When tragedy strikes, she takes her sister and they flee New York. They go west to hide as far from their pasts as possible. When Kara steps off the train in Creede, Colorado, not only does she notice the beauty of the land and all of the construction in town, but she’s also quickly introduced to the seedy underbelly of their new home. Lucky for Kara, there’s another newcomer in town and he rides a white horse. Aedan Casey has always seen himself as a lone wolf, traveling from town to town putting his carpentry skills to the test. But when an old friend asks for help, he finds himself in an up-and-coming Colorado town with two faces. Creede is rebuilding and becoming a family friendly place in the mountains, but when the sun goes down, the night speaks for itself. Aedan has never seen himself settling down, and certainly never in a place like Creede, but then a single touch changes his path. But is attraction enough? Can a place like Creede, even with the help of angels, bring together two independent hearts?

Sweet Story I love how Aedan was there at every step to help Kara (and Nessa)! They went through a lot in a very short time! I also loved who their angel was!

Once again, upon arrival someone tries to snatch Kara away and it’s through the help of a stranger that she is found. One stranger who lights up her life with his smile. Aedan is a traveling man, a carpenter with a magical touch with wood who has never felt the need to settle down. Yet this town with it’s dual personalities, one for the day of a typical Western town, and one by night of the underlying dangers around, pulls at him and tempts him to stay. Meeting Kara, hoping that she feels the attraction between them as well is enough to have Aedan thinking of staying in one place… with one special woman. I enjoyed Captivating the Carpenter, Aedan and Kara fit well together, both independent yet willing to depend on the other. We run into several old friends, get a bit caught up with them and continue to move some underlying threads along. This was the first time though that I felt that the story was … unfinished, questions, reasonings left unanswered. I’m going to go out on a limb and believe that those loose threads dangling will be picked up in a future story. After all, Kara traveled to Creede with her sister Nessa… so I’m guessing time will bring the answers to those questions. If you love Western Historical Romance then you’re sure to enjoy this story and this entire series. I read this title through my Kindle Unlimited subscription.

Interesting Story This is the thirteenth story in the Cowboys and Angels series. It involves sisters running from a bad situation and ending up in Creede. Meanwhile, a carpenter is needed to put the finishing touches on a new pub. This story does have a happy ever after and it leaves a path for a future story about the sister.

An Enjoyable Read Going West was an exciting and frightening adventure for these two sisters. I enjoyed reading how it was for these two young women leaving the East Coast to travel by train to Colorado in its early days of mining. To unexpectedly find friends and more made an exciting book.

A bit of a mystery This story leaves the reader will a few unanswered questions; but as the books in the series are all connected I'm sure there will be a resolution. This story was a bit different.Kara and Nessa were raised almost as princesses, in the lap of luxury. Their worl is turned upside down and they have to literally run for their lives. They jump on a train in New York going west, Kara reads an advertisement asking for people to move to Creede and contact Rev Bing. They get off in Creede and the story goes from there. Easy read and I found it very enjoyable.
