This was one of my fun, cute mystery reads, a romantic suspense, you could say. It was a nice diversion between the intense thrillers and not so intense books. So that doesn't remain in the forefront. Paige and Quentin have been friends forever till they cross the line with a kiss and get into romance and relationship. Meanwhile an old murder and skeleton gets revealed by Paige, and the murderer starts getting antsy when the murder weapon is sold by mistake to Paige. The story rolls on... This was an easy 2 hour read though I went slowly through its pages as I wanted to savor the entire atmosphere of a small town life. I had begun to guess the identity of the murderer, but I soon stopped following the clues. So my niggles were told to shut up. I just wanted a good, sweet mystery which I could read without too much stress or concentration, and this book fit the bill. This is the 3rd book in the series, but can be read as a standalone. The other characters of the first 2 books are friends of Paige so they just make fleeting visits in this.

That case reopens to a murder case. Several ladies disappears. The clues point to hero as a suspect. The heroine sets to find out who's breaking into her store, finding possible suspects for those missing women and the murdered teenager. Keeps you guessing who the real killer is until the end. I enjoyed the mystery, the little town and its inhabitants. It was such a delicious read on a cold night for me. Low 4 stars from me. I received this cosy ARC from Kensington Books/Lyrical Press through Net Galley. Thank you!

Hidden Secrets by Jannine Gallant is another Siren Cove book. It is a suspenseful book with danger, mystery and romance. There is a balance between the romance and the suspense, blending both together wonderfully. The two main characters, Paige and Quentin have a long friendship, with that develops into more. When Quentin becomes a suspect in a police case, they must work together to clear his name. Especially with the uncertainty in their relationship, the romance seems realistic. The danger and the suspense kept me on edge trying to solve the break-ins and the missing person case. There are twists and turns in the cases that make several people suspects. The level of suspense rises with those twists making the ending unpredictable but perfect. This series gives you a kind of “Twin Peaks” look at a small town, not the warm homey place most would want to live. Hidden Secrets is a haunting mystery, romantic too but not cozy at all. Like the others in the series, it can be read on its own. Also there is not a cliffhanger or unresolved issues between the two main characters. An ARC of the book was given to me by the publisher through Net Galley which I voluntarily chose to read and reviewed. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

Jannine Gallant's third installment of her Siren Cove series, HIDDEN SECRETS, is as comfortable as the lifelong friendship between restaurateur Quentin Radcliff and antiques shop owner Paige Shephard. The slow burn kicks in when they decide to push the boundaries of their relationship and take a chance on love. After all, they’ve loved each other forever—they have to decide if they “can figure out how to be in love.” But sometimes love isn’t the only answer, particularly when it’s been in front of you for a lifetime. Love and attraction and chemistry are the easy parts—trust is the challenge. Quentin’s last two girlfriends have turned up dead or missing, and he’s the scapegoat. Were it not for Paige’s unwavering trust in him, the investigation might not have turned its attention to an old, unsolved crime. And when Paige attracts the killer’s attention through her most recent antiques acquisition, she comes between him and the cover-up that’s been going on for years. *Originally published at BookPage: https://bookpage.com/features/23478-s...

Paige and Quentin have been friends since preschool but never taken that friendship beyond BFF status. When Quentin comes to Siren Cove to ready his latest restaurant for business he and Paige do move on to a new relationship level with the understanding that no matter what happens when he leaves they will remain friends...hopefully. At times Quentin seemed a bit immature to me but he did grow as the story progressed. With a serial murderer on the loose, break-ins, kidnappings and arrests this book was fast-paced and action-packed. There were plenty of potential suspects but in the end the serial killer was dealt with. It was fun seeing the couples from previous books and I wonder if there will be more books in this series or if Siren Cove has seen enough murder, mayhem and craziness and the author will move on to another place to write about...or perhaps remain in Siren Cove and maybe have a tamer romance for a change? Hmm… Thank you to NetGalley and Kensington-Lyrical Press for the ARC – This is my honest review. 4-5 Stars

Surely Quentin isn't a killer. Paige is sure of it. Not after they've connected romantically after years of friendship. They're both building businesses in the small town of Siren Cove and things are looking good but then a cold case is reopened and more bad things happened. This is romantic suspense set in a small town (I'd move if I lived there given the body count in this series of slightly interlocked books.). It's nicely written and twisty enough to keep you engaged. Thanks to net galley fo Surely Quentin isn't a killer. Paige is sure of it. I've read quite a few books by Ms Gallant and she continues to please. This one is maybe the best. It's been a long time that a book has kept me reading past my usual bedtime. An antique dealer has something that can lead to a murderer. I had a lot of fun trying to figure out who the bad guy was and never did nail it. The romance between two childhood friends was so believable. An absolutely great read. I've read quite a few books by Ms Gallant and she continues to please. This one is maybe the best. A cold case and an antique dealer…an excellent pairing in a not-so-sleepy town called Siren Cove, where villains hide in plain sight. Suspense comes from two places in this novel. 1) The race to discover murderers before Paige becomes the next victim. 2) Paige’s budding romance with her long-time friend, Quentin. Gallant artfully weaves both plot tensions into Hidden Secrets. Definitely a page-turner!

Rcvd an ARC at no cost to author..(netgalley) This was the first book that I have read from this author, and she kept interested so I was happy about that. So Paige gets reacquainted with Quenton and they start a budding romance. Then we have a couple of situations that arise and we have loads twists and wondering who in the world is committing these things and who can you trust?

