don’t overthink it and you’ll have a good time. I’m a sucker for the mate bonds so I’m blind-sighted to the bad stuff. It’s pretty short and available on KU so what do you have to loose?

There were moments in this that really amused me, but didn't really feel the chemistry between the main characters - hopefully that changes in book two. Also the way in which Hunter and to a degree Ash and Finnick, dealt with the potion after realising Kenzie was their mate, it wasn't well done by them and their actions sucked. This is a reverse harem book, the first of 3 interconnected books. Acquired via KU.

Fun and quick read I had a great time reading this. Kenzie is so awesome; she loves her sister more than anything and will do whatever it takes to help her. Kenzie has been through a lot in her life and she totally deserves three gorgeous fox shifters to care for her. I liked that this wasn't insta love and took some time for the four to sort out their feelings and form a bond. I'm excited to read the sequel! Fun and quick read I had a great time reading this. This book has been on my e-reader for quite some time already and it has been even longer on my wishlist. It's almost a year ago that someone first told me to read a book by Emma Dean and that this was the perfect starting point. However, there are so many books I wanna read and I keep on adding new ones to the list and e-reader. However, there are so many books I wanna read and I keep on adding new ones to the list and e-reader. But, this was the perfect book to fill the "author name starting with a D" - option for the N.E.W.T.'s. It didn't take long for me to get into this book. The first chapter was already quite amazing, introducing the characters in the best way possible and I was so curious to know what was going on and what was going to happen. It's a pity that I had to work in between, else I would have maybe binged the entire series in one day. This book was a little bit of everything I like. The characters in this book are quite intelligent and even though hormones are messing with their brains it's not that bad. On top of that there is a lot of politics in this book and I'm very sure there's much more to come in the other books. To make it even more perfect we have a heroine who is strong and not just because she knows how to fight and we have three lovely men, all very different and unique. There's also a really nice build up. Usually when characters discover in chapter three that they are mates, it doesn't take that long before they end up in bed together, but in this case the characters really thought things through. The attraction was there, the lust was there, but they really wanted to make sure that this was what they wanted, that this was how they wanted their future to be, before they acted on all those feelings and emotions. That made the moments it eventually happened even better. And then there was the finale. Damn! I can't wait to see where this is going!

I really enjoyed this book. I think it was a good start to the trilogy. It reminded me a bit of the Kit Davenport series as Kenzie is a badass bitch in her own right even though she has ZERO powers. Goodness I can’t believe the hell shes been through I mean for years her family literally Tortured her, yes her own family, all to get her powers to manifest. I cannot fathom this but I have mucho respect for her because she keeps her bodies’ scars more to serve as a constant reminder of their wicked I really enjoyed this book. I cannot fathom this but I have mucho respect for her because she keeps her bodies’ scars more to serve as a constant reminder of their wickedness, not that they care. But I mean really who tortures a child? A child whom they believe will come into this Supreme power. If you ask me, they are lucky she didn’t come into power because if that was me the first thing I’d do would be to vanquish their asses lol. I’m spiteful that way. Then blurb does pretty much outline the story, there’s not much it doesn’t touch on and so most of the story is her finding and bonding with her three foxy mates, pun intended. I found this to be a semi slow burn (she sleeps with one of them near the end) but there was certainly no instalove moments between them all. They all showed hesitation with the mating, scared of being tied down and all that goes with it. Alas Kenzie is desperate to help her sister and if hanging out with these hunks and taking down an enemy is what she has to do, well damnit she’ll do it lol. She is also a computer genius and a pretty badass fighter. She may have had this insane urge to mean something and to be something to her parents but unfortunately they still see her as a no one. In response she turned her back on it all and trained in many ways and places, honing her body into the best she could be, as a 100% human. I’m curious if she really is so plain or if that’ll change later in the series, she’s been through so much and is beyond strong so we’ll see. I can’t wait to see where this series leads and how her relationship with her harem proceeds.

And I loved that part of the story. I felt the story didn't go as fast as I wanted it to. Kenzie and her guys are just really learning one another throughout this mostly. The story is there. But you're just learning what's happening through information. Which was fine, but then everything popped off at the end and you now know that the story is going to progress as it should in the next book. Hopefully. But seriously. I loved this. It was so good. It didn't knock Kit out of her top spot for my favorite RH. But Kenzie and her guys are definitely up there in the top five! :D

