Michael Timmins has a knack for storytelling. The Awakening Part Two finds us being introduced to some new characters and brings Sylvanis and Kestrel onto the stage a little more. I absolutely love Michael's world building and character creation. He paints a vivid image in your mind as you read. I also enjoy the story line and get drawn into what is happening with the characters in the book. Now I ended up giving the book 3 stars because being the second book of the series I was hoping to have some more development of the story and instead I was finding myself being introduced to more characters which had me forgetting the characters from the first book. Having chatted with the author in the past I understand this is all part of the building of the story, but I feel some parts were a little more drawn out then they needed to be for my liking. I don't mind series if they are progressing along and have me wanting to go back, but it just seems with the second book it followed a little bit like the first book, but just with a new cast which made it a slightly long read to get through for me. I do trust and understand where the author is coming from and I look forward to seeing where the next book will lead me in the Lycan War Saga!

I was given a copy by the author in exchange for an honest review. I so enjoyed this book, it was the perfect story to follow the first book. I was pulled in from the beginning and had a hard time putting it down. With all the twists that were thrown in it had me turning the pages so I caould find out what was going to happen next. It is very well written and flows so easily you won't know you hit the end until it's too late. This author definitely has a way with story telling and I look forward I was given a copy by the author in exchange for an honest review. This is the second book in the series and really represents a Part 2 as it continues the character introduction to the 8 different were creatures that have been awakened. I really enjoy the author's character points of view and he has a talent for good guys and bad guys equally. Which one is Shae though!? She has me confused! Overall I am very excited for this series and when I finished I couldn't wait to read the next and am happy to see it's not too far away from being available. I would also recommend people check out another series by this author called Prelude to the Shards, another enjoyable read that promises more great things to come!

Part two. Sequel to the first book. I enjoyed it more than the previous book. I still like the storyline. Some editing could have been more thorough. I found some phrasing difficult and choppy to read. Also some contradictions were frustrating.I normally do not read this genre, but overall I enjoyed this book and the continuation. I look forward to reading the third book.

Continuation of the Awakening Part one. We get introduced to more characters on both sides of the conflict. Like the pacing and there are some surprises in this book. Look forward to reading the next installment.

The start of the book finds us right where we left off, deep in the melee of Lycans and scheming Druidesses! The best part of the storyline is that it derives around our modern era and the world just isn’t quite ready for Lycans running amuck! Well maybe not! The best part is actually the totally reimagined way the author chose to portray Lycans and how their afflictions determine their personality! Like how boar-ish (pun intended!) The best part is actually the totally reimagined way the author chose to portray Lycans and how their afflictions determine their personality! Like how boar-ish (pun intended!) Blain, the were boar, can be and how his persona just seemed to want to root around in places that he does not belong! Or how sly and sneaky that Shae the were rat is (did I forget to mention that I really dig this were and love how underrated she is deemed to the “bigger stronger” weres! Look out Blain!) Bravo! Whats not to love? An almost never-ending introduction to highly thought out and supremely executed characters who develop into complex individuals with singular goals. An exceedingly new take on creatures that launches them way outside the box. Non-stop action and my favorite thing in fantasy books – DEATH AND DESTRUCTION galore! It is so easy to step into this world and imagine yourself right alongside the action and you yourself becoming the were that you were destined to be! (as for me, I am new breed of lycanthrope- a were raven. Cunning, insightful, loyal, dark and brooding, and mostly a loner… Nevermore? ;) We are met with a cliff hanger at the end! What is going to happen to Shae and Sarah? Can Ben manage to open his mind enough to help the were tiger and wolf to save them from Blain and certain one-sided sexual advances before “she” shows up?!!?? I need the next installment like now!!!!!! It is no secret that I am a huge fan of the style of writing and the immersive world that the author has created! I will reread and recommend this book series in any conversation that involves weres and hopefully help smite the romanticized puppy-eyed beasties of Twilight from the hearts and minds of fantasy lovers forever! Weres are meant to be glorious and powerful in every way! Not drooling over teenage drama queens and turning their backs on their fellow weres for the sake of puppy love!! What are you waiting for??!!??? GO BUY THESE BOOKS AND PREORDER BOOK 3 RIGHT NOW! I really did enjoy the second part of this book even, though it took me a little while to finish it and write this review. This was not because of the author, the writing, the story or anything to do with the book whatsoever. I just found myself in a spot in life where I had 1 million things to do and not enough time to do them in and everything came crashing in around me! *** I was provided a copy of this book in lieu of an honest review from the author. Thank you very much Mike! ***
