Once again, the team of Diane Capri and Nigel Blackwell have written a fast moving and captivating novel full of twists and turns and surprises the reader never expects. With great detail and an engaging storyline, the reader is take from Colorado to Iowa to Spain and eventually to Africa. All as a part of her journey to prove one man innocent of a crime that mounting pieces of evidence prove he committed, but so many, including Jess, believe he did not. Throughout her travels she meets trouble and finds assistance in almost equal measure. And in true Jess Kimball fashion, she finds a way to survive and take care of herself, with a little initial assistance from her assistant Mandy and her boyfriend Henry, who works with the FBI. But once she follows some leads in Spain and Africa it is up to Jess to find people she can trust to help her...and in the end, also help them. As Jess returns safely back home, she comes to some realizations in regard to herself, Henry, her job and her main priority in life...finding her son. Next up for this writing duo: a short story: “Fatal Past” and a novel: “Fatal Dawn.” Rating: 4.7 ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ ** I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this novel. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

This is a powerful story from beginning to end!!! Jess Kimble is a reporter who believes all her stories and the people involved are important. She finds/follows leads others miss/ignore. The stories she takes on she solves. She knows first hand what loss feels like. The ongoing effects on one's life. Her young son was taken several years ago and she is actively still looking for him. Diane Capri and Nigel Blackwell write a masterful weave of Action and Suspense. Unpredictable twists and turns. This is a powerful story from beginning to end!!! I might just be a Jess Kimball junkie! She is just one crazy, wild reporter and how she manages to stay alive is beyond me. For some reason, this book made me think she was a little more personable than she seemed in earlier books but that might just be because I’ve read so much about her that I’m beginning to feel like she’s family. The last quarter of the book flew by! Lots of action and thoughts that she’d just not make it out of that mess. I really liked the characters of Hadlow and Elden. I’m a big fan of this series as Jess Kimball is one of my favorite characters. For those not familiar with the series, Jess’s son was kidnapped at a young age and she is still hopeful and hunting for him. She’s an investigative reporter and has been very involved with families of other missing children. She is contacted by the mother of one of these children who is frantic for her friend who is worried for her son, who has been arrested in connection with an explosion at a chemical facility. This was an enjoyable light action thriller, featuring a female journalist who is helping solve other people's problems. Although I liked the protagonist and I eagerly followed her antics as she traveled the world and escaped from certain death time and again, I've got to say this plot line is preposterous. I can't imagine any legitimate law enforcement officer allowing an amateur to join a dangerous mission so easily. Excellent Another great story in the, never a dull moment, life of Jess Kimball. I love how these books have quite involved storylines with interweaving plots. Quite often authors underestimate their readers and worry about making the story too complicated with too many characters. Not Diane Capri. Her readers are treated to the whole experience. Another outstanding novel by Capri and Blackwell. The Jess Kimball series - like all other Diane Capri books - just seems to get better and better. Each book reaches a peak of excellence just to be topped by the following one. Fatal Bond has loads of action, always seems authentic, takes you right to the location, and the plot twists and turns right to the last page. Such an enjoyable easy read.

Good clean writing, interesting plot, and well paced gives this book four stars. A fifth star comes from Jess's ability to figure things out from the facts presented. Three hundred pages makes this a neat package for an extended weekend trip or several nights at home with TV off. Will try more of Capri's books and compare. Deadly Mosquitoes Jess is becoming more of a spy than the magazine journalist she's supposed e be. This again was a nail-biting adventure filled with dangerous situations. It was fast-moving and the many characters were interesting. Deadly Mosquitoes Jess is becoming more of a spy than the magazine journalist she's supposed e be. Not as good as her others This story plot was hard to follow in places. Jessica got out of many impossible dangers in hard to imagine scenarios. Action dragged in places.
