This is kindle freebie is a sampler or teaser for the books in the series. It is an excellent series. The biographies are accurate and kid friendly. It should be noted that the actual books tend to be more diverse than this sampler - which has a total of nine people, only two of which are female and only two poc. The illustrations are lovely.

Kind of a teaser for their other books, this book has mini-biographies of people like Peyton Manning, Gabby Douglas, J.F.K., and Charles Shultz.... Quick stories about the problems faced by the famous when they were children that helped them get to where they are today. Relevant problems for kids to relate to and gain inspiration from. I would like to read the other books now that I've read this teaser! BTW...Peyton Manning - a tango dancer - YouTube it! This was a cool look into the 4 books this author wrote about artists, authors, presidents and athletes. Some interesting background about each person they highlighted, and some encouragement for kids to keep trying despite any bullying or opposition.

Kid Legends: A simple, short and inspirational book containing impactful account of some famous persons in their childhood was the best thing I explored today. I was damn depressed and this book was really helpful in removing the gloomy blanket of mood swing off me. . It is really interesting to know the character of Harmione Granger is based on J K Rowling's self. She had to fend off bully, defy the low expectations of teachers and tried hard in school but throughout the time she was a storyteller. She penned her first story at the age of seven! . The creator of Snoopy, the superstar cartoonist Charlie Schulz was a shy kid who hated to show off his sketches! . Pablo Picasso always hated rules and took every opportunity to disobey them. He even started painting sky bright red just to entice the art teacher in school! . It was interesting to know how Muhammad Ali took a detour to a boxing school, which gifted us the greatest boxer of all time. . The creator of the best-selling Diary of a Wimpy Kid series was constantly pranked upon by his siblings; and he has used almost all of them in his books later.

I really enjoyed this sampler and I want to look into getting the other books in the series. I love that we get to get a look at these people's childhoods, which was where a lot of them truly got their start. Plus, there are illustrations! I would recommend this to pretty much any age that can read it. It is probably best for about 3rd-5th grade. I plan on adopting it into my classroom library and possibly my curriculum in the future. #books #bookstagram #ARC #reviewer

Mini-biographies of famous people. Its simple and easy to understand especially for kids— telling them that these famous people are also kids before and they experienced the things you have experienced... the illustrations are cool as well!

Honestly, I was rather disappointed by this book. I didn't find it very inspiring, the stories were rather trite. It is aimed at a younger audience but I've read much better biographical information with my kids that they've enjoyed more. Honestly, I was rather disappointed by this book.
