I didn't like this book, there was nothing wrong with the writing but everything of any interest happens off stage. All of the attempted/ actual murder and trial etc takes place before the novel starts. In at least 80% (I have a Kindle so I am being specific) of the book pretty much nothing happens. Melody has an idea for an event, based on watching every Hallmark Christmas movie ever made, Justin loves it, they like each other but are too nervous to do anything about it. Literally at 85% the story actually hits a plot but it is all over by 89% of the book. Overall this is a clean romance (definitely fade to black and only at the very end of the book). It is extremely slow burn and Melody is the sort of Disney princess that normal women love to hate. She's a former billionaire, loves children, old people and animals, doesn't drink, swear or do drugs and spends all her time worrying about others. Justin is neither a cowboy nor a prince - I really don't get the title. I received a free copy of this book from the publisher via NetGalley in return for an honest review.

Really good start to a new series. I enjoyed this book and while it was a little slow at times overall it was a super read as a huge romance fan who loves to read mills and boons books I was surprised that this was my first read from Trish and I cannot wait to try more. This was a well written enjoyable read with wonderful characters that you cannot help but like I am looking forward to the rest of the series

Eh...this book was just okay for me. At times it was slow and predictable. I would have loved to read more flashbacks to the actual event that put all of this into motion. I loved reading about Justin's family; hoping to see some books in the future about the brothers. Eh...this book was just okay for me. At times it was slow and predictable. He also senses Melody has a secret, which he is determined to uncover. As their event planning comes to fruition, Justin knows he needs to put common sense on hold and take a chance on a love he wants to last forever. this is Melody Shaw and Justin McQueen’s story. Honestly, the things she found in garbage cans. Melody Shaw shook her head at what looked like a deflated blow-up doll wearing a red bikini, then emptied the trash can into the larger bag on her housekeeping cart. It would be one thing to find the doll in a guest room, though still odd, but the fact that someone had stuffed it into the trash can in the vending area left her with so many questions. After all, the Peak View Hot Springs Resort wasn’t exactly a pay-by-the-hour establishment. The guests ran more toward vacationing families of considerable means and couples celebrating special occasions by splurging. Once upon a time, this was the type of place she might have stayed while on vacation. But that was a lifetime ago. A lifetime a part of her still held out hope she might possibly be able to reclaim. Justin McQueen looked nearly as startled as she was, plus a bit confused to boot. She watched as a piece of paper fell back onto the desk from where it’d been stuck to his face. His ridiculously handsome face. “I’m sorry,” she finally managed to say. “I didn’t know you were in here. I’ll come back later.” “No, no,” he said, then rubbed a hand over his face as if he could wipe away the foggy aftereffects of sleep. “It’s okay. I’m sorry I startled you. I obviously need to go home if I’m conking out at my desk, probably drooling on myself.” Her Cowboy Prince by Trish Milburn is a 4 star book. I highly recommend reading. So much so she had to remind herself every day she was no longer heir to the Redmond Pharmaceuticals. That had ended when someone had taken a literal shot nearly killing her. Then Melody discovered her stepmother and stepsister had ties to a Ukrainian crime family. Melody had testified against her stepmother and put her in prison the she had to start a new life. The only thing from her old life was her first name as she felt she might not answer to a different first name. Melody went into Justin’s office and turned on the light to clean and then Justin woke up as he had fallen to sleep at his desk. Justin was the eldest son and head honcho of the resort which was surrendered by the Peak View Ranch for miles in each direction. Justin asked Melody if she had any ideas for festivities they could have at the resort to bring in people and Melody came up with an idea for single people at Christmastime. Justin really liked Melody’s idea. Justin asked Meldy to be the temporary events coordinator. Both Melody and Justin are attracted to each other but fighting the attraction. Justin was still getting over a bad break up and Melody has to keep the low profile for her chance to be safe. This was a good read. But you could pretty much predict what was going to happen. I liked how Melody and Justin fought the attraction or tried to. This did drag for me at times. I don’t really see how the title fits this book. That confused me a little. I did enjoy the romance. I liked how Molly came up with the holiday idea out of nowhere. I liked Melody and Justin together. This was a bit like Cinderella with the evil stepmother and sister, maybe that is where the Prince reference comes in. I like the characters and the ins and outs of this book and I recommend.