A delightful page turner. Fun friend romance. Starts off really creepy, but then it switched to a love story atmosphere. Good friend relationships. Humorous dialog. Not quite a cozy mystery due to the near foul language, but not too over the top. Plus some intimate details, but once again, not so much as to be offensive. An entertaining romantic suspense tale. Thanks to the publisher for providing a copy via NetGalley.

If you want an entertaining, well-written, page-turning romantic suspense, then this is the book for you. The author nails the small-town atmosphere and does an excellent job building tension. The romance is sweet and unfolds naturally. I love the creepy beginning and did not guess the killer. One of my favorites of Jannine Gallant’s books. Highly recommend!

Paige owns an antique shop in Siren Cove. Quinten is her best friend. He has moved home to open a restaurant. As the lifelong friends try to figure out if what they have can last or not, two women have vanished, and Quinten is the last one who has seen both women. Can Paige figure out who is behind this before he strikes again? I loved this book I was hooked from the first chapter.

I've been following the Siren Cove series since its inception. I really liked the first novel in the series, had problems with the second and am pleased to report that this third novel in the series was a huge improvement over book 2. Despite the slightly redundant title, this friends-to-lovers, serial killer whodunit/romantic suspense novel was a very good read and it gets 4.5 stars from this reader. This novel centers around two best friends practically from birth, Paige and Quentin, who admit I've been following the Siren Cove series since its inception. This novel centers around two best friends practically from birth, Paige and Quentin, who admit to loving each other (as friends) but who have chosen different paths in life. Paige Shephard has remained in her hometown of Siren's Cove, Oregon, and now owns an operates Old Things, an antique store. Quentin left Siren's Cove, made a name for himself as the owner of 5 successful West Coast restaurants, and he's back in Siren Cove to open his sixth restaurant, having just purchased what was once The Poseidon Grill. No one is happier to see him than Paige, who is in her early thirties, and who has used Quentin as the yardstick by which she's measured every other man she ever dated, and none of them measured up to Quentin Radcliff. The two 30-something best friends seem to have successfully navigated the treacherous waters of the "a man and a woman cannot just be friends" relationship, and while both are attracted to one another, and admit to loving one another, handsome and charming Quentin has had no problem filling his bed with attractive women for both year-long relationships and one-night hook-ups. None of these women have ever measured up to Paige, but he's not ready to settle down and start raising a family, while Paige sees how happy and successful the two couples, who were the primary characters in the first and second books in the series, have become, and she wants that for herself. Since Quentin will be in Siren's Cove for several months trying to get The Poseidon Grill cleaned-up, modernized and refitted, he and Paige eventually agree to risk their friendship by becoming friends with benefits, agreeing that if things don't work out, their lifelong friendship will remain intact. Although the two characters seem to hit it off in bed, the sex scenes between them were pretty vanilla, and very lackluster. Simply telling the reader that the sex is passionate is far less effective than showing the reader exactly how passionate it is, at least for this reader. As the novel opens, Paige is at the farm of elderly Zeb Stillwater, buying antiques from the huge hoard of items in his immense barn. His grandsons show up and accuse Paige of trying to cheat the old man, but Zeb is adamant that Paige paid a fair price for everything she bought. Paige leaves and has two more buying appointments that day, and it's not long after that that the break-ins begin at her antique shop, and the mystery of who's breaking in but not taking anything begins. What the reader has already learned in the prologue, is that there is a serial killer of women who's been staying beneath the radar for decades, burying his victims in remote areas and none have yet been found. That's about to change, especially after Paige and Quentin go to cut down Christmas trees for her store and home and find a tarnished silver necklace snagged on a log in a nearby creek, a find that will put Paige in serious danger. I do have to admit to finding myself disliking Paige for being utterly clueless about her own safety. Quentin, buys her a dog, but Paige still repeatedly forgets to lock her doors, and repeatedly goes off alone in search of both antiques and following what she sees as opportunities to take the suspicion off Quentin, and putting herself in harm's way. As mysteries go this one wasn't bad. There were plenty of red herrings throughout, two more women who were both connected in some way to Quentin, who also go missing, leading the police to suspect him, and enough other suspects to keep the reader guessing the identity of the killer, at least until the halfway point of this novel, and even then, you have your suspicions that the author may be leading you down the wrong path. While I'm not a huge fan of mysteries, this one worked for me, and so did the fact that the two friends had more than a couple of obstacles in their path to an HEA ending. I also liked that the author used alternating narration, which drew you in to what Paige, Quentin and the killer were thinking, and the cherry on top of this romantic suspense mystery sundae is a mad race to the finish, and a truly satisfying ending. While this novel can be read as a standalone, the characters from the previous novels get more than just a walk-on in this one, and I suggest reading these novels in the order in which they were written. I voluntarily read an advance reader copy of this novel. The opinions expressed are my own.

Hidden Secrets is the third book in Jannine Gallant’s Siren Cove series and unfortunately I have somehow missed books one and two. A wonderful murder mystery, Hidden secrets has all the required elements to ensure the readers total satisfaction. Twists and turns, multiple suspects, with a little romance thrown into the mix, make this a intriguing and well-written romantic suspense. Now I’m going back to read the first two books in the series.

The mystery and the story line of the book I really enjoyed. Quentin was a good man who needed to realize who and what he needed in life. The book would have had 4 stars if Paige hadn't been the way she was. I found her to be VERY wrong in how she handled her relationship with Quentin. Instead of communicating she cut him off and made decisions that should have been handled between the two of them. Nothing can be settled if there is no communication between the two parties.
