I’m only on page 22 but everything I’ve felt my entire life, has been described so perfectly so far. It makes me realize I am not alone and I am not weird. I am a product of my environment. And the reason I am the way I am, is because of the coping mechanisms I’ve developed. *update. I finished the book, I enjoyed it entirely. And while I don’t plan on doing the 12 steps of recovery, similar to AA, I do think it helped me understand myself, and I would read it again.

This was a very interesting read for me. I did not grow up in as a direct ACoA, it runs throughout my family and it was eye opening to see how many themes carry over and are carried down into other generations. It made me understand a little more. I am not sure I would write letters and send them as suggested, but I do like the idea of getting some feelings out and finally letting them go.