Will Caroline reclaim her place in Justin’s life? Will Melody’s stepsister finalize her plot to get rid of Melody once and for all? Will Justin and Melody find happiness? To discover the answers to these questions, you must read the book. I enjoyed this suspenseful, sweet romance set in the small town of Logan Springs. Ms. Milburn created realistic and credible primary and secondary characters. The lead characters—Melody and Justin—are multi-dimensional. They are strong, independent, kind, and caring. Ms. Milburn crafts engaging conversational and internal dialog. She uses parts of her characters internal dialog to reveal their backstories and their inner most thoughts. I liked how she used a dual point of view to further enhance and intertwine Melody and Justin’s lives. Readers see how these two deals with their internal struggles as they strive to live their lives in congruence with their moral compasses. This was an engaging story and makes me want to read the other books in this series. Well done, Ms. Milburn.

Melody once had a far different life, right up until she was almost killed and her step- mother and step-sister did kill her father. After testifying against her step-mother, Melody went into the Witness Protection Program and into a life that might have been safer but would always come with a constant look over her shoulders and secrets she could never tell. Melody is currently working in Housekeeping at a resort where she ends up sharing event ideas with the resort owner. A temporary change of jobs, some fun planning events… and the possibility of a romance with the perfect man for her might come at a cost. When you love someone, you do not keep secrets from them, and right now Melody’s entire life, or past life, is one huge secret. I enjoyed Melody and Justin’s romance and would recommend it – yet, I really wish there had been more about Melody’s backstory incorporated into this romance. I read the story I’m given and have no rights to ask for something different — I simply feel that would have cemented my support, understanding and liking of Melody a bit more. Nonetheless, Her Cowboy Prince is an engaging story with likable characters. The next story is due out in September, so I’ll be keeping an eye out for A Cowboy’s Kiss. *I received an e-ARC of this novel from the publisher via NetGalley. That does not change what I think of this story. It is my choice to leave a review giving my personal opinion about this book.*

This is a bit of a twisted Cinderella story but there is also a hint of romantic suspense thrown in for good measure. Heroine Melody has found herself in witness protection and working as in housekeeping at the Peak View Hot Springs Resort while looking over her shoulder in case her stepsister has discovered her identity and set assassins on her trail. Justin, hotel joint owner and Logan Springs’ most desirable bachelor, is jaded when it comes to women after discovering his ex-girlfriend is only interested in him for his money. Despite this, he can’t help feeling drawn to Melody, the hotel’s newest housekeeping staff member regardless of her reluctance to have anything romantic to do with him. Melody is in Logan Springs under an assumed identity after an attempt on her life. She’s frightened of being recognised, she’s scared to trust and as she gets to know Justin and begins to fall for him she’s frightened he might get caught up in the mess that is her life. This is a sweet romance which for the lost part moves along nicely. Most of the characters are believable though I couldn’t quite accept Justin’s ex girlfriend. She simply didn’t come across as real to me. I also struggled a little with Melody’s backstory. Having said that, I enjoyed this story and I look forward to reading more from Trish Milburn.

But honestly, didn’t we all expect her to gain the attention of the “prince” Justin finding true love in the process. I certainly would have been disappointed if this had not happened. With that said, I will say it is well told without as much drama or suspense that would hinder the focus of the Melody finding more fulfillment in her life through new work and a new relationship. The relationship progress naturally and so does the extend of the danger that may still be following Melody. I liked Melody and Justin as well as their story. Other than the title of the story that didn’t make sense until literally the last page, this was a light read with nothing deep to be found within it’s pages. 3.75⭐ This was such a sweet, light, easy going romance. That had a slight Cinderella/Christmas element to it and in a way reminded me of a Christmas TV Movie. As they're easy to watch, light on angst, and full of likable characters. Not to mention they have engaging storylines. And that's exactly what Her Cowboy Prince was, which made it very easy to read and enjoyable too. And with plenty of potential for future stories featuring the McQueen brothers, I would recommend this story to others. **I wa 3.75⭐ This was such a sweet, light, easy going romance. I was also a little disappointed with the book’s title, as it didn’t fit or describe Justin at all. Will I give book two a go? Yes. I’m hoping that series will improve with the next instalment.

