I liked her writing style, but I guess our understanding of forgiveness-limits and attitude toward the people, who betrayed us, is quite diverse. SPOILERS! SPOILERS! SPOILERS! (view spoiler)[ I’m not the right auditorium for such plots. I’m not a forgive & forget person and I never let other people treat me bad or/and use me. But it’s what the heroine of this book did. All her past relationship with OMs were based on her sacrifices. She sacrificed her education, she supported her exes and somehow let them enjoy it. She called herself a professional doormat. I fully agree, unfortunately. I wish her character had more development, I wish she would stand up for herself; I wish she would cut off her evil sister from her life. But no such thing. Unfortunately. Overall she was a kind and soft person, she loved children, she had a kind heart – but she was too soft, way too soft!!! Her last fiancée, who cheated on her with her own sister, was not an exception from all her men. The h heard him speaking to OW and it was almost clear he cheated on her, but she was ready to marry him anyway. And if not for her twin vomiting on her dress, she would have married a man, whom he suspected of cheating. Later on she also let the hero treat her poor. He called her an easy screw (I would punch him in his nuts), he even ‘assumed’ she would eventually move on on his brothers (WTH???) and he didn’t show much respect to her (IMO). He wasn’t a complete jerk and he loved his daughter a lot. Plus I liked his respect & devotion toward his deceased wife. The only good line he spoke was about her: “She was my wife. She gave me my daughter. I’ll always love her for that…” But why should a man treat a woman good, when she doesn’t insist on it?!? I mean a real good decent man would always treat a woman right, but he was absent in this story. Well, what does bother me a lot and what completely ruined this story for me – the heroine initiated the contact with her evil sister (the one, who slept with her fiancé; the one, who betrayed her; the one, who was pregnant with h’s ex fiancé’s baby). So the h called her and later on, when h’s ex turned out to be a jerk, she accepted her sister back and helped her to find a place, she even ‘allowed’ her evil sister (who f*cked her ex) to have a contact with her new man. ARE YOU KIDDING ME??? How much more of a doormat a woman can be??? There was hardly any repentance and no grovel from her sister. Almost nothing! #?????????????????????????????# I don’t say she should have killed her sister and forgiveness is ok, as long as she hadn’t accepted & kind of adopted a person, who literally BETRAYED her. I ask myself if it’s really me and if other readers are fully OK with this situation?!? I can only speak for myself… Would I forgive and accept your sibling, who betrayed me and cheated on me with my fiancé/bf/lover? Would I accept this person in my life? Would I be ok with this person to be in my new family, with my new bf/fiancé/husband? I wouldn’t. Would you? (hide spoiler)]

