I had the opportunity to read a preview copy of this book. This book was so enlightening and fantastic. I am about 2 1/2 years out of college and this was a great way for me to understand how to grow as a leader. What stuck with me the most was the nutrition section. I have constantly struggled with my weight and navigating a healthy life. Tarra's book helped me figure out the right steps I needed to put healthy first. I also really loved the section on work meetings. I started implementing Tarr I had the opportunity to read a preview copy of this book. This book was so enlightening and fantastic. I re-read sections all the time for tips, tricks, and ideas. I recommend this book to anyone who is looking to grow professionally.

I am passionate about both Yoga and Leadership but could not connect with this content. I was so disappointed. There are many threads running concurrently and while there are many important thoughts and concepts I found this style distracting and hard to follow. I eventually gave up, I just could not make it to the end of this book.

If you are looking for a book about how to be a leader in a company, this isn’t it. However, if you are looking for a book to help you be a much better leader, The Yoga of Leadership is exactly what you want. The Yoga of Leadership does not teach you yoga movements. Instead, it tells readers about how to use relaxation, like yoga, to be more in control of your stress and emotions and lead better. You can attempt to lead from the rear. This usually does not work. The Yoga of Leadership tells us how we can be better leaders from the front. I promise you that this book is not going to tell you to have a group hug and sing Kum By Ya, like so many of the management du jour books suggest. You are not going to learn about conducting an offsite meeting or participating on high ropes. The Yoga of Leadership gives the reader a way to become a better leader by becoming a better person overall. You will learn about becoming a better listener and a better hearer. We give this book all five stars. It is well written and researched in the trenches. Readers will learn more about life recipe and how to be an effective leader, without sacrificing family or health. We wish some of our past leaders had read this book and put it into practice when we were working for them years ago. We were sent a complimentary copy of this book. I requested this book because it was an intersection of two things that I am very interested in lately. However, this wasn't really a book on leadership in the workplace which I was disappointed about. It took a long time for the author to find her rhythm and it ended up being more of a book on yoga themes than about leadership. It was okay but not anything I haven't read before.
