The three stories included in the For the Love of Animals are all pretty different between each other, but they all bear the trademark of their talented author. Dali the Dog is a Blackwood security classic, with a surprising touch of romantic comedy. While the settings and the situations are military, and there is plenty of action, the whole storyline is rather theatrical, with continuous twists and plenty of key turning points.  Carmen’s and Nate’s characters are perfectly in line with the smart, intelligent, sassy profile of the other members of the team. Their dialogues and banters are fun to read. Dali is a cute and entertaining side character. Overall, Ms. Noble has succeeded at concentrating in just a few chapters all the key components of her Blackwood Security tales, gifting her readers with another irresistible, action packed, funny book. Picky the Pony is a sweet, delectable short story. Sarah, the heroine, is a gentle, sweet, warm hearted persona, but also an intelligent, resourceful and independent woman. Her fairytale adventure is a precious cameo episode that warms the spirit and leaves  the reader smiling. Houdini the Hamster is a funny Christmas story, ironic and entertaining. Page after page, the little hamster rekindles Cara’s spirit, makes her rediscovery friendship and is the involuntary facilitator of a promising chance encounter. Cara is not Ms. Noble’s typical heroine. She is a teacher, living an ordinary life. She is intelligent and has a heart of gold. Her thoughts and actions are witty and spirited, making her a lively and captivating character, that the reader will surely enjoy I voluntarily reviewed an advanced reader copy of this book. In this special book we finally get the story of Carmen and Nate as well as 2 short stories with the fun and love of 2 special animals. Should you have missed it, this book is written to support an animal sanctuary with the proceeds :-) Dali the Dog - Nate and Carmen’s story: 2 assassins, 1 target, 1 poor little puppy & 1 family drama all comes together with a little murderous action, a lot of heat and a different kind of action between Nate and Carmen. All spiced up with Elise’s usual humor (yes, I constantly laughed out loud) and blunt style - no clean version here. My only complaint is that is was too short and not a full novel - but that’s just because I can’t get enough of Elise’s writing :-) Picky the Pony: Impulsive purchases, a stubborn pony, a walking bush and a swollen food is the main elements in this cute little story where “Picky” brings a handsome man into Sarah’s life - maybe intentionally maybe not, who really knows what goes on inside the head of stubborn pony, but either way it seems that he tries to repay the love that Sarah has shown him. Houdini the Hamster: A lonely Christmas turns into new friends and possibly a new love with the “help” of a little hamster. Sweet story - who doesn’t love it when a pet returns your love by bringing in a bunch of hunky firefighters? All in all yet again another book from Elise that is worth your time and money - and you’ll support needy animals while enjoying a great read!

I absolutely loved these short stories!!! It was awesome to finally get the full story of Carmen and Nate, rounding out what we know about the beginning of Blackwood Security. The additional two short stories we're really cute, and I honestly would love reading them as full-length novels. A great read for a great cause! I absolutely loved these short stories!!! They end up working the same hit on Lozano, a drug dealer who uses proceeds to finance terrorist campaigns agains the government. Dali is a puppy at Lozano’s house who is mistreated and scooped up by Nate. When Carmen and Nate meet face to face, sparks fly. Lust turns into love which turns into much more in a very short period of time. Elise’s characters, action-packed plot, and steamy sex scenes never disappoint. You’ll hate the super scummy bad guys and cheer for the not so pure good guys (Carmen, a sniper, and Nate, an assassin, are a good guys). This story is shorter than most of Elise’s novels, but it is still exceptional! If you are a fan of the Blackwood Security Series, you’ll love this book. If you’re new to Blackwood, you’ll love this book and get addicted to the series, but don’t worry… it’s a good addiction! :) No Cliffhanger and a HEA! Picky the Pony Maybe acting on impulse and getting lost while horse back riding isn’t the worst thing ever, when a hot military guy saves the day. Sarah has a heart of gold in this short, yet satisfying story. Houdini the Hamster Being alone on Christmas Day and over Christmas break is a depressing thought for Cara. Luckily, one of her students buys her a hamster so she won’t be alone. And, Houdini actions introduce her to a lot of hot guys in this very quick, intriguing short story. I’d give For the Love of Animals 10 stars if I could! I voluntarily reviewed an advance copy of this book and then purchased my own copy for my ebook library. How could I not... all proceeds go to charity! Thank you, Elise! :) The fact that all of the proceeds are generously being donated to an animal rescue in Egypt (Janet’s Wadi) makes this a win-win book that you can’t afford not to purchase! Elise, who lives in the UK, adopted a dog named Gigi from Janet’s Wadi in Dahab, Egypt! You can learn more at her Facebook page (Elise Noble - Author) or sign up for her newsletters. I love them. You won’t be disappointed!

