I recieved a copy of this book in exchange of an honest review. I have to say I am quite disappointed about this one. I expected myself to at least enjoy it considering how exciting the blurb sounds like, but it ended up being the slowest read I've done this year. For a book that promises romance, In Her Blood kind of fell short. Not that I expected it to be full on romance (because I do enjoy a lot of action with a side of romance) but I just can't seem to find any connection, chemistry or even I recieved a copy of this book in exchange of an honest review. Not that I expected it to be full on romance (because I do enjoy a lot of action with a side of romance) but I just can't seem to find any connection, chemistry or even the relationship/romantic development between the two main characters. Out of no where it went from 0 to 100 real fast, and for someone who enjoy insta-love in several occasions, this book still doesn't do for me. Same goes to the characters, in my opinion. There's just so many things going on that it feels like there is no space for the characters to develop and for the readers to feel attached to them. Either it's the plot or new characters being introduced, at some point everything just felt so messy and exhausting. I have to actually focus on going back and forth trying to remember characters that was previously mentioned because there's just too many of them! I don't know if I like or dislike the main character, Alex Stone (love the name though) or her love interest, Jason. The whole book simply fell in the 'just ok' category for me. I do think with less characters and more organised plot line, this book could become something more. I wouldn't recommend this personally but that being said, the book is still worth to try out.

It took me a while to read this book and review it. This was a free e-book given to me by Novelreviewers.com in exchange for a fair review. I love vampires, they are my favorite monster. It is a bit different, but feels similar enough that it may resonate with that fan base. One of the many issues I ran into while reading the book is that it seemed too saturated with mystical creatures. I understand that the author was trying to introduce us to an entire world in one regular length novel, however it feels like some of the characters are just tossed in there just to add more species. Also, it seems like 7 of my favorite books that were mashed together into one. Some of the sub plots and story lines remind me of the main plots of other vampire books that I have read. I can actually point to parts of the story and say “oh this is just like {insert popular supernatural series title here}”. There are so many brothels, hookers/call girls, strip clubs and other establishments. The vampire culture in fiction is usually highly sexualized but these places seem entirely unnecessary for the plot other than to show that the main character is special and can gain access to places other people and vampires can’t. I don’t hate the main character, Alex Stone, but I don’t feel invested in her well-being either. I also think that the rate of speed that she connects with Jason is absurd. Especially after she put her foot down in the first meeting with him, then by the second encounter she had taken an almost completely different persona. It just didn’t work for me, as a reader. The book felt forced to me and I didn’t enjoy it. That being said I don’t think it is a bad story. I feel that other readers may really enjoy this and disagree completely with my opinions. It just wasn’t a good choice for me.

Fast paced vampire story with an intriguing plot. No crappy romance, just action. Of course, there is sex but the story revolves more around military new warriors and the threat represented by an old vampire. And secrets. Tons of secrets. Even if people have betrayed her, she has gained the respect of many due to her skills. It would have been a delicious read if I wouldn't have to come back to remember who the characters were. Between the bad guy, who is great one and the great one who is a traitor...Geez! Give them different name and not so similar one. Come on! It's bothersome to have a picture in your mind and have to stop your private movie to ask yourself: "wait a minute, which one are we talking about?" If not for this annoying detail, the story is worth the read. I even was disappointed at the end ofthe volume. Would have wanted to know more... :) Lucie http://wp.me/p8ObN4-6j

It took me a little longer to read this one because I was a little side tracked on what to think of it. Very well written, interesting characters, and great back store. I liked it but like I said was a little distracted and wasn’t drawn in. Reviewer for paranormal romance and authors that rock

This seems like a big issue that should be gradually uncovered, like why the main character left the agency. There were also so many characters introduced, but not given time to make themselves known, so I would forget who they are or what they are: vampire? human? government? random person? With all these characters and chapters told from different characters' POV, I still do not know anything about Alex Stone, the main character. I have no opinions about her either way. This is one of those times where I don't like multiple POVs which is rare for me. I think if the author focused on one or two character POVs and narrowed down the story more, it would be much more entertaining or gripping. I wanted a reason to care about Alex Stone or an action which made me think how much of a badass she is, but all the action thus far was outside the story.

I received a copy through Netgalley for an honest review I gave this book 2.5 stars. This has to be one of the most wishy-washy books I've ever read. Just when you think the book is leading you somewhere, the plot switches over to something else even less engaging. There is a reason I've been reading this book for so long. I've just been having a hell of a time trying to finish it because I just can't get into it. There was one central plot that I didn't really care about and then about 5 other subplots that I cared even less about. I can't help but feel a deep disappointment from this one.

DNF I asked for this book for review from Netgalley because I enjoyed the synopsis. Each time I've tried reading this story I'm not able to get past the first 5 chapters, and yes I've tried repeatedly. For me the story just does not flow well so I can't get past the confusion to understand what was going on. ***ARC kindly provided by the publisher via NetGalley in exchange for an honest review*** ***Thank you*** DNF I asked for this book for review from Netgalley because I enjoyed the synopsis.
