I don't want to give this such a low rating because I think Mr Riyadad is such a good world builder and I absolutely loved his last novel, Phantasia...but unfortunately it is so. This book is filled with world building and character building but...that's it. Nothing truly happens. It feels like this book is just a looooong introduction to the world. There is not advancement of what is seen in the first chapter, just a lot if info dumping and learning about the characters who will possibly be mor I don't want to give this such a low rating because I think Mr Riyadad is such a good world builder and I absolutely loved his last novel, Phantasia...but unfortunately it is so. There is not advancement of what is seen in the first chapter, just a lot if info dumping and learning about the characters who will possibly be more important later on. I'll be the first to admit that I don't really mind info dumping in books, but as long as something is happening. If anything, I think it book would serve much better as a prequel to the rest of the series or shortened down into a novella. Still, I eagerly await the next book to see what fantastic world is unravelled for us next!

Gorgeous world building and interesting characters, but there didn’t seem to be much in the way of plot happening. The writing style is beautifully lyrical though.

Simply brilliant! Great imagery and very creative plot. Carefully woven with lots of details. Would like to see it turn into a movie one day.
