How have I lived without this cookbook? Imagine: No more calls out for pizza, takeout from Chinese restaurants, or fast-food stops! Instead, my family can always have home-cooked wonders without all that fat, sugar, additives, carbs and sodium. Cheaper and better! King has a website where you can subscribe to get recipes and the ingredients delivered right to your door. I didn’t subscribe, but, for those more pressed for time than money, it’s probably a great option.

This is one of the best cookbooks I've owned! I am not a fan of cooking. I have tried several recipes in the book and they have all turned out great and been super easy. My family's favorite of the ones I've tried so far were the Sea Salt Pork Chops and Potatoes with Gravy...this recipe had the option to prepare it in the slow cooker or the pressure cooker so I threw everything in my instant pot and we had a delicious home cooked meal in under 30 minutes. I love the option for the freezer meals...there are 2 weeks of meal plans in the book with shopping lists for both...I have always wanted to try this but felt that it was too complicated to put together myself...this book makes it very easy and the recipes look great. I love that the recipes are family friendly...the ingredients are common and things that kids will enjoy. I will be using this book for many years to come, highly recommended!! I received this book from the author/publisher to review. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

These aren't recipes that I would make, but I appreciate how she organized them, based on how much time one has to cook that day. I will say that I am shocked at how many of the pictures are of the ingredients. We know what raw chicken and cheese looks like. People want to see the finished product. This wasn't a helpful book for me, but hopefully it is for someone else! I'm a foodie so I absolutely love cooking and trying new foods as well as dishes. Gourmet or country cooking, does not matter. Throw it at me! Eat at Home Tonight, is the perfect mix of gourmet type cooking, down home cooking and quick and easy. With this cook book you will definitely be exposed to new flavors, at least I was. I was also pleasantly surprised to see slow cooker and instant pot recipes all in one book. I don't have to buy two different cookbooks when its all in one. While my favorite cooking method is my stove I wasn't short-handed there either. Tiffany King, the author has helped with that too. My Favorite Chicken and Dumplings was really good and tested just like my own. The author gives you three different cooking methods in which to cook them--which was great. Favorite sweet recipe was the Cherry Vanilla Ice Cream--perfect for a hot summers day today in Alabama. Within the 200 pages of thus cookbook lies some really great family recipes for the on the go family. Ingredients can be thrown into the slow cooker and done by the time everyone meets up again for dinner. The author combined some really good, delicious recipes for us to enjoy.

I love this cook book. My husband and I have found all of the recipes we have tried delicious, easy, quick, and healthy. Our kids loved the recipes we have tried, and of those we haven't, we look forward to preparing soon. This is really one of the best cook books I have found in years. There are some recipes that are traditional, with a few added touches to liven them up. There are recipes that as so simple you can involve the kids in their preparation. These recipes are so simple, tasty, and easy to make. I am so impressed with how “down to earth” these recipes are. There aren’t strange ingredients that I never have, instead these are recipes that I could pick up and make almost any of them with just the food I already have in the house. Then you simply put them in the freezer; when you are ready for that meal, take it out and put in the fridge the night before, and in the morning put it in the slow cooker; then you have a nice meal come evening. If that weren’t awesome enough, this section includes a shopping list for all the meals, making even grocery shopping easier! Many of these recipes can be put in the slow cooker. I love being able to just put a meal in the slow cooker in the morning and forget about it until it’s done. Most of these recipes also have instructions for your pressure cooker if you prefer. This cookbook truly takes away the excuse to just order out food. There is even a section on food you can take with you to eat on the go! Seriously, no more excuses to not make a home cooked meal.   Recommendation: I highly recommend this cookbook to anyone! I have been showing everyone I know about this cookbook. Even if you aren’t a real busy person, there are days when you just don’t feel like spending a ton of time prepping, cooking, and cleaning up after a meal. There are so many incredible recipes in here that will accommodate any mood you are in. *I received an advanced copy of this book from the publisher. A positive review was not required. I received an advanced copy of this book so that I could try some of the recipes. A review was not required, but I ended up really liking the book and so I'm really happy to be able to share my favorite things about the book with others who might find it helpful. We all know that it's more nutritious and budget-friendly to eat at home, and that eating together as a family is good for kids. It's not always easy, though, especially with today's busy lifestyles. I love that the recipes in this cookbook are organized into chapters that are designed to overcome some of the things that get in the way of eating at home. Having a few simple but delicious go-to recipes can make all of the difference for busy families. Our favorite recipe so far has been Tacos al Pastor, which the recipe suggests cooking in the Crockpot, but which we made in the InstantPot instead. They were really easy, but also delicious. I ate the leftovers on a salad for lunch the next day. I'm looking forward to serving the individual pizzas the next time we have company for dinner because I love the idea of every person being able to personalize their meal. I don't usually buy cookbooks because there are so many recipes online, but I'm so happy to add this one to my collection because it's not JUST a collection of great recipes, it's also a quick and easy reference when I'm just on the verge of eating out instead. I love having a book full of excuses to stay at home for dinner tonight!

