4 stars for the first couple(Hye-sung and the Alpha Dojin), bcs their relationship started with a pretty huge non-con, while I really loved the second couple and I wished there were more chapters about them, bcs Heesoo and the master were just too cute, and I also hoped that the author would tell us that our sweet beta could have kids, but it seems that in this world only omega can give birth. This didn't stop the author from posting many cute art of them with their kid, only wish that there was 4 stars for the first couple(Hye-sung and the Alpha Dojin), bcs their relationship started with a pretty huge non-con, while I really loved the second couple and I wished there were more chapters about them, bcs Heesoo and the master were just too cute, and I also hoped that the author would tell us that our sweet beta could have kids, but it seems that in this world only omega can give birth. If telenovela was a manhwa, it'd be Love is an Illusion lmao. Plot I can't spoil too much but the conflicts are too telenovela-like. You have NO idea how much I eye-rolled and face-palmed at some of the things I read here. The situations that Hye-sung suddenly finds himself in always baffled me. The only good thing I like about the plot is that they use the omega-verse setting not only as a reason for sex but as some plot-devices. Otherwise, I found most of the things happening in this manhwa down If telenovela was a manhwa, it'd be Love is an Illusion lmao. The only good thing I like about the plot is that they use the omega-verse setting not only as a reason for sex but as some plot-devices. Otherwise, I found most of the things happening in this manhwa downright stupid. The time-skip after *that situation* (view spoiler)[(the baby was born) (hide spoiler)] also threw me off guard. (view spoiler)[Also, I have to say this out loud but forceful sex by the bottom IS rape too, okay? Rape is rape. Non-consensual sex is rape. Whether it was initiated by the bottom or the top, it's rape. There's no amount of alcohol, omega in heat, alpha in heat, or any other situation can justify sex that is performed without consent. (hide spoiler)] Characters The characters are one of my biggest issues I have with this story. There is no reason for the author to make Dojin an alpha who hated omegas. What does that fact have to do with the story if he just ended up falling head over heels with Hye-sung? Is it just to make readers feel like Hye-sung is an only exception? But if so, why not establish WHY he is an exception? Maybe Dojin ignored Hye-sung's omega-ness because he fell for his kindness? Humor? Sensitivity? The main problem here is Hye-sung himself is not likable at all! LMAO. It's VERY hard to sympathize with both characters because even if I want to believe Dojin's love for Hye-sung, Hye-sung himself was an asshole. From my point of view, there is zero reason for any connection to develop between them except out of pity (Dojin) and out of necessity (Hye-sung). Artwork The artwork is actually quite good. Character designs are pretty. The colors are nice. The author said she enjoys drawing sex scenes and it shows because the scenes are actually hot and I can feel the emotions oozing from the characters. To be honest, that's the only thing I find very okay with this manhwa. Overall Review 1 star or 2 stars; that is the question. I finished this manhwa feeling more frustrated than I am delighted. 1 star means I didn't like it. But strangely, I liked it enough to read all the available chapters in two days. I guess this means I'm a bit of a masochist? The story and the characters are stupid. But I won't lie that the author is THAT good at conveying emotions. So... 2 stars, I guess?

I don't like coercive relationships and impregnating someone to make sure they never leave you when they already come from a lower social class and are beholden to you in many ways from the beginning is just the absolute worst. It's not romantic no matter how much you cuddle and coo over them later on. Ohhhh!!!! Don't even get me started on this one... I SERIOUSLY hated Hye-sung's materialistic personality... heck, I seriously hated him period. I knew what this was going in -- I've written kind of extensively, academically and online about omegaverse, so it's fair to say I know what it is that I'm getting into so when I saw that Lezhin was advertising an "omegaverse" webtoon I was interested to see what it was going to be. When I saw it was by an author that I only knew had done a comic that was pretty much just noncon, I was a bit less thrilled. Still, I figured I would give it a try. For the uninitiated, omegaverse is a fanfiction created trope wherein some (usually) men have fantasy reproductive traits related to a misunderstanding of the reproductive cycles of wolves. Some men are omegas (this translates well to the BL equivalent of bottoms/ukes) and some men are alphas (tops/semes). Omegas have effectively vaginas, alphas have knots. Omegas have heat cycles -- and this lends itself to the tropes longstanding issue with dubious consent. The first sex scene in "Love is an Illusion" is dubious consent and it's not really a surprise that it honestly gets worse after that. I didn't make it past the Season 1 finale but every sex scene is made under some form of duress, either dubious or explicitly non consensual. That one of the partners (the omega) is financially dependent on the alpha and unable to leave his circle of protection only makes the matter actually worse. Add in a non-consensual pregnancy (because yes, omegas in this universe can get pregnant) and you get the trifecta of abusive relationships. I don't actually mind mpreg -- gender is a construct, whatever -- but it's usage here is weird and it's clear that for our main character the pregnancy is a foreign body in a literal and figurative sense. That he is effectively financially manipulated into keeping it is gross. Which may make you think I care about him as a character. I don't. Hye-sung might be the single most annoying character I've ever encountered in any webtoon ever. He's vapid, deeply whiny and while his dysphoria could have been an entirely engaging plot point it was mishandled so egregiously I didn't care enough to engage with this past Season 1. The only reason I stuck through as long as I did was honestly the art, which while black and white was pretty solidly done. The main characters were well drawn and distinctive -- I never had an issue telling them apart, which can often be an issue in lesser BL comics, and I had a really good idea of space and style. The occasional breaks into color were welcome and well done. If Fargo ever dips into something more consensual, I might even reading it.

