I think there might be hope for this obnoxious woman! I really don't like Chase Adams. Her character is surly and down right abusive to others. She rejects authority and makes poor choices. She has no regard for others and focuses mostly on herself. I keep waiting for some redeeming factor to surface. There was a slight glimmer in this book but she has one foot in a banana peel. She needs to buck up and get her life under control. I hope she takes a step in that direction in the next book. I think there might be hope for this obnoxious woman! I really don't like Chase Adams. 2 stars is generous Where to begin?!?! So ridiculously formulated right down to get another suicide attempt. How Chase Adams is heralded as some awesome investigator is beyond me. How it took her anytime at all to solve the case when I knew pretty much right away the whole plot is ridiculous. And there is No way she would be get away with what she does in this & the other books. She's unlikable. The writer loves her & obviously passed that in to Stitts but no one else liked her & for good reason. 2 stars is generous Where to begin?!?! The writer loves her & obviously passed that in to Stitts but no one else liked her & for good reason. She's an awful human being. Best thing her ex husband ever did was leave her & move with their son. You know the son she says she cares about but still only thinks about herself. I fear this because I had hoped that once her addiction was not in the forefront of read about someone who deserved the way Stitts fawns over her & praises her but instead it took the very small amount of patience I had for this character after reading the 1st two books back to back & broke it. It wasn't the drugs that made Chase Adams do thoughtless & selfish things - it's just her. She's one of the most unlikable characters in a book I've ever read. I sadly have to acknowledge that the bad guys in the books aren't going to win because there are more books with her in it. I don't for the bad guys over the "hero" of these books because she's just awful! Stitts is supposed to be some great profiler but only seems to stand around & wait for some hair branded, secret scheme that is always supposedly self sacrificing (but not really - if she worked well with others maybe it wouldn't get to the ever so cliched part where she's in danger. She treats Stitts like crap & he seems to be for more. She makes demands she not in the position to make yet she gets her way. She needs to be accountable for her actions. She is rude, selfish with no regards for anyone or anything besides what she wants at that moment. She's like an adult toddler. She is so completely self absorbed that she misses things right in her face & magically solved it cause that's almost what it is. Magic or rather the inability to come up with a more sound plot i guess. Stitts may be in love with her but not even love will make you as stupid as he is regarding her. The beginning of the book there is an issue with his mom. He's upset. Chase barely registers that he's upset. Why!? Cause it not about her. She says repeatedly that he cares too much & she doesn't know why. I don't know either cause she's one of the most self absorbed, horrible characters I've ever read. She says the mystery about her sister drives her & the PTSD over that but it's not. That's an excuse. She was already showing signs off her adult behavior as a kid. Her dad wasn't where they left him - instead of looking for him or going to get the mom who she knew her whereabouts - she drags her little sister off to walk home. Why?!?! Cause that's what SHE wanted to do. Not what she should have done - what she wanted at the expense of others. This trait followed her into adulthood. I doubt that even after her sister's disappearance is solved she will change. She's not capable of being what the writer thinks she is. Also, the p!it had SO many holes in it that it bordered on funny.

I'm having trouble with this storyline and this character. The first book was good..being in recovery myself I understand her struggle. Relapse is a part of recovery and I hoped in the second book there would be more progress. But I'm in the middle of this third book and I'm not enjoying it. I understand that this is fiction but there needs to be a believable factor, and this just isn't believable. She would not be an active FBI agent at this point. She is doing nothing to aid in her recovery an I'm having trouble with this storyline and this character. The first book was good..being in recovery myself I understand her struggle. Ok people, if you aren't reading this series yet, WHY? So, again, here we are with an all out heart racing thriller that has more twists than a King's Island rollercoaster! Chase is an exceptional FBI agent who is a heroin addict, but trying to fight the beast. Her partner, Jeremy Stitts, I believe is in love with her, but all that is certain is he really cares for her. Chase is self-destructive to say the least, but she is a kick-ass agent! Get to reading, folks, because you're missing out on an Ok people, if you aren't reading this series yet, WHY? It was okay I'm a little tired of Chase's attitude. Instead of giving her partner the respect and thanks he deserves, she treats him like a second class citizen, doesn't offer him a bit of trust, and he takes it like a wounded puppy. Would not happen in the real world. The story line, I felt, was rather unbelievable yet predictable. I knew who "done it" shortly into the story. Sure, there were some twists that kept it interesting, like how it was done, but not realistic. Hoping the next one will be It was okay I'm a little tired of Chase's attitude. Recovery IS HARD WORK As usual Chase Adams (Patrick Logan )has done it again. Kudos for another great work. Once again great characters, the plot continues, and the storyline flows smoothly with surprisingly unexpected twists and turns. However, the reader ends the last page with a smile and an expectation of more to come in the next episode of Chase Adams FBI Agent and her partner Agent Jeremy Stitts πŸ˜€, (he's good also). This is my favorite far. Chase comes out of rehab and heads to Vegas with her partner to solve a robbery and murders of a elite group playing high stakes poker. Will she be able to hold it together or will the allure of the heroin call her back?

Another great book!! Chase is back again, this time after a little rehab!!! I really liked that the fbi got to work with someone that had a bad rap because of perception instead of fact and in the end, I love that LVPD had to publicly call the shunned one a hero!! πŸ’–

I'M CONFLICTED Okay, bottom line is I'll read the next one in this series. That said, I still don't like Chase....she's just not my kind of person, even handicapping due to her last horrors. But, the writing is great and I really like the plot. Like I said, I'm conflicted. I'M CONFLICTED Okay, bottom line is I'll read the next one in this series. Boring Las Vegas Awful book for someone who dislikes gambling and Vegas. Everything drags on in a venue of a busy land of people looking for a pay day of pure luck. Fantasy for losers, so is the book as it tries to build a story line of which no one should care.

Work in Progress I love the twists and turns. I don't know whodunit until the end. Chase is frustratingly complex. She's the work in progress and I hope she finds her way. Drawing Dead Still a good story line, but finding her sister needs to move on. Hopefully Amber Alert will get us closer to the mystery.
