Absurdist humor. Not my thing (at least, not this type). No rating because it's a personal/mood thing. Absurdist humor. Not my thing (at least, not this type). No rating because it's a personal/mood thing.

A very fun read. A wide variety of interesting characters that make this a humorous yet a bit over the top funny mystery. The mystery is solved with a surprising solution which seems a bit sudden. What seems to be a background story leaves us with a big cliffhanger. I will be reading the next installment in the series.

Love this new series. A spin-off from the Match Maker series, it has the classic notes of similarity - humour, mystery, kooky people, fun heroine, and two hotties. Add a couple of old dogs and what more could you want for a relaxing, cosy read that leaves you smiling and feeling good? Add to that an undercurrent of more serious proportions with the underlying mystery of a murderer that is obviously going to be the darker theme under the fun that will continue in the books.

I don't often read cozy mysteries, but the author is so funny on social media that I had to try one of her books. I wasn't disappointed. This humorous tale, full of wacky characters, was a quick easy read - just what I needed. Is it believable? Nah - but who cares. It's a fun and entertaining read and sometimes that's all I want. Ready for the next one in the series. I don't often read cozy mysteries, but the author is so funny on social media that I had to try one of her books. I wasn't disappointed. Matilda Dare, an insomniac, inherits a house, a newspaper and 2 dogs in Midnight New Mexico. She knew about the house but not the newspaper so when she arrives , it’s staff demands she not close it and she becomes a reporter. When one of her reporters is murdered and another injured in an attempted murder she has to find out who did it. The ending was a bit of a surprise but made sense. With humorous writing, interesting characters and a twisty plot, an enjoyable read.

I thought I’d never want to leave Gladie and Cannes, but I’m moving to Goodnight now! Matilda has her hands full with her new life. Amos & Boone are more than happy to help. Elise Sax has done it again. She’s created a new town, new quirky characters, with all new laughs and fun. I can’t get enough!

Die Noon is a first book in Goodnight Mystery series. We met Matilda Dare for the first time in Matchmaker Mystery series and we all loved her from the first moment. Intelligent mystery, dash of romance and lots and lots of small town humor make this book impossible to put down. My opinion was given voluntarily after reading an ARC copy.

A silly mystery with jokes that fell flat. It seems like the author tried too hard for quirky, and her characters didn’t pull that off. The romance wasn’t believable, and the “almost sex scene” felt like it was copied out of a different type of book. I don’t like to quit, and I kept hoping for more, but it was a struggle to finish it.

Not your usual cozy mystery. This one has a possible love triangle, aliens, an intergalactic war and giraffes. Matilda comes from the Matchmaker Mystery Series, her husband is a killer and people think she's crazy. A fun quick read. I love murder-mayhem-laugh books where seemingly normal people get into crazy situations in crazy little towns with crazy people lol Add two geriatric dogs, a giraffe and a murder and you get a fun entertaining read.

Funny who dunnit What a fun book. A great story about a newcomer to a dying town that turns the whole place upside down. Every day something new happens, murder, almost murder, a bad corporation in town. Oh, also a love story and a town so small they are taking bets on who ends up with the new girl. The author brings the characters to life and you want them to be your friends, so glad this is book one as I definitely want to read more!!

Perfect! Elise Sax is hands down one of the most talented authors I have ever had the privilege of reading. Everything she writes is pure gold. It’s always hilarious, entertaining with zany crazy stuff that just might be real and she writes these stories in such a way, it captivates you. Matilda is just as goofy and funny as Gladie was and I am loving everything things about it!

It slows down the activity in the brain thus allowing you to sleep. The immediate release version helps you to sleep faster. What is the correct dosing method of intake of Ambien? The doctor prescribes the medication of Ambien pill for a short term period only. Do take it for a period of 1 to 2 weeks for less only. Do take it in oral form on an empty. Never increase the dose, take it more often or use it longer than prescribed. However, don’t take more than 10 mg a day. Doctors do prescribe a lower dosage for women as the drug takes more time to flush out of the body. Same happens with the older patients. Matilda Dare had been married to someone she thought was the man of her dreams and discovered herself in a nightmare and a rubber room. When she inherits a conglomeration of house and newspaper, as well as inheriting two ancient dogs, Matilda has no idea what life has in store for her. She takes this in stride. Nearly being drowned on her first assignment as a reporter Matilda seems to be living up to her reputation as the loony woman. It also introduces her to Sheriff Amos, one of two men who will further complicate her life. Well, three if you count her main newspaper reporter, Silas. The second man, since I didn't mention this before, is a "roommate" she inherited with the house and the dogs. Could this situation get any stranger? Well, throw in UFOS, ghost sightings, and giraffes. Who could think up a way to combine all this? Elise Sax did and does it better than anyone else. Clear your schedule because once you begin this book, you won't want to be distracted by your own life and troubles. They will look so much smaller after you spend time with Matilda. However I bet you can't wait to visit with her again!

I am surprised I enjoyed this story because it has everything you can think of to make it zany and out there. Imagine sitting down to write a novel and thinking of anything weird that could happen and then throw it all into one book....it's a stretch.....aliens, UFO's, ghostly presences, giraffes, radioactive flesh eating fish, a newspaper that reports all the gossip that's fit to gossip, murder and attempted murder. It's all there, and a bit over the top. It also includes the requisite 2 men interested in the same woman....a theme that I am finding old and tired. Despite the zaniness, the story moved along and it was a quick read. I did not like the ending...it seems that I've been reading too many authors lately who just throw an ending at you and you are expected to go with it....It was totally out of left field. There was no reason for Matilda to have been shot at or chased through town, and especially by who was doing the chasing. Mathilda also solved the murder, and that came out of nowhere....not even an inkling is dangled for the reader to put the story together. It is just a bunch of events, the crazier the better, and a not so logical conclusion. Still, if you want to have a quick read that won't tax your brain, (only your believability) then this is the book for you.