This was a really cute book. Kenzie is a great character she is funny she is smart she is witty and really enjoyable to read. I think the premise of the story is pretty interesting and I was fascinated by the whole fox plot line and their little cute sayings or puns. Great Reverse Harem Urban Fantasy This author is new to me and I just downloaded this book based on the blurb. I’m really glad I did because it was a very enjoyable read. I’m really glad I did because it was a very enjoyable read. Kenzie is a witch who was born without power. Treated abysmally by her coven, she has only ever loved two members of her family, she’s either ignored or berated by the rest. Whilst Kenzie has no magic, she is incredibly intelligent and physically fit with many martial arts under her belt. She overcompensated for being without power, by pushing herself to her limits. Kenzie’s sister is a powerful witch who has had her powers stolen with a curse. In order to prevent her sister’s eventual death she tries to steal a potion that will give someone magic powers. When she’s in the midst of stealing it, a group of three fox shifters instead steal it from her. In order to get the potion back, she agrees to help with a contract they’ve taken on. I loved the concept of this book, a witch with no powers is a very interesting main female character in a paranormal book. Kenzie has been hurt tremendously by the people who are supposed to love her, but she has remained strong and independent despite it. She has compensated by using charms made by her sister and creating tech-magic in tandem with her as well. The three foxes are interesting characters too. None of the foxes are related, and the way they met is part of what makes intriguing. Each of the three is vastly different and speaks to different parts of the Kenzie’s character. It’s enjoyable watching her start to bond as they work together. The world building for this book is very well done. I really like how the author explains about the covens and how they are run, over the course of the book. We also have to learn about shifter culture too, which is done as we hear about the foxes and their history. What makes me classify this book as an Urban Fantasy, as opposed to a straight paranormal romance, is the plot. The plot is complex and interesting and would stand alone even without the romance part of the book. This is the first book in a trilogy, and I’ll definitely be reading the rest of the series, as I really want to know what happens next.

In the same world as Spotter Her First, For Fox Sake is about Kenzie. She is on a mission to get a potion. She just may meet her mates on said mission. Kenzie will do anything for her sister, which makes me love her more, and i thoroughly enjoyed her first meeting with Hunter, Ash and Finnick. With a great plot and great characters this is going to be a fun series.

This review has been hidden because it contains spoilers. To view it, click here. I really didn't care for this story. I didn't get a feel for any real chemistry between the characters and, frankly, if my "mates" had refused to hand over something so vital - the potion, I would never want to be with them. They, meaning Hunter, treated her like crap and she hung around for more? If it had been me I'd have maimed all 3 guys, given the potion to my sister, and told all the guys to go screw themselves. Amazingly well written! This is the first book I've read from this author and, based on this book, I'll definitely be checking out her other works. Loved the story! I love loved Kenzie and her triad of foxes. Not to mentioned her love and devotion to her sister. The world building of the witches and shifters is great and the villain, Brad, a faceless danger. I still wonder about the tiger shifter and if he was being truthful with the mate bond. Cannot wait for the next book!

Loved it What happens when a magic less witch is the mate of three foxes? I loved this. The dynamic between the group is exciting. I love how crafty and cunning the fox shifters are and how perfectly Kenzie fits in with them. The world that's been created is consuming and I would give this more than 5 stars if I could. I was only intrigued by the name and this weird need I had to read about fox shifters. The fact that the blurb left so much to be desired is kind of annoying. I love all of the characters. The ones your supposed to like at least. The men: Ash- While we didn’t really get much from him, in backstory or personality, I still liked his character. He’s a little over shadowed by Hunter and Finnick, since they’re both kind of opposites on the spectrum, and he’s almost normal and “medium” compared to them. If that makes sense? Finnick- I always love the jokesters. They’re personality is meant to make you smile and I’m kind of broody so I appreciate ‘em like no other. The one sex scene in this book is courtesy of this stud, so I’m a little partial to him at the moment. I liked his vulnerable side, and how self-deprecating he was when trying to help Kenzie overcome her past. Hunter- Now this main man, is a broody factory. He’s super secretive, in a way, always hiding what he’s feeling. The hacker of the group, because there’s usually always one. He’s obviously brilliant in the way he so smoothly maneuvers everyone to stick to his game plan. Making sure everything falls seamlessly into place. And when he shows his emotions, it means that much more. Our main girl: Kenzie was amazing. She’s a SUPER-FUCKING-BADASS. Having survived what her family put her through, and quite literally fought her way through life. I admire the shit out of her. It’s super cool hearing about all the different fighting styles. My only wish in this department is that each was described more, that the fight scenes had more depth. Selene is my chica and I love Gram-Gram too. The fact that anyone stuck by her in her family really helped me like this story. I don’t really like the completely alone thing in story. Too sad for me. I thought everything fit so well together. I like the alternating POV and how well they flowed into each other. Totally dig the ending, left me revved up for the next book. Ecstatic that this book was better than I thought it was going to be, so def would recommend.

Really good series. The plot (i.e. the main villain and her finding and building a relationship with the 3 fox shifters) spans all three books. I wouldn’t say that it ends in cliffhangers, per se, but the plot does remain unsolved at the end of each book, so you will want to roll right over into the next one. The three fox shifters are great characters. They’re all a bit damaged in different ways and of course our girl helps them heal and work through their issues, and they help her out in turn. The three fox shifters are great characters. They’re all a bit damaged in different ways and of course our girl helps them heal and work through their issues, and they help her out in turn. She’s just as damaged as they are since she is a witch born without magic and her family has shunned her, and even gone so far as to torture her as a child to try to awaken her magic. Thankfully her little sister (18-19 years old now) totally loves her and makes up for the rest of the family. Oh and grandma is cool too. Kenzie is a computer wiz and has trained in a lot of martial arts across the world. For a human she would be that special snowflake that is too good at stuff, but in the witch and shifter world, she’s still nothing. She relies a lot on some charms her sister made for her to help boost her hearing and strength so she can hold her own when surrounded by witches, shifters, demons, vamps, and fae. When she falls in with 3 fox shifters who are also mercenaries, it helps her to be on near equal footing with them and they totally respect her (while wanting to protect her of course). There is the instant mate thing (at least from the guys side, since witches don’t have fated mates), but the guys are damaged enough that they resist/resent the fated mate idea at first, fearing it’ll mean they have to change and be someone else for her. But they slowly realize that maybe she’s right for them and they don’t have to change. Maybe she’ll accept them as they are. And she’s willing to cautiously see where things will go. She’s attracted to them (who wouldn’t be; they’re gorgeous men!) but they also have something she wants, so she has to work with them. It’s a medium burn. There’s romance and sex, but it’s gonna take longer than one book for them all to accept the bond.