Once again, I really wish Dojin had found someone really worthy of his love and devotion. Hye-sung is too selfish and petty... ugh... but well... Dojin loves him sadly... Kyahh~ Byul is just too cute! I loved that. Still, Hye-sung is still unworthy. lol... Loved it but I'm really only rating this as I have because Dojin, Byul and Heesoo x Dojun. lol... still liked the story in the end. What a fun ride! 3.5 One Extra star for the world's cutest baby Byul! 😍 Though I cried out of frustration at some almost non consensual sex scenes. (At this point I can't even rant anymore since it's so common in every freaking manga I've found, especially Manhwas) I finished it for Byul. The ending left me curious about a lot of things. 3.5 One Extra star for the world's cutest baby Byul! 😍 Though I cried out of frustration at some almost non consensual sex scenes. My like/dislike ratio for him is 20%/80% I feel so bad for Do-jin sometimes like he deserves to be appreciated and loved. Like really loved. This freaking manga had me shook. The first volume left me with a cliffhanger that I was on the verge of killing the freaking Omega, but in the overall point of view is that the story was great, with great characters and A LOT OF EROTIC SCENES. The second volume of the book was even better than the first one, very cute, sexy and well written.

I don’t expect much about this comic but it turns out to be realllllll good. Everything is good from Characters, story and art tho I didn’t like that it’s black and white. Story is simply sweet. Dojin is just such a sweet husband. I liked the secondary couple too. The story is just excellent. I wish I could read some more like this stuff.

Started with having a baby and ended with marriage after bonding, living together, meeting the family, and kind of dating after all of that but before the wedding (and turning down the initial proposal). For all the Hyeseong is the "useless omega," he really comes across as more of a brat. Dojin comes from a rich family, and for all intents and purposes ignores their way of life so long as it doesn't fit in with what he wants to do at the time. He should maybe be more worried about what/where he's going with Dojun (because of course brothers need to have similar names too).

