She traveled to Aspen Cove intent to sell so she could hurry back to her life in Denver. Little did she know, she was about to find everything she ever needed in the tiny mountain town with a big heart. Sage found herself in a place where caring for your neighbor was a way of life. In her case, that happened to be surly Cannon Bishop, the man of her dreams. Cannon Bishop was a man who learned long ago that hope was a dangerous thing. My Rating: 4.5 Favorite Quotes: …the air was filled with a scent that seemed to be synonymous with the elderly. She wasn’t sure if it was supposed to ease the pain or shut her up. It did both. I work for peanut butter cups and Skittles… I’m cheap, but I’m not easy. She’d arrived and disrupted his status quo, making him realize it had been status woe. My Review: I adored this sweet small-town romance as I have every other Kelly Collins book I have ever picked up. Her characters tend to be flawed, wounded, endearing, and doing their best in a difficult situation and the main characters of this entertaining tale, Cannon and Sage, fit this description as well. The storylines were fresh, relevant, emotive, and thoughtfully observant with hits of humor and steam. I am excited about this new series of stand-alone stories and am already looking forward to the next installment.

One Hundred Reasons (An Aspen Cove Romance Book 1) by Kelly Collins I won from Kindle Scout. It is not my type of reading genre but I voted for it because I thought it would win, it did, and I got the book. Although I don't normally read romance books unless it has a paranormal feature this was pretty good. A sweet and tender romance with a feel good ending. I guess it is good to get out of my box once in a while! One Hundred Reasons (An Aspen Cove Romance Book 1) by Kelly Collins I won from Kindle Scout. This is the first story in the Aspen Cove series and it was perfect weekend reading for me. She used to work in maternity but when her mother was admitted to the aged care ward, years ago, she decided that spending as much time caring for her mother in the last months of her life was where she wanted to be. Sage has a huge heart but a sensitive soul so each time she loses a patient she really feels the loss deeply. None more so than the recent loss of Bea. She is so affected that she is asked to take leave for a while. However, during the meeting with her boss she is given a letter written by Bea. Sage lives with her sister who also works at the same hospital as an ER doctor. They are like passing ships in the night as they work opposite shifts and don’t get to spend much time together. When Sage shares with her sister the content of Bea’s letter, she gets a firm but kind shove out the front door to fulfill Bea’s request. Bea has left her B&B homestead at Aspen Cove to Sage. Initially Sage’s only intention is to visit the small town, pay her respects at Bea’s funeral and head back to her sister. However, the first 24 hours in Aspen Cove do not go as planned and she finds herself staying for much longer, along with her 3 legged dog Otis. Sage makes friends with Katie, another person who was led to Aspen Cove by Bea. As Sage gets more immersed into the small town she also finds something special with Cannon Bishop, the local bar owner and her neighbour. Her first impressions of him were not so good but he has definitely improved over time. Something is growing between them and even though neither of them were looking for love it is definitely trying to find them. It seems that Bea had an exit plan to bring life back into Aspen Cove and even though she is no longer here, her ability to bring people together is still working it’s magic. There are 13 full length novels and a bonus novella in this series so I’m thinking that the population of Aspen Cove will probably double by the time Bea’s work is done :) ‘This thing between us. It’s been more of a storm than the one outside. You struck me like lightning. You washed over me like rain. You rattled me to the core like thunder. I’m afraid of losing everything.’

A good heart warming story about two people who are trying to learn to live for themselves. She is a kindhearted woman with a Savior complex. Always needing to try to save people/animals. She must decide what she wants to do with herself and what will make her happiest. He gave up his dreams to take care of his father after the death of his mother. Fighting a losing battle. He has an armor surrounding his heart, after seeing what love can do to a person. Being the giver and savior that she is, tries to help him see, he needs to open up and live for himself, but can she take her own advice. After getting off to a bad start, these two enemies find themselves helping each other in more ways than one. The story moves at a slow pace (in a 'stop and smell the roses' kind of way,) yet reads rather quickly. The characters have some complexities. There are some up and downs they go through. For the most part it is lighthearted, but there are some serious subjects covered. Alcoholism, and domestic abuse, as well as death (and dealing with the death of a loved one.) There is some sexual content, but it is minimal and not too graphic. I'd say it is safe for 16+. There are some endearing moments (many involving the heroine's older, grandma like patient that had past away.) There are some humorous moments as well, though it's not a rom-com.

