This e-book was an offer to me on the Early Reviews of Library Thing, for an honest review. I think is the first time I read a self-help book...so I don't know how they usually are. I found the writing easy but in the begging, it felt repetitive. Andrews tries to illustrate with personal examples. Sometimes he makes you laugh and sometimes he is quite serious. Sometimes it feels like a pep talk but it will definitely make you feel understood, although everybody has a different reason to be shy and This e-book was an offer to me on the Early Reviews of Library Thing, for an honest review. I think is the first time I read a self-help book...so I don't know how they usually are. I found the writing easy but in the begging, it felt repetitive. Andrews tries to illustrate with personal examples. Sometimes he makes you laugh and sometimes he is quite serious. Sometimes it feels like a pep talk but it will definitely make you feel understood, although everybody has a different reason to be shy and awkward socially. However, this book can help you understand ur lack of skills and guide in the direction of overcoming it. It's not scientific or boring. The author presents a chain of lack of social skills, low self-stem, low confidence. I have been aware of my lack of social skills since I was young. I have reflected on it a lot. I already knew the things that the author approaches, however for someone that is in denial or that haven't thought much about it, this could be an important book to understand their social awkwardness and improve their skills. I also think this book could also be read by people you think are sociable but who in fact don't know how to carry a conversation. Attention spam od 10 sec, no eye contact and no curiosity about the other just selfishness. I related to something in particular...when I was 14 I realized that what made me love my best friend were her flaws. When the author says to think about what makes you weird and unique and that's what makes you loveable. I remembered that though, that her imperfections made her perfect to my eyes. This sure doesn't apply to Sheldon Copper. He is quite the opposite and still has no social skills and understands social cues. So if this is something that might appeal to you give it a read and I try because it gives you tips on how to improve your social skills.

I read a lot of self help books. I read books on how to improve your business relationships and friendships. I was ready to say that there is nothing "new" in this book but I continued to read all the way through. It is not about being all new and original. It is about being heard and having the benefit of your message received. Bill Andrews achieves that. His voice is fresh, conversational and not judgmental or overly authoritative. Perhaps you have heard all of these suggestions before, but hav I read a lot of self help books. I read books on how to improve your business relationships and friendships. Perhaps you have heard all of these suggestions before, but have you put them into play? Have you let them sink into the recesses of your mind and neglected to use these ideas and concepts? This book has value whether you are seeking new friendships, a romantic partner or improved business relationships. It has value if you are just looking to get more from your day to day life experiences. For me it even had value in helping me break past emotional associations to experiences. As the author will tell you, reading the book, even understanding the concepts, will not improve your experiences unless you commit and take action. I accepted this book to review. The opinions are my own.

Not everyone can be with a stranger and in a crowd for a party. Social Skills book by Bill Andrews discussed the facts and techniques on how someone can cope up when a certain situation about socializing arises.

Love and accept yourself. Bill Andrews struck me with these words. I never realize that these are also factors on social skills. Thanks for this book!

This book has some good basic pointers, but I found the heteronormative language and descriptions of women a bit disappointing for a fairly recent piece of work. Also, I felt there was too much negative language used to get the message across.
