Demon Child (Clem Starr: Demon Fighter #1) This book was a proper roller coaster of events and emotions. There was a lot of world building and character development. The author is completely new to me, so I was not certain right away how I feel about Clem and the idea of this new world, but soon enough I was hooked. There was a lot of world building and character development. The author is completely new to me, so I was not certain right away how I feel about Clem and the idea of this new world, but soon enough I was hooked. Clem is an amazing and entertaining character and the book is narrated from her point of view. The events and dialogues are interwoven with her thoughts which are hilarious most of the time. The story is quite serious, but Clem deals with the grim reality in her own way, with inappropriate and rude humour and we get to experience the wonder of being inside Clem’s mind. I had moments of uncontrollable laughter, she is so wonderful. The author truly managed to translate that wonderfulness into words. I think what I liked the most is Clem’s self image and self confidence. There is not enough description to figure out how exactly she looks like apart from being of average height and having loud red hair, which the covers did not manage to portray for some reason. There are some attempts at body shaming, which she cuts down from the start. We do know she loves cake. And she loves to eat in general. However, she is fast and strong and skilled, and trains almost regularly. So, Clem could basically look like any girl. And that is absolutely fantastic. The best part, however, is that she feels awesome and she is comfortable with herself. Clem does not use her appearance to judge herself, but her skill and actions. Her physical appearance does not define her. There are two main male characters, vampires Nic and Kisho. There is no triangle there, but a lot of chemistry and some kind of weird friendship, or kinship in some way. Nic is a motivational speaker, very charismatic celebrity and Kisho is part of his pack. The funny conversations among the three of them had me laughing constantly. There are some interesting side characters, and of course there are the Vampire King and The Mayor. I got sucked into the story like vacuum. I could not stop reading it. The author managed to invent a new approach to vampires and society on the verge of knowing about them. And the author managed to give a fresh approach to relationships among three people that does not involve usual competition, love triangle, threesome, or jealousy, which was quite refreshing. I am not saying that there were no emotions involved, quite the contrary as the chemistry was off the charts, but it was new and different. As a result, I started reading the next book immediately. Moonlight Virgin (Clem Starr: Demon Fighter #2) The story continues where the previous book stopped. This book is narrated alternatively from Nic’s and Clem’s point of view, but there is more focus on Nic in this book, or I should say, Nic gets equal or slightly more time than Clem. The story is as gripping as the previous one, with regular dose of humour. The author’s writing is superb, and the character development absolutely fantastic, as she goes deeper into development of Nic, Clem, Kisho, Vlad and the Mayor. We get to meet Nic’s whole pack and get a bit of insight into their personalities. As with the first book, I got sucked into the story and could not stop and started the next book immediately. Maybe it is the further development of the world and the characters but I liked this book even better. I don’t see this series as different stores but more like one continuous story with some break in between. The author’s portrayal of Clem is amazing, and not just the portrayal but the idea of Clem’s personality. She is incredibly confident without being self-absorbed, she is a great fighter but still careful and cautious, and she is apparently quite good looking (judging by the reactions of other people) without being arrogant about it. She is not an activist, but she stands up for what she believes in when she finds herself in a situation that requires her action. Clem is, without a doubt, one of the best female characters ever created. Nic is another story. Nic is so completely self-absorbed that he is mostly oblivious to certain things that do not correspond to his personal thoughts and beliefs. Being in his head was one funny experience. Regardless of being self absorbed, he has a big heart and he cares a lot, but he does not want to care, so he is fighting it, and that is hilarious. Surprising in this whole episode was Kisho, who previously gave an impression of a vulnerable sensitive person. When situation asked for it he rose to the occasion and demonstrated a great strength and resolute character. Overall, I am impressed with this series and I will be very sad when I finish it. Vampire Prince (Clem Starr: Demon Fighter #3) What an explosive ending to the story! The last book (for now) was a roller coaster ride from beginning to the end. And I must say, although there is an actual ending this time, it is not final. I am quite grateful for that as I am not ready to permanently say goodbye to Clem, Kisho, Nic and all the other fabulous characters. The whole series was so great, entertaining, full of action, full of great humour. The dymanics between Clem and Kisho, and Clem and Nic are so different and so complementing and balancing. Kisho brings out her soft emotional side, and Nic brings out the stubborn fighter. I am not referring to a love triangle but their closeness and friendship and companionship. It is absolutely impossible for me to imagine these three separated in any way. Books are best read in order. The reading order is: Sex Demon (Clem Starr: Demon Fighter #0.5), which is the same as Incubus (Clem Starr: Demon Fighter #0.6), Demon Child (Clem Starr: Demon Fighter #1), Moonlight Virgin (Clem Starr: Demon Fighter #2), Vampire Prince (Clem Starr: Demon Fighter #3), Merry Clem-mas (Clem Starr: Demon Fighter 3.5), Undead Alchemist (Clem Starr: Demon Fighter #4), Mystery Widow (Clem Starr: Demon Fighter #5), and Super Starr (Clem Starr: Demon Fighter #6) coming soon.

