Women all over the world took their fashion cues from the Princess of Wales and followed her metamorphosis from awkward teenager to glamorous international fashion icon.Aware of the impression her fashion choices made, Diana quickly and deftly made the leap from dressing for herself to dressing for the media. After the birth of her second son, Harry, she took on more sophisticated styles and chose designers she felt understood her, including Catherine Walker, Victor Edelstein, and Bruce Oldfield. Later, after her separation from Prince Charles, she gained confidence and turned to a wider range of designers, such as Moschino, Chanel, Versace, and Stambolian. Shorter hemlines and brighter colors, along with a more modern hairstyle, reflected her increased confidence. Stunningly illustrated with more than two hundred photographs and original drawings of designs-some bearing the princess's own handwritten comments-- "Diana: Queen of Style" features interviews with Diana's favorite designers and advisors, and celebrates her most important outfits, along with her hairstyles, accessories, and the stylish touches that became her trademarks. Containing rare insights into how Diana chose her outfits, and what it was like for top designers to have the princess as a client, this unique volume is a tribute to the Queen of Style and a perfect pick for any fashion-conscious fan.

In taking another look at this fabulous book I remembered how much I adored Diana. She was 6 weeks older than me & I have to wonder what she'd be like, and wearing, now at age 59. I followed her from the first Sloan Ranger phase to her slick sleek final years. She had such good taste with so few misses. She set the tone for my group of girlfriends on what was in at the moment. We wore cute sweaters, ruffled collars, some cut their hair like hers. As she became more business like in her clothing so did we. She was it, whatever it is. She was our icon and is to this day. Seeing all the wonderful clothes and reading about each one & it's designer was such fun.

What wonderful fashion and photography. She was truly a style icon. It was nicely done with background info on the designer and how they styled each gorgeous dress. And that she sold most of them for charity speaks volumes to the wonderful soul she was.