I’ve been dieting and exercising for months so I could look my best on our special night. All the while, he was fucking my sister. I’m gonna need more tequila.” The Wrong Kind of Love is book one in The Boys of Jackson Harbor series and I really and truly enjoyed it. It also happens to be my first Lexi Ryan story. I’m having so much luck and fun with these new to me authors, it makes me wonder why I didn’t branch out more before, but I’m so pleased I have now. This story is about love lost then found, betrayal, secrets and lies. It really pulled me in with the smart witty plot and the drama that surrounded these characters. I read each new page with so much anticipation because I couldn’t wait to find out what would happen next, and when the secrets and lies would be uncovered, because they always come out in the end. Your wedding day is meant to be one of the happiest days of your life, something you’ve dreamed of since you were a little girl, but as Nicole (Nic) discovered, dreams don’t always work out as planned. Nic was all set to walk down the aisle and marry one of Alabama’s most eligible bachelors, but something was niggling away in the back of her mind, something just did not feel right. Perhaps it was that telephone conversation she overheard her fiancé having the night before the wedding. As she was preparing to walk down the aisle to the man she was going to spend the rest of her life with, she hoped her thoughts were wrong and he was the right man for her, a faithful and loving man. Nothing could have prepared Nic for what was to happen next; her pregnant twin sister vomiting all over her, and if that’s not bad enough, discovering the baby was in fact her fiancé’s. Nic was left with no other option than to run, run away from the only life she had ever known in Alabama, away from her cheating fiancé and her duplicitous twin. Nic knew her twin, Veronica, was set to move to Michigan for a job the night of the wedding. Being identical twins gave Nic the idea of going in place of Veronica and taking on her new position. Nic moved to the small town of Jackson Harbor and began working for the hot and broody Ethan Jackson, caring for his six year old daughter Lilly. “I can’t keep my eyes off her. Despite all signs pointing to her being too sweet for me, I’m a miserable son of a bitch who’s drawn to the sadness beneath her smile.” Ethan had been dealt his fair share of heartache and sorrow and as a result, had built up many walls to protect not only his heart, but that of his daughter’s too. Along the way Ethan had lost the ability to trust, and to open himself up to the prospect of falling in love again. He knew that once those walls were able to come down, he would be able to open up, to love deeply and whole-heartedly. The next time he fell in love would need to be the last, forever. The sexual tension and chemistry between Nic and Ethan was sizzling hot and electrifying beyond all belief, but one of the things I loved most about Nic and Ethan’s story was two lost and broken souls coming together and how the power of love can heal even the most shattered of hearts. These two were simply perfect for each other and as I read, I wanted nothing more than to see them finally reach their much deserved happily ever after. “I haven’t figured it out, and I know I’m playing a dangerous game. Maybe I’m lying to myself, but when we’re together, I believe in our love. Ethan needs to touch me as much as I ache for him to, and that connection makes me believe we’ll be okay once the storm hits.” Whilst reading Ethan’s story I got to know and also fell in love with all of the Jackson brothers. I wait with baited breath for each of their stories. I got a little taste with The Wrong Kind of Love and now I want to know more, a lot more. This was such a heart-warming, humorous, sweet and so unbelievably hot story about love, loss, family, the ultimate betrayal and learning to forgive. If you love your hot and steamy contemporary romances then I urge you to check this one out, because I have a feeling Dr Ethan Jackson will melt not only your heart, but your lady part too.

I can’t wait to read more about his brothers, they are all pretty hot! I am specially intrigued by Jake and Ava and can’t wait for their book. I highly recommend this book to all contemporary romance fans. It hit all the right buttons with me and I can’t wait to read more stories from this author.

Poor Nicole! She really got the short end of the stick when it comes to family. And the one time she decides to act out of character, it backfires in a big way. Initially anyway. I personally think every horrible thing that befalls the type of characters she writes about, is fully and categorically well deserved. Her writing fills me with anger, and makes me want to hit a boxing bag, or better still, burn her books on a pire, because the demeaning attitude that she instills in her heroines is everything that is wrong and sick regarding discrimination against women everywhere. These heroines give smart, capable, women who Know their own worth and enjoy a sense o sself esteem, who fight to be recognised and accepted, a bad name. Do you know how? I’m not being dramatic, it’s like this: I do not need to disrespect any feminine figure, even in fiction. And her characters inspire nothing but disgust and disrespect. And I’m not even getting around to write about stilted flow and undeveloped, cardboard characters and robot like dynamics. Everything else about the writing was sub par, but the heroine’s are infuriating. So that’s my focus. If you wish to read about stupid, self sacrificing doormats, who bend over backward to let people keep abusing and using them, REPEATEDLY, or heroines who are entrenchend in their feeling of being undeserving and unworthy, then of course, you have come to the right place. But my advice is, don’t do it. This was the second book and the second chance I gave this person and her awful books, so I know what I’m talking about and you really don’t have to waste your time. Go read something fun. If you are reading escapist romantic fiction, then you obviously need to feel better after finishing the damn book. Trust me, finishing this book was like swallowing a bag of nails.

Good runaway bride turns nanny and the single dad read. There are a ton of secrets and lies in this book too. This one is bit of a slow build, but also not in some ways. It’s emotional. It’s slow burn. If that’s what you’re looking for, then this is a winner.