Astoundingly Superb Kat Cotton’s Clem Starr series really is astoundingly superb. I read each of these books separately and can guarantee that if you’ve not done so yet you are in for a lot of fun, and you should definitely buy them as a bookset. Luckily such a bookset is available for the initial books, so I highly recommend Clem Starr: Demon Fighter Box Set - Books 1-3. Here are the reviews I posted for all three books. Luckily such a bookset is available for the initial books, so I highly recommend Clem Starr: Demon Fighter Box Set - Books 1-3. Here are the reviews I posted for all three books. Demon Child (Book 1): OMG. OMG. OMG. Just when I thought I was getting tired out of anything involving a vampire along comes this wonderfully superb novel. I so very much want to be Clem, the lead in this story who is the perfect snarky, sexy, tomboy (yes you CAN be both) strong kick-a** heroine of the series. She's just ideal. I'm not going to give a summary of the book, both because it's so wonderfully convoluted and complex, with so many things facing our poor heroine, that I couldn't do it justice and because the kindle blurb writer (clearly more talented than me) has done a wonderful job doing precisely that. Bottom line though is that this is a very (very) well written book with lead and supporting characters and a thrilling action-filled plot which are very (very very) astoundingly superb. Highly recommended is an understatement. I'm totally hooked. Moonlight Virgin (Book 2): Disclaimer: While I won't spoil anything about this book there's no way to avoid spoiling some details about book 1, Demon Child. You definitely need to read that book before you read this book. Frankly though, you definitely need to read that book anyway as it's too good to miss and it provides really essential background for this book. - - - Ok, my review presumes you've read Demon Child. - - - This book alternates between that of Nic, who is busy trying to train his new pack member Vlad (the name he gave Demon Child, who he's fascinated with, and not just because of the unicorn blood), and that of Clem who is in Tokyo with Kisho hunting a kitsune of all things (even though they know nothing of the city and don't speak Japanese, and all Clem knows about kitsunes is what's found in manga...). Then things get interesting as the Mayor makes Nico an offer he can’t refuse: "save the city, save ... Demon Child". Things get pretty antsy from there as our dual track of action, thrills and snarky attitude ensues. And let's not forget the Vampire King. Definitely not. Bottom line here is easy. If you loved book 1 (and really, how could you not) then you're bound to love this book too. Highly recommended. Vampire Prince (Book 3): Ok, Vampire Prince, book 3 of the Clem Starr: Demon Fighter series, is clearly a case of The Good, the Bad, and The Ugly. In reverse order, first up is the Ugly: the Vampire King is back and not happy at all (as in “call out the hounds of War” angry). The Bad is that it looks like the only one who can kill him is “the gentlest, sweetest vampire” ever seen by our series star. That’s the Good here: that star is Clem Starr, demon fighter extraordinaire and kick-a** heroine of my dreams (plus her friends, and even Vlad, can’t forget them). There ain’t nothing that really gonna stop our Clem, be it Vampire King, a** of a Mayor or annoying Demon Fighters Council. She’ll have it all in hand - and still get the “serious Clem and Kisho time” she so desires. Great fun, great plot, great characters and great writing. One word summary? You guessed it: Great. (And, of course, “great-ly” recommended). Oh yeah, before I forget: you can read this book as a standalone and really enjoy it, but the prior books were equally fantastic and will act as multipliers of your enjoyment of this one (heck, you’ll even understand the significance of Vlad - and I love Vlad).