I wasn't going to start it right away but I'm guessing you figured out that I did. I'm so weak! I kinda needed a break from all the space aliens I have been reading. Those reviews are coming soon. Now back to this one. Like I mentioned this is the first time I've ever read of this author and it won't be the last. In fact, I already downloaded the second book in the series to read. I will start out by saying I love the idea of the series. Or at least how the series started. I don't know how much Bea gifts will affect the stories to come. The heroine was given this wonderful gift and I was thrilled for her. I didn't care for how she was treated at her job but I understood that it was needed to get her to go to her new home. I love Cannon and feel for him and what he's going through. The crap he has to deal with over his father's life choices is rough to read about at times. I really felt for him. I was so happy when he finally had someone to help him deal with all the crap. Sometimes it takes someone outside the situation to deal with things that family can't. For the most part, the romance between Sage and Cannon runs pretty smoothly. They don't have a ton of roadblocks in their way. I kind of like the uncomplicated romance between them. It made for a very sweet read. Now saying that doesn't mean there isn't any sexy time between them because there is, it just means that they together are sweet. As a start of a series, this was a good one. I really think you'll enjoy the characters and love when Sage gives her "Sage advice", one of my favorite parts of the book. I also liked how she brought in someone to help Sage get through the move in the form of a friend called Katie. Her book is next so I'm looking forward to her story. Also, an abused woman was mentioned and I'm looking forward to learning more about that. Plus there is Sage's sister. Just a thought I wonder if we'll have her story? I'm not going look ahead, I want to find out through reading the series. For those of us that love small-town romance you'll really enjoy this one. There is also a bit of a surprise left to Sage by her late patient, a home in the mountain town of Aspen Cove. Sage is on leave from nursing so she heads to this small town to see why her patient left her a home and why it is so special about this town her patient wanted her to live there. One of her first encounters is with a sexy but surly man named Cannon. Since it's a small town no matter how hard Sage tries she cannot avoid running into this exasperating man and to find out that he is her neighbor is the last thing that she expected. Cannon is a man consumed by his past. His life has not turned out as he expected. He owns and runs the only bar in town and feels as though he has been handed the short end of the stick in life. H doesn't have much faith in anyone, least of all the cute but unknown outsider named Sage. Kelly Collins has written a contemporary romance full of interesting characters, funny banter, tender moments and plenty of heat! One Hundred Reasons is told in dual POV and I highly recommend this wonderful story. I cannot wait to see what story unfolds next in this series!

This is the first book in what appears to be an awesome series. Sage and Cannon are just the first characters that are going to give us a few hours of relaxing (well when they aren't being stupid) peace. I found that I enjoyed the characters and the sleepy little town of Aspen Cove. I'm eager to see how this plays out. You get a feeling of home as you begin to get to know these people. Kelly Collins has written the start of another fantastic series. One Hundred Reasons had my emotions all over the place as I read it. It is a beautiful, heart-warming story set in a small mountain town with many possibilities. Sage and Cannon are well written, and I completely fell in love with Aspen Cove. Also? This series already has twelve books so I can binge read and be satisfied for awhile still. Another bonus for me (especially right now) is she’s an indie author and I’m trying my best to support them through the craziness in the world. I’ve come to realize that for me to really connect with a romance novel it needs a few key things. First, I love a small town with quirky characters and plenty of charm. I also need the lead characters to be interesting and have relatable flaws and struggles and I also need to believe their chemistry together. If there’s a great balance between humor and heart and cute romance and sex, I’m in. This one had everything I listed, Aspen Cove sounds idyllic based on the name alone and while it has a lot going for it, it’s nowhere near perfect and neither are the residents. They have real issues and problems as do Sage and Cannon and their chemistry was 🔥 from the moment they met. I laughed plenty, and while there was some sex, I wouldn’t call this steamy. I feel like it really had a little bit of everything and for me, that’s exactly what I like! Definitely recommend this one, the whole series is on kindle unlimited too and I can’t wait to keep reading.