Although there's a couple of dubious consent scenes, which they're hard to bypass in BL or so it seems, it was a fun read, the art is top notch and once Byul makes an appearance, all ovaries explode. I found Hye-sung to be extremely annoying. He was a gold digger. He only cared for money. He almost didn't give a flying fuck about his child because he wasn't ready to take on the responsibility of being a parent. and I understand that. But the way it was all handled was so stupid and unnecessary. He ran away like the selfish coward he is without even looking at his own child. Did he ever have a meaningful conversation with Dojin on why he didn't want to take care of the child? Instead of it all, he took the pregnancy and the child as leverage. "I give birth, you give me money". Does he have any pride?? God.... Dojin is a r*pist who sweeps the pregnancy and the keeping of Hye-sung locked in his apartment under the rug called "love". It is not. He became infatuated with an omega without caring what Hye-sung thought of it. Dojin r*ped him and then said "I'll take responsibility". You r*ped him, blamed it on the pheromones, and now are saying that you are going to take responsibility over a crime you committed, but the victim is the one who will end up with the pregnancy and it all??? That's just stupid and ridiculous. And then the extra. This just shows how toxic Dojin is. ok so Hye-sung is a bit attracted to other omegas. ok you're jealous. Then why don't you have an actual conversation to him about it??? Instead, you set up a "trap" then proceed to forcefully have sex with Hye-sung. r*pe, again. and also force him to say "I love you" and you tell him "you're mine"? Hye-sung isn't property. He doesn't belong to you. Honestly, what the fuck. The serious moments were all covered up with comedy when those things should've been addressed like how omegas are socially pressured and sexually harassed. This is not a light matter but it was never shown. It was just a matter of fact. One thing that infuriates me to no end is when the omega is harassed and the alpha sweeps in to save him. but no one mentions how once the ml/alpha was the one harassing the mc/omega. Why is it okay if you do it but once another stranger does it, it's now morally wrong? Now, the second and third side couple. huuh they're all problematic. while I sometimes don't mind a bit of an age-gap, the flashback to when Heeso was around 11 and Dojun in his early twenties was disconcerting. ok, now they're adults. But it still doesn't feel right, somehow. At least they seem like a healthier couple than the rest of the two others. Chowon and Kyungsoo. girl. sighhh what to say??? and after the latest extra?? Chowon is one hell of a problematic character. His personality was like that of a devil's. He wanted everything to go his way. A nice husband, a good house, maybe even a child. When it didn't go his way because Dojun didn't love him and thanks to the incident with the guy breaking his leg, Chowon started crumbling down. Well, we do know that his personality was horrible even before Dojun. Since he's a dominant omega, he's used to everything going his way thanks to the pheromones. But this developed into anger issues. He even went as far as to kidnap Heeso cuz he couldn't understand why Dojun would want Heeso instead of him. Now, he meets Kyungsoo, they somehow end up having sex (?? super weird development). yare yare after a guilt trip they are in a stable relationship but Chowon still has to take pills for his anger issues (?). Kyungsoo doesn't want to accept that Chowon would yell at his assistants and forcefully tries to make Chowon nicer. How? By r*ping him. You cannot, and I myself cannot stress this enough, solve problems by simply having sex. You have to communicate with your partner so that your relationship can be stable and healthy where you trust each other. Chowon tried to let go of his past slowly but Kyungsoo wanted to accelerate it. A thing you can't do since it is a personal conflict. You can't simply say "don't be depressed" or "don't have anger issues" and expect them to resolve magically. This couple had potential on the redemption arc and the overcoming of Chowon's personal issues but it was all wasted and rushed. The only characters I liked? Dojin's sister, Byul, and maybe Heeso. the story itself never had much potential but if you make the characters hot then you don't have to worry about anything. I'm so close to giving it a 1 star after writing all of this and realizing I never enjoyed the story.

First, I would just like to say that the art is literally gorgeous. The colored scenes were super detailed and beautiful. They also added more emotion to the already very raw scenes. It was also really cool to see the characters in color for the first time too. Although the colored scenes were sporadic, they were very pleasing to read. Now that I've gotten through everything good I have to say, I'm going to get into the grit of the story, character by character. Dojin: He was very sweet and considerate to Hyesung from the beginning. I really like his nurturing personality. However, I didn't like how he handled consent in some situations. I remember, on multiple occasions Dojin did not listen to Hyesung voicing his discomfort with sexual advancements. Also, something similar happened when Hyesung forced himself onto Dojin during his heat cycle. Regardless of the circumstances the actions of both were unacceptable and wrong. In all honesty, some of the sex scenes come off as forced and overall uncomfortable. Other than that, his character was pretty well rounded. Hyesung: Although everyone says he’s super annoying, I thought he was very refreshing. He wasn't the typical bottom (personality wise). His fiery attitude helped distinguish him very well and like I said, it was refreshing. Yes, at times he got on my last nerve. I was honestly super annoyed when he left the hospital when Byul was born. The whole dilemma could have been solved much faster if the couple (Dojin and Hyesung) had just spoken. Also, I feel like Dojin's whole breakdown scene (at the hospital) that caused the misunderstanding was completely unnecessary. With all that being said, I feel like Hyesung's problems where only exaggerated because of his lack of communication. But, towards the end, he goes through some major character changes and becomes a lot more likable. Honestly, his willingness to changes was like a breath of fresh air. Heesoo: I'm not even going to sugar coat this one. I hated his character (at first). I felt like he was way too clingy with Dojin. In most situations he was just a hindrance to Hyesung and Dojin's relationship. The fact that he tried separating Hyesung from Byul really bothered me also. I only began liking his character when his relationship with Dojun blossomed. Because only then did he begin respecting Hyesung and Dojin’s relationship. Dojun: I don’t really have much to say about him. Overall he was a pretty cool character. His super calm and laid back personality made him the polar opposite of Heesoo, which created a nice contrast. Other than that, I feel like he was a nice addition to the story. Also, his relationship with Heesoo was absolutely adorable! That’s all I have to say for this webtoon. (Also, If you see any grammatical errors, plz ignoring them, lol.) Thanks for reading my review!!