3,5 Stars, solid performance for first instalment The novel is a spin-off from another novel, however, it can also be read as a standalone. Quickly turns out that those three foxes are her mates and vice-versa. The characters are likeable, from the heroine and her harem, to the secondary characters, such as her sister and grandma. The heroine and her triad have a long history of pain and suffering, something which bonds them. The characters appear strong. There is no insta-love, at the same none are denying their attraction to each other, like in some other ridiculous novels, instead, it has the perfect middle ground. The novel thus focuses on this revelation, as each character has to figure out what it means for themselves. The novel also has an appropriate pace, as it is not too slow when it comes to the relationship development, while not being an insta-love story. But it also focuses more on Finnick, leaving what I guess is more room for development for the other two in the next books. But no worries, there is also more going on than just hormones, as the heroine and her three foxes team up to take down the main villain. Not to reveal too much, it suffices to say that the plot and action are carefully interwoven so that it appears natural and effortless that they work together, far from feeling forced. Therefore, it also has a solid storyline to support the romance, leaving room for story progress. Personally, I look forward to how they plan to take down the villain, considering the move he made in the last part of the book. Overall, it is a solid first instalment, as it reveals enough to garner attention, interest and build up sympathy for the characters, but leaves out enough to want to read the second instalment.

When I started this book, I got major Kit Davenport feels. I'm not sure if that was intentional or not, but that's how I felt. I think it would certainly draw in that crowd though. When her younger sister is cursed by a jealous jerk, Kenzie is the only one with the skills to help her. Unfortunately, that means stealing from a very powerful Alpha feline. What she doesn't expect is to have the cure for her sister stolen out from underneath by a trio of fox shifters. Even worse...them turning out to be her mates. In this book, we see a lot of action and budding romance. While she is the chosen mate to all three of the foxes, they are getting to know one another and taking things slowly. However, this book focuses mainly on one guy. We learn about his past. What he sees as his future. And the love he grows for Kenzie. While the mate bond is solidified in this book, it does grow stronger. I really enjoyed this book. It moved at a good pace. I wouldn't exactly call it a slow burn, but also not super steamy. There are some intimate scenes, but it works well with the story. The characters are great and well-detailed. I felt like I really got a sense of who they were and their personalities. Overall, I really enjoyed it and I was glad the second book was releasing soon so I could read it. I think everyone should try this series on for size. It's a good one and I can't wait to see where it leads.

Great writing, witches, sexy shifters, revenge and a heroine with a bit of an edge, what’s not to like about For Fox Sake. Dean has a way of managing to cram so much into her books without making it feel cramped or hurried. Kenzie has a bit of a sad past but she is confident in who she is and is very likeable, her ability to survive no matter what while keeping her humour and wit is commendable. The three fox shifters are just what I’d imagine fox shifters to be like if they were to be sexy and mischievous. As with Spotted Her First, the side characters are just as intriguing and well developed as the main characters. And, having all her shifter books set in the same world means that familiar names pop up, there’s even an appearance of Piper and her Leopard mates as well as Eisheth, the friendly demon. This is a medium burn RH with fated mates, so things move fairly fast in the emotions department - and the sexy stuff too. As with her other book, Dean deals with some sensitive issues but For Fox Sake has a little more in the way of heavier subjects and content. There’s not a cliffhanger ending per se, but this first book is definitely leading into the next one with most things left unfinished. I’m eagerly awaiting the next book.

The Series I really love this series. I love how the reverse harem is spread out over three books so we really get to see the relationship develop. This book has some instant interest but everyone seems hesitant and not sure if they want to develop the mate bond. I love how developed the characters are before they meet each other. Kenzie is a badass heroine who can absolutely take care of herself. The guys have already formed a strong bond with each other and are a tight-knit group which makes them accepting Kenzie even better because they can analyze how each other feel. The guys all have strong personalities-which differ a lot from each other. Getting to explore and learn more about each of them adds a new depth to the book. In regards to sex: (view spoiler)[There is some sex and dirty scenes in the first book but more in the second (& hopefully the third!!) (hide spoiler)] About the Bond: (view spoiler)[ The first book out of three you meet the guys and everyone warms up more to the bond. None of the guys and Kenzie accept the bond but it makes the relationship feel like it is developing at a great pace. (Somewhat accelerated by dangerous situations) (hide spoiler)]