This had all the potential for a real good slow burn, as the main characters don't have the best first encounter, but the 'grouchy' Cannon Bishop quickly lost his somber nature. I wish there had been more build up in terms of the relationship, I didn't really get a good feel for them before it ended. I also did not enjoy the main character Sage, RN who was described as a 'bleeding heart', always there for others. This was a case of spoken not shown, because Sage often came across as judgmental and immature, her chapters made it often hard for me to finish it. The setting had so much potential, but the main character and lack of development let it down. The worst thing though, was that the big 'drama' that dragged the characters to the town, felt like it had no end. Impersonal feeling letters addressed to the characters just doesn't do it for me, that entire plotline seemed to be contrived just to move the characters where the author wanted, and didn't serve any other purpose. It had all the potential to be an absolute heartbreaker, but the author had vague one-liners written on pink paper instead.

I read this book back at the beginning of October and I've read so many books since then that I don't really remember this one. But I do know I enjoyed it enough to get more books by this author. I would probably remember it better if I gave it more time but I'm trying to get all my 2018 reads in by the end of today. This was surprising to me because modern, real-world stories don’t often draw me in; my preferred genres are usually fantastical or historical in nature. But perhaps what got me to keep turning the pages was the strength of this story’s characters; Sage is a fiercely independent young woman who obviously cares for others both on and off the job, but struggles to understand and express her own emotions. When her favorite patient, Bea, dies - Sage is left an unexpected gift from her - the ownership to a Bed and Breakfast in the small mountain town of Aspen Cove. Sage had heard stories of Aspen Cove from Bea in the hospital, but never knew it was a place that actually existed. The story that unfolds could easily be imagined as a Hallmark Movie; Sage visits Aspen Cove and meets a single young man named Cannon who is described as both good looking and emotionally unavailable. Of course, complicated feelings ensue - and both young protagonists will need to deal with their mixed emotions, including their developing love for each other. Sage also needs to decide what to do with the business that she has inherited, and whether or not she will stay in Aspen Cove. Will she choose her practical career in the city? Or will she follow her heart? In the end, this is a romance novel that, while predictable as any Hallmark Movie, is still an enjoyable read. Collins made me care about her characters enough to finish the book to the last page - even though I already knew it would have the “happy ending.” I also enjoyed the ideallic, mountain setting of Aspen Cove; it’s the kind of place that everyone would like to visit, and some people will want to stay. Undoubtedly, many fans of contemporary romance will be happy to pick up this book, and look forward to their next trip to Aspen Cove. *Received ARC of this book from Kindle Press via Kindle Scout.

One Hundred Reasons was a beautiful love story that took place in a small town of Aspen Cove. The storyline was so good, fairytale like, and kept you interested. The people who lived there took care of each other in every sense of the word. It was lovely to read about such a great community. I recently had to endure a major disappointment coming from a group of people I considered friends so reading about a great community and friendships so fullfilling somewhat gave me back my faith in people. At least in imaginary people :-) Both the story and the writing was entertaining. I can only recommend this book.

Sweet Small Town Romance. A charming story about a young woman with a heart as big as an ocean and a need to be needed. An elderly patient leaves her a B&B property in Aspen Cove and changes her life forever. First book I’ve read by this author and I will look to read more by her. I received a complimentary copy of this book from the Kindle Scout programme. I was not compensated for my review, and I was not required to write a positive review. The opinion expressed here is my own.

A Love Story To Love Oh how I wish that I had met Bea ! She imbues the whole book with her presence, like a phantom puppeteer. Sage nurses her in the hospital and finds that meeting Bea changes her life. She moves to Bea's home town after she dies and leaves her a house. She meets her new neighbors and finds new friends as well as love. A moving story. A Love Story To Love Oh how I wish that I had met Bea ! Sweet romance. I really enjoyed this even though I usually like more steamy scenes in a book. The story was really good plus well defined characters. I'm definitely going to read the others in this series when they come out. Sweet romance. I really enjoyed this even though I usually like more steamy scenes in a book. Good reading The story drew me in right away. It wasn't over inundated with details. I only skipped a small part. The people were.real and the town wonderful. I got lost there. It is a place I would love to live. Good reading The story drew me in right away. It wasn't over inundated with details. I only skipped a small part. The people were.real and the town wonderful. One Hundred Reasons What a sweet romantic book. I loved the whole storyline. Sage was a nurse that took death hard Cannon was just trying to deal with life and family. Neither looking for love.
