Wow After I have read one of Love Belvin's books, I feel exhausted. It's like I am in there with the characters. It's a good thing. If an author can get you to feel all the hurt, sadness, and happiness that the characters go through then that is an outstanding writer. This book sent me down through there. Emotionally!! That ending just threw me. What is Myisha problem? I liked her. Heather and Mike makes me sick. I was hoping for a little more of Wynter little cousin Asia in the book. I’ve even have gone back to reread certain portions just to see if my perspective will change on the situationship and its players,Raj and Wynter. Typically with any Love Belvin story, we are introduced to a women who will more than likely have you wanting to invite her to a spa day and a man that you can’t decide if you wanna hug or slap, this is her unique and signature writing style that I’ve grown to love. The Rhythm of Love is slightly different in that I actually felt a sense of melancholy for both characters. These two seemed to be so different by outward appearances, but below the surface they were both so obviously broken for different reasons. Without giving too much of the story away I’ll say that Raj and Winter shared some noteworthy moments particularly because of how they were thrust into a “relationship” and although their chemistry was not instantaneous, it was still hawwwtttt as hell when they decided to go for it. But just like everything else with these two, their thoughts tended to overwhelm them, understandably so, and cause a breakdown. When I was about 80% into the story, I remember thinking… just end it right now, all the stars were aligned and all was well in their isolated bubble. It was a beautiful moment for the couple, but Raj stole the show, he was so uncharacteristically smitten, it was hard not to fall in love with this dude. But of course, we got the LB special and experienced a major (at least I think it’s major) blow up and get to ‘patiently’ wait to hear more from this troubled couple as they work from the rhythm of blues to the rhythm of love. As the title suggests, this book is full of rhythm, soul, blues and love. It has a pulse, cadence and feel that is exclusive to Raj and Wynter. This is absolutely on the reread list and I would recommend it in a heartbeat.

Excellent Read! I held off reading this story for I knew once I started, I would need several uninterrupted hours to complete. The storyline was magnificent as it explained, explored & examined the different, yet intriguing relationship of Ragee & Wynter. The characters and their situations held me spellbound as each chapter revealed more of their deep insecurities & uncertainties while learning each other. Once again, Love Belvin has a well written story that I highly recommend!

I am so grateful that Book 2 is out because I wouldn't have known what to do with myself if I had to wait!!! Ragee McKinnon and Wynter Haile Blue, two people from opposite ends of the spectrum (but not really as their story advances) are thrust into a married situation, whereas one is looking to advance his acting career and the other is looking to get her uncle out of jail. Even though it appears uncomplicated it really is very complicated, no one wants this arrangement that was haphazardly put together by his bum derelict friend, Mike Brown in which he thrust them together with the lie of wanting to help Wynter, let me tell you something when I say this is a hot mess, I really mean it. "But God" those two words I am telling you changes everything, they were married in name only. There was zero communication, only social media press and coverage but that was it until Pastor Mckinnon (Ragee grandmother) came on the scene and the two who barely acknowledged each other had to pretend to be in love. And what we think may be such a cluster mess, God is in the midst, so much so that bringing Ragee and Wynter together into the same bedroom because his grandmother was there, was the beginning of the ice breaking, the guards coming down and the masks being lowered. Ragee the superstar R&B singer, producer extraordinaire and now on the rise to acting stardom is a tortured man with demons and severe PTSD, and he never allows anyone to get close to him at all and the storm blew into his life name Wynter. Wynter is a career woman who worked in the criminal justice system as a social worker/advocate which totally burned her out, she made the decision to quit her job because she was tired of trying to mend the broken, she has demons of her own and battles, a songwriter looking to turn her poetry into music and the last thing that was on her mind was getting married and realizing the great Ragee was very broken, this is not what she signed up for. "But God" in all of this craziness there He stands working His miracles, healing, pouring into, loving His two children, in fact, they have no idea that this is all God ordained and arranged. Ragee and Wynter had seemed to make great strides until an ugly family secret involving Ragee's family comes to the surface, and then the unthinkable happens, Ragee shuts down and shuts Wynter out. Wynter has just been given an opportunity of a lifetime, hurting she takes it and leaves, Ragee retreats but its too late because this woman, his wife has shown light into his darkness and how will he deal with it no longer being around. And now for the conclusion in Book 2 "The Rhyme of Love (Love in Rhythm & Blues Book 2)" which I have already started. Well Until My Next Review...Ciao Bellas!

The Rhythm of Blues I don’t know how Love Belvin orchestrates these kind of love stories. Like they are not predictable but when that sh*ts hit you it’s like something out of this world. She is just not ordinary she is above all else her writing style is so unique and captivating. This is another love by her that I fell involve with. Please don’t keep me waiting long for book 2. Raj and Wyn are my new favorite book couple after Kenny and Lord.

