I received a free copy of this book from the author. I had the opportunity to review or not. A heartbroken Jenna sells her home and moves back to her hometown after her husband is killed in an automobile accident. Her beloved husband had been acting strangely the past few months and she is looking forward to some peace with her mother on Solomon’s Island. Jenna begins to feel safe and comfortable again, but wonders what her future will hold. Just as Jenna finally feels safe and happy her dead husb I received a free copy of this book from the author. I had the opportunity to review or not. A heartbroken Jenna sells her home and moves back to her hometown after her husband is killed in an automobile accident. Her beloved husband had been acting strangely the past few months and she is looking forward to some peace with her mother on Solomon’s Island. Jenna begins to feel safe and comfortable again, but wonders what her future will hold. Just as Jenna finally feels safe and happy her dead husband shows up requiring her to help him by doing him two little favors. He promises to disappear from her life after she fulfills his requests. But will he keep his promise? Ms. Coleman’s writing is clear and concise. Her characters are likeable or despicable, depending on who we are talking about. Her dialogue, however, falls a little short with respect to her audience. Some of the dialogue seemed condescending. I have not found that to be the case with other writings of hers. But the story, the characters and descriptive writing are all well done. I will be reading more of her books.

I sympathized with her situation. Her husband abused her before he died. Now she's free. I was glad that she got a second chance. I cheered when she met the man of her dreams. Elliot is the opposite of her deceased husband. He's a strong, loving man. Now her life is perfect. Then the unthinkable happens. Her husband is back and Jenna's husband died in an auto accident. Afterwards she wants to rebuild her life so she moves to Solomon's Island, Maryland. Can she find the happiness that eludes her? I sympathized with her situation. Her husband abused her before he died. Now she's free. I was glad that she got a second chance. I cheered when she met the man of her dreams. Elliot is the opposite of her deceased husband. He's a strong, loving man. Now her life is perfect. Then the unthinkable happens. Her husband is back and he wants her to do things to keep his return a secret. What happens next is a shock. It kept me on the edge of my seat. Eileen Cruz Coleman wrote a suspenseful story with surprising twists. I received a copy of the book which I voluntarily read and reviewed. My comments are my honest opinion.

Lies on the Riverwalk by Eileen Cruz Coleman is a complex and emotional story. Packed with drama, suspense, angst and romance and a few twists along the way. All in all an enjoyable read.
