4/1/18 Excalibur: The Legend of King Arthur, A Graphic Novel by Tony Lee and Sam Hart offered a quick but thorough telling of the Arthur legend complete with many details. I've read so many versions at this point that the accuracy of the details should be authenticated by someone else. I've read so many versions at this point that the accuracy of the details should be authenticated by someone else. Arthur's visit to the fairy realm and love for the Lady of the Lake were different from what I remember. However, Guinevere's betrayal with Lancelot, Morgana's origin as Arthur's step-sister and the Round Table were all very familiar. The combination of narrative and visuals was very effective, but familiarity with the story would be helpful in recognizing names like Nimway and Cae (often spelled Kay). I very much enjoyed this quick read.

Great story ideas. Morgan, a changeling? Love that. Also tied a bunch of other stories together and some great allusions to others, lots of cute jokes and puns. Artwork was kinda blah.

A pretty far cry from accurate to the original story. Soaked in stupid frivolity in an attempt to make the story more "modern". Long story short... ew.
