Zoey Proctor was not a lucky woman. Not in getting involved with an unscrupulous criminal. Not in going to prison for a crime she didn’t commit. Not in losing contact with her beautiful infant daughter, with no hope of seeing her for fifteen years. Oh, and then in prison, she got diagnosed with leukemia. In life, Lilith Hazelwood was the most powerful witch in Oyster Cove Zoey Proctor was not a lucky woman. Not in getting involved with an unscrupulous criminal. Not in going to prison for a crime she didn’t commit. Not in losing contact with her beautiful infant daughter, with no hope of seeing her for fifteen years. Oh, and then in prison, she got diagnosed with leukemia. In life, Lilith Hazelwood was the most powerful witch in Oyster Cove. In death, she is determined to find and punish her murderer. Once enraged by the fact that her body parts had been used for organ transplant, she now sees the beneficiaries as the best means of avenging her own death. If they would only stop being sidetracked by silly diversions like solving human murders and finding love. Zoey’s illness leads to an early release from prison, and the frantic search for her daughter leads her to Oyster Cove. A blood transfusion gives her health and unruly telekinetic abilities. But what she wants more than anything is to be loved by the child who never knew her. And to prove her innocence of Oyster Cove’s latest murder. She can’t help it if she’s a felon!

We find Zoey Proctor in prison where she's been for 8 1/2 yrs. But she's not guilty, really she was framed by her ex-boyfriend Dalton Spritzer, who's disappeared with their daughter. Zoey is given a hardship release because she has leukemia. She hires a P.I. to find Camille, who turns out to be in Oyster Cove. When Zoey confronts Dalton, he lures her to an alley and stabs her, leaving her for dead. Luckily she's found and rushed to the hospital and into the care of Dr. Svenson. Luckily she's found and rushed to the hospital and into the care of Dr. Svenson. She's given a blood transfusion which cures her leukemia and gives her another gift. Compliments of Lilith Hazelwood, the biggest baddest witch around, until she was murdered. Zoey now moves things with her mind and she can't control it. Not yet......And as in all cozy mysteries someone is murdered, but not who you were hoping it was. Iris Kincaid does such a good job keeping this series fresh and interesting as you're trying to figure out why this person was murdered or was he murdered in a case of mistaken identity. Reminds me of Miss Marple in Agatha Christie's mysteries. I received an advanced copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.

The Witch's Blood is the seventh book in Iris Kincaid's One Part Witch series. Zoey Proctor was wrongfully charged as a drug dealer when her boyfriend hid evidence in her stuff. Worst of all, she was pregnant and as soon as the baby was born, it was taken away from her. Zoey expected to serve a fifteen-year jail sentence, but when she is diagnosed with terminal leukemia, she is set free. With only a few months left to live, she sets off to find her daughter but finds out that her ex-boyfriend to The Witch's Blood is the seventh book in Iris Kincaid's One Part Witch series. To make matters worse, he's willing to do anything to make sure that their daughter never learns the truth about what happened to her mother. Overall, this was another great addition to the series. The plot is fast moving, and the characters are interesting. It is highly recommended to read each of the books in this series in order.

Dalton was a horribly despicable person who was beyond vile to Zoey and Camille. I loved how Zoey and Justine worked together for a better second chance at life. It was really sweet how Ajax took on the father roll to Camille even before he and Zoey got really serious. It made me laugh when Finn used Wanda as a lie detector. Fun Fun short mystery. Zoey has extra obstacles to deal with and extra goals. Fin is again trying to solve the case. I would like to see more interaction with the donor recipients but still great fun to read.
