I really enjoyed the perspective that the editors and various authors took with this book. The emphasis of the volume is on how structures, networks and discourses can lead to the creation of transnational deployments. My particular focus, for research purposes, was the chapter by Reno, but I also fond the chapter by Nordstrom particularly helpful. I can highly recommend this book to anyone interested in the formal and informal structure of African states.