I received this book from NetGalley in exchange for an honest review. What an awesome book! I loved the romance, the chemistry between Melody and Justin. The suspense surrounding Melody’s life was really compelling to read. I liked the way Melody slowly began to interact with her coworkers, her neighbor and Justin’s family. I found the plot very realistic where there was an evil stepmother and stepsister who pushed Melody out of her own life so she had to hide in witness protection to stay alive I received this book from NetGalley in exchange for an honest review. Her Cowboy Prince (Book 1 in the Once Upon a Western Series) by Trish Milburn. This is Melody Shaw and Justin McQueen’s story. This was a great read with a sweet romance, suspense, mystery, secrets, and entertaining characters. I really liked Melody and Justin’s characters. Man, there are so many obstacles in their way. Will Justin and Melody overcome these obstacles to take a chance on love? I enjoyed the supporting characters too. Looking forward to the next books in this series. Her Cowboy Prince is contemporary western romance. It is loosely based on the classic fairy tale, Cinderella, with a hint of suspense. It’s an engaging story with likable characters. I loved reading about Justin’s family and the supporting characters. I have already read book 2 (The Cowboy’s Kiss) and am looking forward to book 3 for Wes, the last brother’s story. I do hope the author writes a story for Marty, though not a brother, he’s an interesting character and I see a wonderful story for hi Her Cowboy Prince is contemporary western romance. "Received an Advance Reader Copy in exchange for a fair review" A quick light read with a great cast of characters. I liked the way Justin and Melody gradually fell for each other. Melody’s issue is well handled and her struggles realistic. Her compassion and heart for Marty make her a great character and we also get a glimpse of how this young man might turn out to be an amazing protagonist. An impromptu nap and an unlocked door lead Justin and Melody to an attraction they can’t seem to fight. Melody battles with the lies she’s forced to tell as Justin wants to get closer and she starts to make new friends. But secrets can’t stay hidden long. The constant back and forth between Melody and Justin, with the promise of something just around the corner kept me on the edge of my seat. 5 stars!

The suspense is killer when it comes to Justin and Melody. She's a woman of mystery that keeps her secrets close and her heart under wraps. He's a man with a plan intrigued by the woman whose erected an invisible shield. Their connection is intense. Can he convince her to let down her guard and give in to the power of love? Her Cowboy Prince is a tale of shattered trust that begins with the ultimate betrayal and reveals the healing power of falling in love. The suspense is killer when it comes to Justin and Melody. Good read I chose this rating because the book was good and held my interest. It was a little heavy on the heroine's angst, but basically it was good. Since she was in witness protection program and not a good liar, you can understand the angst. Plus the fear of being found by her wicked stepsister....and killed. Enter the hero....cowboy, resort owner, and all-around nice guy. And the sparks fly. No explicit sex, but lots of romance. Highly recommend. Well written Good romance filled with mystery and great descriptive passages of Montana. Thoroughly enjoyed Melody and Justin’s story however I have my usual complaint the abrupt ending. I wish they would weave the yarn a little longer that you have the story well sewn up. I know they want to tease so that you will purchase the next book in the saga but it is annoying. Hence the 4 Stars highly recommend you read it .......!

Melody and Justin--the perfect pair! Witness protection can really mess with ideas of a romantic relationship! From the very beginning, Melody lied to everyone, even someone she might be interested in, so even if the relationship went smoothly, it would be based on her created background. A wonderful story I couldn't recommend more highly. Suggested sexual encounters. You may want to read first before your teens--not a hardship! Enjoy! Melody and Justin--the perfect pair!
