Really great issue. Can’t wait to see where this goes.

    Again predictable, but very good!

Read this one carefully. The panels and dialogue will help guide your pace. It's a contemplative story and it should be. This is a time of reflection. Also, how come I hadn't noticed that Batwoman (and maybe Batman) is Jewish? Is that a new thing? Read this one carefully. The panels and dialogue will help guide your pace. This was lovely to look at, and probably more important to me: very emotionally stirring. I love how each character had a moment to justify their presence. I like Batgirl's unexpected power of putting everyone in their place. I again respect Tynion IV for calling out his characters while maintaining a level of humanity and dignity to the characters we know and love. They are flawed. Somehow, pointing out the mistakes made in their crafting makes them even more timeless, while equally real. Somehow, pointing out the mistakes made in their crafting makes them even more timeless, while equally real. A minor complaint to how the panels were set up. In two cases I had to read the page twice because I couldn't figure out what order to put the dialogue. That kind of sloppy storyboarding doesn't fit with the calibur we expect from Detective, but I'll forgive it (and the one typo I noticed) because this is the Bat Family we deserve and boy, were we good to deserve this. :) (I'm experimenting with a personal checklist in order to understand what I look for in the genre. This got 37.5/50)

This is the best thing Tynion has ever written. Outstanding character work. The work Barbara Gordon and Kate is particularly stunning considering he’s had such a hard time with Spoiler. I wish Barrows had done the art, but this is still pretty great. Some really wonderful, meaningful facial expressions in this.

There were some contemplative moments that I enjoyed in this one. Especially the flashback with Kate and Bruce in the beginning. I felt like I wanted more in addition to all that, but I'm not sure what. There were some contemplative moments that I enjoyed in this one.
