This book was assigned to me to read in college. It was 28 chapters long, but my readings did not cover all the chapters; some of the chapters' units were not required. Therefore, I cannot pretend that I read the entire 1400 pages. rather I only read about 1200 pages or so. Anyway, this book was amazing. it explained all the fine details of the human body structurally and functionally, in a simple and comprehensible way. The organization of the book, along with the explanations, definitions, review questions, notes, and summaries helped to simplify the information and supported my understanding of all the concepts. Everything in this book allowed for better understanding, and it was all facilitated and clearly described, with graphs and images to make it even easier. I loved this book and ,after I finished the term, I decided to keep it on my flash drive, so that I could come back to it whenever I needed a revision. The effort put to execute this book was so clear, and the organization was of a very high level. This was the first time for me to really enjoy reading a school book, because this was an encyclopedia, not just a normal textbook.

I haven't read every single page in this book, but I did read most of the chapters for my college assignments. The book's uniqueness lies in the fact that it contained links for external videos, websites for additional understanding, innovations in art, terminology, career orientation, practical applications, and multimedia-based learning. Therefore, the book is not only about the anatomy of the human body and the physiological function of every organ, but it also discussed many diseases, disorders, and their causes, and many other related things. Nonetheless, this book contained clear illustrations and images as well as quizzes at the end of each chapter. Indeed, it is a comprehensive book. However, while studying, sometimes I felt the need for more illustrations, so I added more pictures inside my PDF copy, and sometimes I sought simpler explanations from outside sources. But overall, it is a great book in its field, and eventually, it is free!

I did not read all 1400 pages rather just the ones needed for my studies. Information is laid out nicely, lots of references for further understanding. Awesome for an open source textbook!
