As luck would have it, one of the Commanders of a SEAL Team, Grady Judd, who was now off the active duty roster, had partnered up with an ex-CIA spy and opened a rehab center in Texas. Now JJ has more than PTSD to worry about. He also has to keep his desires in check and his hands off the doctor.

Received an ARC at no cost to author..My friends I have to warn you, that this is difficult and has some triggers that may not be easy for some. rape, witnessing a murder and torture With that said, it was good about surviving and giving love a chance.. If you can read knowing the triggers then I recommend, but remember you have been warned...

First, I want to thank Ciana Stone for providing me with this book so that I may bring you this review. Jasper Jacks is book three in the Heartbreakers and Hero’s series. Each book gets better and better as the series goes on! I highly suggest you read book 1 and 2 prior to reading book 3 as you will get a better feel for the recurring characters and storylines from past. This book would be a great fit for anyone whom has a huge heart for rescued animals, military personnel whom need to get rehabilitated, forbidden love between a doctor and a patient, readers whom like mystery and suspense with twists and turns, etc. The storyline of Jasper and Etta was one of the storylines I liked the best. Two amazing strong characters both holding painful pasts that brought them to where they are today! Deacon’s role in Etta’s life was a unique one. He was and amazing friend to her for many years and stuck by her through thick and thin. I admired their friendship. Ciana did teach me something in this book though. I learned all about Armadillo’s from reading this book! A quote that hit a nerve with me was “Because you were damaged and looking for something or someone to make the pain stop. Not me, just someone.” At the end of the book Ciana writes to her readers being very appreciative of anyone no matter what profession to go out and purchase her book. She is very appreciative of her readers.

I gave this book 3 stars for character development, and an interesting, suspenseful plot, but Etta, the psychiatrist, and female lead character, would have lost her license for flagrant ethics violations in the real world. I’m a psychotherapist, and daughter of a psychiatrist, and Etta’s boundaries and ethics are beyond inappropriate-definite malpractice, and really criminal for taking advantage of a patient via poor emotional and sexual boundaries. I’m chalking up these deplorable ethics and boundary violations to creative license, because Etta also had an odd role as a psychiatrist. Contrary, to popular belief most psychiatrists are not psychotherapists, but primarily manage psychopharmacology. If Etta had been trained to do therapy, she would have learned the importance and necessity to avoid romantic entanglements with her patients. The minute she had romantic feelings she should have transferred her patient, the lead male character, JJ. Also, empathy and co-dependence are 2 different things, but the author seems to have these 2 things confused, as depicted by Etta’s over-identification with JJ and other characters in the book. All these issues were somewhat cringe worthy for this reader, and I suggest the author should have made a note about that, so folks don’t think this is typical practice. So, 3 stars for creativity, suspense, and character development, but just a fair fictional romance, that really doesn’t work for mental health professionals.

This is the first book in Ciana Stone's Heartbreakers and Heroes series that I have read. There is just so much I want to say about Jasper and Etta's story. Cons...a story this intense should have the reader feeling every emotion that the characters are experiencing, but that is not the case...I was left wanting, something, anything to draw me into the story. It is a flat read. Which is so disappointing. I love the story & characters. I want to read the other books because I would like more of the stories, but without the emotional attachment it might be difficult getting through it. So, for me I am giving it 4 stars because the story is well told and the cover is hot, but it should be only 3 stars for not drawing the reader into the story. Happy Reading:) I voluntarily received an ARC and this is my honest review.

Jasper Jacks is a down to earth novel about two characters that have been through hell, but are strong enough to ask for help and look inside themselves to find a better version of their selves. There is love, but a love that is slowly built up and cautiously found between two people who are unsure they can give a part of themselves away. I think this is why I really enjoyed the book. This was a very intriguing, suspenseful, emotionally filled book. Not to mention a bit of danger and definitely some awsome friendships. I highly recommend this great book its a must read that will make you want more.

As I mentioned earlier here, there are triggers; but the topic is handled well and I do recommend the book.

I am continually amazed by Ciana Stone. She has the talent to take words and make you part of a story, make you really feel what is happening with the characters. I liked Etta and JJ. This is gripping, suspenseful, heartbreaking and romantic. Jasper is frustrated, angry, impatient and cheeky. Etta is patient, caring, conflicted and honorable. The relationship between JJ and Etta is fraught with conflicting emotions and confusion. The relationship between Etta and Deacon is sweet and gives them both stability in their lives. The storyline has a twist or two that are interesting and entertaining. The characters and center add a new depth and charm to an already amazing town. Sanctuary. This was definitely the place both Jasper and Etta needed to be and to find. I'm not sure which character's past broke my heart more. How Ms. Stone was able to bring these two characters together to heal was wonderful. ARC - I voluntarily offered to review this book with no obligations and my opinions are honest! This was such an emotional book Both Etta + Jasper had ghosts in their past. However, they did not let these ghosts destroy them. Jasper has come to the ranch for some rehabilitation for his PTSD. Etta is the therapist assigned to Jasper. They were not looking for love, but love found them. A lot of pain, but such a sweet story. Loved the storytelling + the characters!

I love SEAL romantic suspense novels, and as such have quite high expectations for the books I read in that sub-genre. What I really love about this book (and the series) is how clever the author Ciana Stone was in her creation of multi-faceted characters. The demons the characters deal with feel so real that the characters' emotions pour out of the pages. I was truly moved by this excellent book and highly recommend it! Healing the Healer If you're into hot military hunks and the women who love them, this one is a must. The story of JJ and Etta, a broken Seal and a doctor with a strong need to heal, is full of intrigue, struggling, and romance. The road to forever is fraught with JJ determined to overcome severe PTSD brought on while being held captive and Etta struggling with demons from her own past. Love this series. Jasper Jack's...... He's a Navy SEAL, sexy as can be and just as broken. Etta Whitestone, is the new Doctor at Sanctuary, and she is more than just unconventional. She has a striking appearance, an out of the box way of working and her own broken past, that she keeps locked away. The attraction is there and so very undeniable and burns the pages. The tension, the danger and the secrets uncovered are so well thought out I just couldn't put this book down. Can't wait for Deacon..... Jasper Jack's...... AMAZING STORY! This was a great story. A little heartbreaking and hard to read at times but Etta and Jasper Aka JJ were made for each other. He’s damaged from a horrific experience in the war. Shes the psychiatrist/ therapist assigned to heal him. Except shes broken too. So they heal each other and fall in love. Their back stories are difficult, but both are strong. Their love was stronger than their pain. Can’t wait to read the next story!!

Read this book for an honest review. This was a really heart felt book about what military personnel can suffer internally from war. My heart went out to Jasper and all he's going thru. Etta is the Doctor who is at the sanctuary to help the soldiers find their way back. She's had problems of her own. This is a really great read. Read this book for an honest review. Trigger warning: rape, witnessing a murder and torture Just wow. Having read this book in one sitting and feeling this story so complete which doesn't happen very often in my opinion. Yes, this book is supposed to be about Jasper but more about Ella which helps balance their storylines. The depths of their individual issues are what helps each heal. It is a very moving book detailing coming back from despair, betrayal and loss. Trigger warning: rape, witnessing a murder and torture Just wow.