Nicole Maddox has just run away from the worst experience ever....finding out her twin sister is pregnant with her fiance's baby. The fiance she is literally minutes away from marrying. Devastated, embarrassed and looking to hide out while she licks her wounds, Nic impulsively hightails it out of town to Jackson Harbor, Michigan. Dr. Ethan Jackson is a single dad, still emotionally wounded from the loss of his wife. He works a ton of hours, and spends his time being a broody stick in the mud. He's not looking for a relationship. Not now. Not ever. He is *not* opposed to a one-night stand, however. And who better to pass the evening with than the beautiful stranger with the sad eyes, getting drunk on tequila at his brother's bar? But things are about to get complicated for Nic and Ethan. Because secrets don't make friends, and lies break hearts. But don't worry. If we're lucky, Lexi will put us back together at the end. ;)

I absolutely loved this small town romance...lots of ‘feels’ and sweet/hot times between a widower doctor and a betrayed by her fiancé heroine. Loved all the details, the secondary characters, and especially the hero’s sweet little girl. There’s angst, there’s baggage, there’s the fear of trusting your feelings, there’s heat, and there’s new beginnings. Great start to this series—can’t wait to read all the other books!

Thanks to NetGalley for the Read Now. Sadly this book did not work for me at all! Even knowing going in that her sister ends up preggers with the h's fiance, I was hoping for some redeeming qualities from the h. I still can't fathom how a sister and no less a twin could do that to her flesh and blood. The h is such a pushover, which was mostly why this book didn't work for me. In a situation such as this I needed Nicole to be a strong character with an attitude. Thanks to NetGalley for the Read Now. Sadly this book did not work for me at all! What unfolds is a beautiful tale of two souls trying to heal from very different heartbreaks, two people who don't believe in true love anymore. I fell madly in love with Dr. Ethan Jackson. He's an amazing dad, who goes the extra mile, with a busy schedule, to spend as much time with his baby girl as he can. There is always something about a single dad that gets to me. But it's not just his love for his baby girl, its his love for his whole family. The need to be something for everyone that he can. Nicole is probably one of the BEST female leads Lexi has written to date. She's been broken in the worst of ways, doesn't want to believe that loyally and love exist anymore. Yet she gives her love so freely to a child that isn't her own. She goes above and beyond to help a family in desperate need. She sacrifices something she so desperately craves to keep a secret that isn't hers to bear. She is the epitome of loyalty and love and she stole my heart completely as a heroine! Do yourself a favor and read this book NOW! You will fall in love with Nicole and Ethan, and the entire Jackson family! I cannot wait to see what Lexi has in store next for this family, and I'm sure after that little preview I will NOT be disappointed...

A short, cute and fluffy read. I liked the writing style of this book and this is my first book by this author also. I also liked the characters! And the whole Jackson family. I didn’t expect much from this book. It was an okay read for me. 2.5 stars.

ARC received for review It was good and Ethan has some seriously HOT brothers, but he was a grade a douche-bag. Then there was the whole drama between Nicole and Veronica. Sorry, she forgave her way too quick and easily.

Nic the sweet smart nice and brave twin who always lived for the others, Ethan the kind, intractable widowed doctor, his daughter Lili, TAGAN the ultimate best friend anyone would ask for, the yummy cute handsome Jackson brothers and nana omg i loved all of them even the not so so bad grinch twin Veronica .. Every character was unique in its own way and yup the author was smart to give enough to intrigue us to know more about this lovely family. I can't wait to read the next book in this series 😍 If the book blurb didn't catch your interest i hope my review did.. It really worth reading, absolutely a 2018 favorite ❤️ P. S. the audiobook is 10/10 + i loved the author note about depression.. Thank you Lexi for this note it touched my heart in a very hard time ❤️

A terrific start to a new series by Lexi Ryan. Both main characters have had their hearts broken and are messes. A single dad and the wrong nanny at the right time make for a really fun-to-read story -- even though there are some tests to overcome. Nic and Ethan melt the pages with their chemistry. The power of love takes up residence and what follows is a wonderful second chance for the real thing -- a happily ever after. A cast of characters to meet that are all so easy to like. Ethan's little girl is adorable and added to the first book's draw. You'll also meet the other Jackson brothers and their sister and momma, too. Add in a quirky and funny friend named Teagan and Veronica, Nic's twin sister (the vote is still out on her -- the backstabbing betrayer that I'm not quite sure whether or not I can forgive enough to like or trust her). Small town romance at its best. I'm absolutely looking forward to the next book.