I enjoyed this book so much! I love that it is broken down by different categories, especially since I am a busy mom. Some night we have practice and I need a crockpot recipe and other nights we have nothing so I can take my time and actually cook a meal. I myself and one of my kiddos are picky eaters and I found that these recipes are still great for us. The cookbook is absolutely beautiful filled with pictures and easy to follow instructions!!

"Eat at Home Tonight" is designed for busy families (or really any busy person) who struggle to find time to eat at home. True to its description, the book gives several recipes that make cooking a healthy meal feel like a breeze. I am all about new food ideas! This cookbook is unique in the fact of how it is organized and also it has some recipes that I never would have thought to make. This is quickly becoming one of my favorite cookbooks. The recipes are organized to address the challenges busy families face to eat at home. The recipes are simple, down to earth, kid friends and can often be adjusted to accommodate low carb eating. It would be perfect for cooks for cook by recipe.

The most useful recipes for me are probably the sheet pan roasting recipes included under the chapter heading "I Don't Have Time for Dishes Tonight". These are mostly meat and vegetables, so they don't include the refined carbs common in the first chapter, "I Only Have 15 Minutes Tonight". Also intriguing are the two 6-in-1 Menu Plans under "I Want to Cook for the Whole Week Tonight". These are not simply ways to use the same basic meat preparation in 6 different ways throughout the week. Rather a technique for prepping (and freezing in gallon zip top freezer bags, if you like) six slow cooker (with a pressure cooker option in some cases) meals in a very short time (she says sixty minutes, but it would probably take me 2 hours) is described, with one of the menu plans being, Chipotle Steak Tacos Lazy Marinated Chicken King's Chicken Noodle Soup Italian Sausage and Peppers Mozzarella-Stuffed Meatballs Gingered Pear Pork Loins, complete with shopping lists. The author has a meal plan service web site at eatathomecooks.com (membership $14/month or $84/year), where it appears one of these 6-in-1 menu plans is included along with other weekly meal plans each month. I really only bought this because Amazon had the Kindle version on sale for $1.99. Before purchasing I downloaded the sample and what I saw of the recipes I thought I would like the rest of the book so I bought it. Got this cookbook (and joined the Facebook) in the mind frame of (1) teaching my children how to cook with new (to us) recipes, and making better food choices, as well as expanding our meal plans with new meal ideas. I just received the book today and did a quick review. I love the layout of the recipes, the photographs with every meal presented. We had already tried out 1 recipe, and plan on making a second recipe tonight. Really looking forward to testing most of the recipes presented.

Sometimes I really like these books. This one really spoke to me. Some useful tips for putting meals on the table quickly or making meals that can cook slowly and be ready for whomever is ready whenever. Basic simplifying steps for life with a busy family. Chili Mac has never appealed to me in the slightest. Now, as I anticipate making my chili tomorrow, I'm thinking of trying the other with leftovers. Sometimes I really like these books. The amount of pictures of raw meat in this cookbook is astounding. Even when I did eat meat that would of turned me off. Second of all, lazy much? The point of the pictures in a cookbook is to show the finished product. Third of all, definitely no good recipes in this even if you do eat lots of things in the typical Standard American Diet (which I don’t).

I can’t say enough good things about this cookbook. I’ve tried 8-10 recipes so far, and my husband and I love all of them! His favorite so far is the chicken pot pie. Mine is the African pulled beef. It’s so nice trying a new recipe, confident it will taste good, with easy to find ingredients.
