Although we don’t see much of James his connection to the stories is important and to have him in danger is worrisome. I hate when a character we know is in a life-threatening situation. This book was intense and kept me reading until it was done. As I’ve said many times, this is a great series. Each book could stand alone, but why miss out on everything that has gone on in the past. Irecommend this book and series!

Ellie is deep into wedding planning while running her two pizza parlors. Her best friend and soon to be sister-in-law Shannon is getting everything ready for her baby. After a double date Ellie gets a panicked call from Shannon that James is missing. After searching the house and nearby they call Russell and re Patti Bennings books never disappoint. They are well written with characters that draw you into their lives like old friends. This book continues the excellence seen throughout the series. There was 1 old murder case attached with 1 more and kidnapping, mistaking a murder suspect, break out of jail. Sheriff Russell collecting information around trying to figure out who, and why.