I'm not sure what I loved more about this story. Ethan aka Dr. McBroody Pants, our leading man, who was struggling with the loss of his wife a few years ago and due to his mom's impending trip, is in need of a nanny. He's a dedicated doctor, a loving father, an adoring brother, and a caring son. Even in his moody, broody moments, he's still amazing. Nicole aka Nic, our leading lady, is very often described as "the good twin" and I could see why with everything I read about her and the more I felt I'm not sure what I loved more about this story. Nicole aka Nic, our leading lady, is very often described as "the good twin" and I could see why with everything I read about her and the more I felt I got to know her. The title was well deserved and my heart broke for all of the times she seemed to put herself out there for those she cared about and how often she seems to have been hurt for her trouble. But her heart was so big and she couldn't seem to help being a good person. Then there was the whole Jackson clan, Ethan's family. They're one of those types of families I love where they're always in each others business but it comes from a good place. They all love each other and it's clear in the ribbing and riling. In the fighting and fussing. And in the laughter and love. This is the kind of family I myself would want to be a part of. Friends and other family of the main characters also contributed greatly to this being such an amazing story. Teagan and Ava and even Veronica all played big parts in their own ways to making this story what it was. I loved everything I just mentioned and I cannot wait to read the rest of this series and hopefully get to see all of these amazing characters find their happiness.

4.5 Stars Author Lexi Ryan delivers an intoxicating tale of betrayal, deceit, absolution, and second-chances in her new contemporary romance, The Wrong Kind of Love! Nicole (Nic) is ready to start her new life and have the family she has always dreamed of. The day before her wedding though, she hears a mysterious conversation from her husband-to-be. Should she confront him or is it just pre-wedding jitters making her doubt herself? That decision is taken from her when her twin sister, Veronica, is ill on the wedding dais and an affair between her and Nic's fiance is revealed. With nowhere to turn, Nic finds herself in the small town of Jackson Harbor where she temporarily assumes the identity of her duplicitous twin. With her heart on the line, can Nic keep up the farce despite a promise made? The Wrong Kind of Love was a captivating story and a terrific start to The Boys of Jackson Harbor series. Brimming with passion, heartache, loyalty and humor, I simply could not put this book down! Nic hasn't led an easily life, and just when she thinks it's starting to turn around, everything comes crashing down around her. Despite all of that though, Nic has a big, loving heart. She was an engaging character that I couldn't help but admire. When she's put in the uncomfortable position of lying for a good reason, her struggle is palpable. Ethan was an interesting character as well. All hot and broody. The circumstances of his previous marriage are a mystery for a majority of the book, but you know from the start that it wasn't all pleasant. He's a devoted dad though to his daughter Lily, and there were several sweet (and swoon worthy) moments of the father-daughter duo together. Ethan is instantly suspicious of Nic, maybe it has something to do with their steamy encounter the night before her employment. Or maybe it has to do with the secrets that he knows she hiding. But those suspicions can't contend with the deep attraction he feels toward her. The sexual tension practically sizzles from the pages when these two are in the same room together, and it will leave you tingling in all of the right places! Nic and Ethan's chemistry is powerful, and they made the perfect pair. I adored them. The town of Jackson Harbor itself, was a fun little quaint community full of your usual nosy body and well-intending citizens. I thoroughly enjoyed the Jackson family itself. They were a charming and rambunctious lot, and I look forward to more of their stories. All in all, The Wrong Kind of Love was a fun, sexy, and tender love story. There were heart-breaking and amorous moments that kept me emotionally engaged throughout, and beloved characters that I could easily connect with. Well, except one.... Even at the end, when Veronica (Nic's twin sister) somewhat redeems herself, I never could find it in me to like her, let alone forgive her actions. However, I loved every moment of this story, and recommend it to all contemporary romance fans!

