A really really good issue with great art, but it lacked the impact I could tell it was going for for me. Maybe if I was more familiar with Kate’s history it would’ve worked, but still I enjoyed this a lot.

The pacing of this series could enjoy a little push on the accelerator but it's still SO GOOD you guys

Love how strong Kate is in this. Love her owning who she is, embracing the bat. Batman has had to do it in some of his toughest battles. The bat defines him. Kate is taking up the mantel.

Ok, this one was good. God, my heart breaks for Kate. (Although there was some irony of her calling out Prime's use of "daddy" when she had the issue before.)

The whole series has been great so far, but this is the best issue of the run yet. Full stop. There's a weightiness to things in this issue that hasn't really been in this book yet, and that's a big plus. Entertaining banter between Kate and Prime, a good bit of character development for both of them, more info on Scarecrow's involvement with the Many Arms of Death, and a pretty awesome shutdown of Scarecrow at the very end that any fan of Kate Kane should reflexively fist-pump to read. And great art, as ever. I have no idea at all why a lot of people seem to be so down on this book. It's awesome.