👏🏾This👏🏾Book!!! ... really it’s a masterpiece. So many layers and so much time spent reading through them all! I loved every minute (and hour) of it! This was such a captivating read from start to finish. Raj’s relationship and personal growth throughout this book was dope to witness and Wynter’s realness was very refreshing. This book deserves more than 5 stars, honestly! I’m off to the next book because if it is anything like part 1 then I’m definitely in for a treat.

How do you love a broken man? That's the challenge presented to Wynter in Love Belvin's new story The Rhythm of Blues. Before I get into the review, I just want to say that Love gave me all kinds of life. This story was well thought out and the author does a great job of discussing a subject that is often taboo in the Black community. The character of Wynter is one of the strongest female characters that Love has developed. She's not here for the BS, when she marries it has to be the type of love she saw between her grandparents. She goes into her relationship with Ragee with her eyes open and a icy heart due to a past relationship. When Wynter's relationship with Ragee begins to change some of that ice melts away. I really enjoyed the complexities of her character while she was strong she also had a vulnerability. This first part gave a clear understanding of Wynter's character. Hopefully the second part will focus on the character of Ragee. Ragee is a character that has popped up in some of the previous books as a successful R&B singer. We learn about Ragee through flashbacks and how Wynter views him. I can't wait until the author breaks down Ragee through his interactions with one of my favorite characters Ezra. It's still a mystery surrounding Ragee, his previous relationship with his high school sweetheart and his relationship with God. Ragee the alpha is touched on but not fully explored. I also loved that the author gave us a check in with previous characters. Now I have questions like -Why Kennedi and Lord having baby issues? What happened to Rayna and Azmir's third child? Overall, Love continues to put out high quality stories filled with words that will touch your spirit. I'm looking forward to the next story in this series.

She produces, endures the travail, and the reader enjoys and behold that beauty and mastery of her work. It is not normal and it transcends stellar writing, creativity, and storytelling--it rivals, genius because her stories are birthed in her heart and soul. This book like her others is gripping. The subterfuge deployed to recover Ragee's missed career opportunities and aid Wynter in her plight to aid her most beloved family member lead to a myriad of feelings, emotions, and ultimately life changing experiences that has the reader falling for the couple as they are falling for each other. The romance isn't the main thing, it is a satisfying byproduct of the author's surgical precision as she begins her triage on Wynter and Ragee. There is so much against them separately and jointly that it's amazing that they both were able to take ahold of the life vest that provided each other. There were so many dark and grim things and characters working against them but there was comfort in Ragee's grandmother establishing and trying to fortify the spiritual foundation of their relationship. This book covered so many things and so effectively that it's difficult to pinpoint what things resonated more. I enjoyed the entire book and absolutely cannot wait to delve even deeper into part 2! Rhythmically Good! Ragee is no stranger to the stage as his musical and acting talents have skyrocketed him to stardom. It's taking me some time to pen my thoughts on Belvin's latest release. I think it's because I'm just not over the way it ended; left my heart on the last page and never got it back. There is been a lot of talk about this book ending on a cliffhanger but hell, this author never leaves you hanging at the end of series so I'll wait to pick up my heart...and these hands. Because I definitely want to throw some hands the way I was left affected by the end of this book! As this is a start of a new series and virtually new characters, Belvin takes us on a journey of discovery as she delves deep into character development. "Why is Ragee the way he is?" "Why does Wynter know the Rhythm of Blues?" "How can these two individuals mesh well?" These are all answered through the extensive character development in this first book. If any reader is new to Belvin's books, then you need to be prepared to get into the head and hearts of her characters and learn why even if their unfavourable in your eyes, they are still worthy of redemption. The twist in Ragee and Wynter's relationship dynamics threw me for a loop: I was totally shocked (you will have to read to experience what I'm talking about). If you think you're getting some fan meets star theme, then think again! Belvin keeps the drama high and the emotions low (sigh) as she pens this intricate relationship between Ragee and Wynter. The chemistry and passion between these two was mind-blowing and blood-pumpingly good (Idc if that's a word)! There is so much more to these two than meets the eye and so many secrets are revealed that it makes you wonder what other skeletons could be left!? Lort, I don't know if I can handle it all in book 2 because the way this ended, Ima need Jesus to help me from swinging on thangs! But if one thing I can count is for my spirit to be at easy with these biblical references. I can always get a 'lil saved' in a Love Belvin book. Like who does that: raise your pressure and have you cussing with the madness of their characters, make you have to repent from imagining the hero in real life (Big Zaddddy) and then get ya church on with the Word? Love Belvin has no parameters when it comes to penning and I'm here for it all!

