Shifters have historically had to hide themselves from humans, or "plainskins." When a disease turns almost all of humanity into wandering undead, civilization as they know it is wiped from the face of the planet. Able to shift at will into animal form and immune to the disease, shifters quickly rise to the top of the food chain and begin to rebuild the world, forming territories and towns based on their respective species. Guy is a wolfdog shifter, feared by both species. He fell in love with his childhood friend Sean, an omega and cat shifter who was too good for Guy and his controversial heritage. Things have changed with the new era, and now that Guy has taken charge as the Alpha he was born to be, his life finally seems to be coming together--but there's always been the void left by the omega he lost, and Sean still belongs to another man. When the omega comes back into Guy's life, free from the brutal lion shifter who treated him like an object, Guy realizes he's getting a second chance. With newfound confidence, the Alpha makes his move, unaware that the demons in his past are lurking just around the corner... Author's note: This is a steamy mpreg romance with adult themes.

The Wolfhound’s Omega by Wolf Conan is the first in the Apocalypse Shifter’s series. This is written in Duel POV and I really liked that it allows me to really sink into the characters and their feelings. Sean: Earth is now having a zombie crisis. Basically, everything has gone to hell. That was six years ago. The feline clan had enslaved or killed most humans. And though Sean was promise to his Pride leader, his Omega status has made him a slave now too. The world belongs to the strong not the weak. But Sean is stronger than even he knows. Guy: he is canine, he also was very much in love with Sean and still is even though Sean turned him down so very long ago. But now Sean is back and part of his pack. He will do what it takes to have his mate, Sean be his again. Being Alpha has a great pack, known to be a good leader, but can he have love too? Really great storyline. I want more too. There is a ton yet to explore but I felt the story of Guy and Sean was well played out and very well developed. I want more!! Bring on the shifters, zombies, and a whole new world. Five Shooting Stars

Creative, engaging and a powerful shifter story. Awesome world-building that creates a believable setting in a post- apocalyptic world. Well written story-line with well drawn characters create a totally engaging read. The touchable characters breath life into this newly created world and i am looking forward to more in this series.

I love this second chance romance shifter story. It captivates you from the very beginning with world building and complex characters. Guy and Sean were separated when they were younger because of Sean's parents, but as fate would have it, Sean is given to Guy as a gift. Their attraction and chemistry has never died down, but can they past old hurts and make it work. It's a great ride to their HEA! Looking forward to the next one in the series. Loved this book and the characters. Sean and Guy get a second chance to be together but can Sean let Guy love him. after years of abusive relationship with the Alpha that his parents forced him to chose a pairing to further their situation not to meet Sean's love for the alpha from the other side of the tracks. but fate has its way of intervening. both men are full of regrets, anger, love, hurt and a tad pig headed. another good triumphs over evil story with a great HEA Loved this book and the characters. Nah bruh Sean though he was better than the alpha when they were younger and married up. When the world went to shite and the guy Sean married didn't want him anymore gave him away to the pack the alpha lead. Even when Sean is back with the alpha he is still stuck up and snooty, the alpha is chasing him. The alpha deserved better. An interesting and entertaining take on the shifter trope that pulls you in right from the start. It's a powerful story set in a dystopian world , where the characters have to reassess their place in society . The world building and characters are complex and engaging throughout. Sean and Guy are given a second chance at love in unique circumstances, and have to overcome their own insecurities and the challenges of living in a post apocalyptic environment. This was a fun world to dive into. Humans are mostly gone (well, technically they're around as zombies) and shifters are left to try and survive in a post-apocalypse world. I loved that Sean, one of the main characters, is a house cat! And that Guy, the other MC, is a hybrid -- a nice change from predominant wolf shifters. Both were easy to like and ultimately this was a really sweet second-chance romance. Just ... during the apocalypse. Overall a good start to a new series. This is my first book by this author, and I'm looking forward to the next book. (Honest review of an advanced copy of this book.)