A great way to read all three books that make me laugh. Book 1 A fun find that was full of snark, one liners and a young heroine who is blatant and in your face. What Clem thinks is what we read about. More snark, swearing, and sex references then some other urban fantasy, but it was still a great read and not full of nasty sex scenes even though Clem fights demons using her sex appeal. More light S&M and talked/thought about sex instead of graphic sex. I liked the story and the few twists that sh A great way to read all three books that make me laugh. Clem and the vampires Nic and Kisho were especially funny together. Book 2 Clem, Nic and Kisho are back and the story was funny just like the first one. Clem is her usual funny, sarcastic, say what's on her mind. Clem and Kisho are in Tokyo hunting for a kitsune. And Nic is back home training Vlad. The story bounces between Clem and Nic and is full of eye rolling scenes. It is so brash and funny and full of random things Clem says that made me go WHAT? Never quite knew what was going to happen next as they all seemed to be wondering through the story with a supposed destination in mind (I think). But that was part of the fun of reading it to see what crazy thing happened next and who would show up next. Book 3 Clem, Nic and Kisho are back and just a snarky and crazy as the previous books. Their interactions among themselves and others are a hoot and so worth reading. They are not the "typical" good guys. They just make me laugh. This story was full of action, snark, and steamy scenes here and there. Just a blast to read to see if they would win against the Vampire King. I thought the story was well written as usual so I felt I was right there and could easily picture everything. Liked the random twists that popped up.

I read each of these individually, but I highly recommend buying them as a set. It is a fantastic series that I know will please any urban fantasy lover. Demon Child I enjoyed this fun, original urban fantasy. I enjoyed Clem's snarky, take no prisoners attitude, and the fact that her power is sex. I loved that the story was set in our world, but with a paranormal element. I loved the sexual tension between Clem and Nic. She is just as snarky and funny as she was in the first book. This story has the characters more separate than the last book, but you aren't left in the dark about what is happening to them. I love when characters are strong enough to carry their own story line in a series, so this makes me very happy. There is also all the action, adventure, excitement, and twists that keep you on the edge of your seat. I'm even more excited about the next one! Vampire Prince Clem is back and just as kick-a** as ever! I didn't want to put this one down, and I'm glad to see that it isn't the end of the series. The action is non-stop in this one. The romance is still steamy, which I think balances out the action, and the moments of humor keep things fun. These have been some of my favorite books that I have read this year, and I highly recommend them.

I found Demon Child to be a very good read one that is hard to put down. Clem Starr is a demon hunter who uses her sexual woes to entice a demon before killing it. She starts working with two vampires Nic and Kisho .She wonders on there relationship and is surprised in the end. Things are not always what the seam. She has feelings for Kisho but things turn south because of her actions on a job. But all is not lost as Kisho will be joining her on her next job. Clem, Nic and Kisho are back and not just them... hmmm you may wonder well read the book to see. The story keeps you captivated ,characters are great with lots of personality. A hard to put down book like the rest roller coaster ride from beginning to the end. this book ends and not on a cliff hanger. There are more Clem Star books and all can be read as stand alone. But I would suggest start from the beginning. You wont regret it.

Demon Child- -Something Wicked Is Afoot This was really different. At times I laughed or smiled at the antics of Clementine Starr, Kisho, and Nic. The dynamic of this group is kind of messed up. I love this series, can't wait to dive into book 4. Clem Starr is a Demon Fighter she kills demons with the help of her magical sex aura. Clem Starr is basically catnip to demons making her irresistible to demons, vampires, and whatever else she happens to try her powers on. This series tells her adventures and it's definitely funny, action packed and interesting enough that I didn't realize I read through all 3 books until I finished reading the book series. Awesome I haven’t enjoyed reading a set of books so much in a long time. I would love to talk about everything that was fantastic but I would spoil it for other readers. Clem the kickass, swearing heroine who didn’t care what anyone thought of her, the relationship between her and Nic the sexy vampire with the quick, sarcastic comments that she gave back just as quick and the gorgeous Kishinev and the incredible Vlad. Lots of action and laugh out loud conversation. Highly recommend these books.

This is a fun series. You get a lot of snark and laughter along with the fantasy and adventure and romance. I recommend you read them all as you don't want to miss out on the journey. Clem is a real original and you never know what to expect from her The vampires in her life are just as unique. You have a real diverse group who love each other even while they are fighting.