Without giving too much away (because that’s half the fun with this story), Wynter and Ragee end up together under complicated circumstances. Wynter isn’t a fan of Ragee, the man nor the music. Ragee has no desire to know or remember anything about Wynter. As with all of Belvin’s novels, that doesn’t last long for too long. These two find themselves drawn to each other in an authentic and spellbinding way. Liking each other and sleeping together isn’t even half of the battle with Ragee and Wynter. Though these two were initially a slow burn, they become drawn to each other like a moth to a flame. They’re both good for each other, Wynter gets Ragee to open up in ways he’s never thought he would want to. Ragee helps Wynter regain parts of her former self. While these two make a bit of progress with one another early in the book, when two damaged souls like these get together without properly working on themselves; there will be outside factors that try to dull their flame. Meddling family members, shady ass managers, and Ragee’s inability to allow himself to just be provided an ending that made me want to throw my damn shoe. While I’m not entirely surprised, I still felt conflicted. Thank God part two will be available in the next few months because I AM PRESSED.

Sometimes the journey to love is complicated and is not ideal. I learned that by reading novels by Love Belvin. Trust and believe she is going to build a story, characters and the scenes. I have confidence each and every time I pick up one of Love's books that I am going to be ministered to and in my feelings after I put the book down. I will say, I will say I was surprise how Raj and Wynter came to be, because of the dynamics that brought them together and or person. I will say, I will say I was surprise how Raj and Wynter came to be, because of the dynamics that brought them together and or person. However if I know nothing else about this author's books the obvious is really a smoke screen for something else. What seems to be easy and/or a typical romance is not always that with Love (just like with the Wayward Love series). ***Disclaimer** This novel deals with subject matters that may be hard to swallow however it is a topic that the African American community seems to shy away from. This topic hits a little too close to home but I was able to get through it. Ok let me just get this off my chest right now. When the book started I despised Raj. He was a bleeping, bleeping (yall can fill in the blanks). Then I became team Raj in the middle but tat the very end... OMG, he was back to being a bleeping, bleeping jerk. Raj has been through some things in his life that has shaped him and I completely understand but this dude made me so mad. With that being said I love Wynter. The secondary characters are a hot mess. This book ends in a cliffhanger, surprise it's a series. I can not wait until the second and last book of this series to drop. Love Belvin delivers again. From chemistry, the development of characters and writing. Love is a gifted storyteller and adds biblical references to her stories, which I really enjoy. What can I say she's a beast with the pen. Bravo Ms. Belvin Bravo.

Truly amazing! With the release of each of Love’s books, I say to myself, “This one can’t possibly be as good as the last.” Or, “No one is going to top Ezra, Young, etc.” I am proven wrong each and every time. The way this author tells a story is truly amazing. This book was so good, I found myself slowing down on the reading to try to make it last. I was just that caught up. When Ragee was first introduced in the Wayward Love series, I wasn’t sure I was ready to read a story about him. I was so Truly amazing! When Ragee was first introduced in the Wayward Love series, I wasn’t sure I was ready to read a story about him. I was so invested in Isaak and his intellectual thugishness, I felt Ragee might be somewhat of a letdown. Again, I was proven wrong. I am all in for this complex character. Although he is a successful R&B star and actor, he is haunted by demons from his past, which has made him somewhat of a recluse. He does not want a woman in his life as a love interest. He does not trust women and for good reason. Enter Wynter. She reminds me of a mix of Kennedi & Lex. Brash and potty mouth and highly intelligent. She also has some haunting secrets from the past of her own that I feel we have yet to fully discover. She’s not really against falling in love but she’s not looking for it either. Wynter is in straight up survival mode when she and Ragee are forced into a situation that will benefit them both but neither of them wants to be in. I love this story. That is really the long and short of it. It is an excellent read. Every word. It was so engaging, it took me two days to recover before I could write this review. I’ve literally been replaying every scene in my head. I need that next installment in my life pronto!

This was a reread for me. I had sworn off audibles. I tried a few in the past and could not focus, remember and had to continually replay. Listening to this book made me realize that it was NOT audiobooks that I didn't like, it was the narrator. I had no problem following and staying in the moment with this book. The language was clear to understand, etc. I loved the way they made Pastor McKennon sound. She sounded like a seasoned mother in Zion. The language was clear to understand, etc. I loved the way they made Pastor McKennon sound. She sounded like a seasoned mother in Zion. I could feel all the feels with Rajee and Winter even though their story was very dark. For me, the only downsides were: the long delays in the reading, I didn't know if it had stopped, or it was at the end of the chapter, so I had to keep checking. Then the splicing was a bit noticeable. At one point, I was sitting on the edge of my seat waiting to hear what was going to go down and missed the build up because of the splice. When it came back in, the tense had shifted. And lastly, this is just what I visualized in my head, Rajee and Winter were both singers, I expected the narrators to be able to blow. I was underwhelmed by their singing voices. Belvin is my true favorite author. I have never read an author that makes me go dig deep and think about stories on a larger scale and peel back multiple layers. I own all of her books in Kindle and paperback. I have many authors that I've read almost their whole body of works but she is the only one that I own everything. Now it looks like I'll be investing in audiobooks as well. This is her first of many so I know that the only way we are going is up.