3.5 STARS Lexi Ryan has easily become one of my top favorite romance authors. She packs steamy romance and emotional depth into her refreshingly original storylines and I devour each one hungrily. While I have to admit, i didn't feel as strong of a connection with The Wrong Kind of Love as I have with her previous work, I still enjoyed this book VERY MUCH. She packs steamy romance and emotional depth into her refreshingly original storylines and I devour each one hungrily. While I have to admit, i didn't feel as strong of a connection with The Wrong Kind of Love as I have with her previous work, I still enjoyed this book VERY MUCH. Twin-swapping, a single dad, a back and forth love/hate dynamic between a nanny and her boss, Lexi Ryan weaves together a whole lot of drama and conflict in this book and there's so much to love. While I missed some of the intensity I felt in the Blackhawk boys series, I also respect the fact that this wasn't the same type of read, that Lexi Ryan isn't giving her readers more of the same. But I did crave a bit more from these characters. I longed to feel a more intense connection between them, which would've certainly ensured a more intense connection with me. I'm torn because while I thoroughly enjoyed this book, I was left wanting more.  There's so much going on in this book, so many layers to pull apart. Nic runs away from her own devastating situation and walks right into Ethan's. These characters have trunks of emotional baggage following them around, the secrets and deceptions between them are enormous. There's pain in this story, there's lush romance, there's a heartwarming family dynamic and there's heartache woven throughout. But the fiery attraction between Nic and Ethan burns on every page, pushing and pulling, drawing them together only to drive them apart. This story is complicated and messy and difficult, which only makes their reluctant attraction that much more addictive.  My favorite part of this book is the possibilities that are born from it. This story is Ethan's but this series belongs to all of the Jackson brothers and each brother has their own story teased on these pages. I loved Ethan, love the healing journey he takes in this book, adored his brooding personality and his sensual, romantic side that I couldn't get enough of. But I especially loved the dynamic between him and his brothers and I can not wait for each of their books.  The Boys of Jackson Harbor series is shaping up to be another must-read series with a colorful cast of characters and enough drama to keep readers riveted. But it's definitely got a much different vibe. The Wrong Kind of Love is a well crafted blend of weighty subject matter, difficult emotion and lighthearted humor and it's only left me salivating for more. There's so much to love about Nic and Ethan and their complicated romance and it speaks volumes about Lexi Ryan's writing and storytelling that I'm so anxious for what's still in store for the boys of Jackson Harbor.

4 stars.. One of the best things I adorwd About this book was how the author showed the value of family and how they can influence our lives and change it to the better or even some times turn it to hell. And how love is so important whatever it is if it's friendship or any other relationship. The book also talked about depression and the author has greatly mentioned that it's not the end of our life.. and that suicide was never an escape from our real problems.. On the contrary.. it can hurt so man 4 stars.. The book also talked about depression and the author has greatly mentioned that it's not the end of our life.. and that suicide was never an escape from our real problems.. On the contrary.. it can hurt so many people around you who really care about you and love and cherish you forever. I really loved the heroin Nicole.. she was so sweet and always took care of whom she loved. She was the complete opposite of her twin sister who was so selfish and who betrayed and hurt her identical sister in so many bad ways. But in the end she finally tried to fix a lot.. and she actually quite succeeded.. The hero also was awesome and so lovely.. he no longer fought for his life untill Nick.. he decided that the battle wasn't over yet.. The little girl Lily was really marvellous and beautiful she just had her way to my heart even though she's just a fictional character.. Her role in the story was so important and added much goodness to the plot. I also really injoyed the twists through the whole book.. which had kept me wandering and on edge till the the end. The writing stile was so good and I'm absolutely definitely gonna read the rest of this spectacular series. Really loved it