A great prequel and 2 short stories In tbe first story "Dali" we meet Carmen, an expert sniper and Nate, a Blackwood Security assassin when they cross paths, both trying to eliminate the same enemy - drug lord Lozano. In that first effort he escapes (temporarily) but Nate rescues a dog "Dali" in the process. Carmen is also trying to avoid her family's matchmaking efforts. After a mix up and a needed solution, Nate becomes Carmen's "fiancee". Needless to say they are drawn to each other despite their differences and Carmen thinking all men are sexist pigs after working with them in the Mexican special forces unit. Short story but lots of action, humour, sex and a rescued dog. A great back story to find out how Nate and Carmen got together and how Carmen joined the Blackwood Security team. The second (clean) story "Picky the Pony" was very brief but endearing. Picky (short for Picnic) was an impulse buy by Sarah who has made a string of bad decisions from her ex boyfriend to the dilapidated house she bought online. A chance meeting when she went for a ride at dusk and got lost leads to meeting someone new. The story flowed nicely and I was a little sad that it was so short. I would have liked to read more about where thus meeting would head. The third short story "Houdini the Hamster" was another delightful short (clean) story about a teacher would would be alone for Christmas and a student/mother gave her a hamster so she wouldn't be lonely. All goes well, even better than expected having a new furry companion... until it escapes. Enter a tribe of firemen to the rescue including one special one who is quite taken by Cara. Another one that I was sad that the story was short - as if ending at the beginning of a new story for Cara, but sweet all the same. Highly recommended. (If you don't like sex scenes, skip over those in "Dali", but please consider buying this anyway as all proceeds from this book will be donated to Janet’s Wadi, an animal sanctuary in Dahab, Egypt.

I love everything about this book. The cover is fabulous, the wring is excellent and the characters are real, funny, complex and likeable. The proceeds from this book going to such an amazing animal rescue charity is the icing on this literary cake. Dali the Dog .. Carmen and Nate's story has been hinted at in previous Blackwood Security books but has been a long time coming. It was definitely worth the wait. Sparks fly but not just from the chemistry between them. The verbal sparks, the sarcasm, I love everything about this book. The verbal sparks, the sarcasm, the humour a dying grandma and a very complex and challenging assassination ... and Dali the puppy ... all add up to a brilliant, clever and laugh out loud book. It is safe to say these two will never forget when they met. Picky the Pony ... who know an impulse buy at a horse auction could lead to something else. This is a short but sweet cute meet story. Picky the pony is indirectly responsible for Matt rescuing Sarah and Picky .. Houdini the Hamster is hilarious .. I have played a very similar game with a hamster and can totally relate to this wonderful, hilarious short story. I cannot recommend this book highly enough .. it is just brilliant, wonderful, clever and at times laugh out loud funny. If you only buy one book this month .. make it this one.

I love it when an author decides to write a book for charity. Since I love animals, this cause is near and dear to my heart. Not surprisingly this book was as good as the cause if not better. This is the story that many of Elise Noble's voracious readers have been long anticipating. The story on how Nate and Carmen met and became the strong husband-wife duo that they are in the Blackwood series. Dali the Dog was even funnier than I thought it'd be. And that says something. Elise Noble is very witty, no doubt about that. I read this book in the middle of the night because it's the only time that this mother of three can find any uninterrupted time to herself. And lo and behold, this book made it impossible to be as quiet as a church mouse. I'm talking bed shaking, feet kicking, tears streaming down my face from laughing so hard laughter. My husband at one point during the night because he thought there was an animal in the apartment. No that's just me dear snorting like a pig and braying like a donkey from laughing so hard to this hilarious book. And the two short stories at the end were just icing to an already wonderful slice of splendid cake. You must read this book! *I reviewed an advance copy of this book but all of my thoughts, ideas, and opinions are solely my own.*

I really, really liked all 3 stories in this book. As usual with Elise's books I was left wanting more! I really would like these stories to be expanded upon, maybe in future books, hint, hint. I donate to my local Humane Society and have been wanting to donate to another charity for animals, but have been unsure as to what organization I could donate to that wasn't a scam. I know there is supposed to be a Humane Society of the United States, but don't really know if that is legitimate or not. I figure animals are animals no matter where they are so that sanctuary would serve my purpose of somewhere to send dodnations. How did Hammie get under the floorboards?? I was able to read an advanced copy of this book in exchange for an honest review of the book.

Fantastic! The Blackwood novella is a military suspense and rom-com story with a touch of whimsy thrown in for good measure. Awesome novella! I really enjoyed reading about two great characters like Carmen and Nate, and of course Dali the dog. The two short stories were great as well! As an animal lover, I love reading about stories with animals in them, and these stories (one with a pony, the other a hamster), and how they bring people together was heartwarming. Even more so that the author generously donates all the proceeds of this book to an animal sanctuary in Egypt; how cool is that?! Would definitely recommend t Awesome novella! Another winner. Using humor she continues to develop her characters and plots. Nate and Carmen’s story was exciting and fun. The short stories were equally enjoyable. The first story was Blackwood and the dog, a supporting character. Hero and heroine, delightful. The case of Dug Lord assassination and Mexican corrupt government wove together with a saved dop and a romance made this a good read for me. I still have the 2 shorts to read. Ms. Noble's writing is always page turning. The first story was Blackwood and the dog, a supporting character. Hero and heroine, delightful. Elise never disappoints and this is a brilliant read. It was great to live the back story of two loved characters from the previous books. Don't worry you will enjoy this even if it is your first books by this fabulous author, I will be very surprised if it is the last Blackwood book you read. This book contains three different stories. The latter two are adorable love stories about love of animals and finding love..The first story is an amazing story which also has the element of love of animals, but,it is the story of Nate and Carmen who are the best of blackwood security..it's really interesting to read about the two very unique personalities of the blackwood..This story is a complete package having every kind of emotion in a very precise amount..I loved this story.
