I thought finding my mate would make me happy. When I was young, I fantasized about finding my true fated mate. Everyone told me it would be Sam, one of my childhood friends. Our fathers were good friends and they always got excited at the thought of us together. So when we turned 18 and Sam said I was his mate, I believed it, and we started our lives together. But now I thought finding my mate would make me happy. When I was young, I fantasized about finding my true fated mate. Everyone told me it would be Sam, one of my childhood friends. Our fathers were good friends and they always got excited at the thought of us together. So when we turned 18 and Sam said I was his mate, I believed it, and we started our lives together. But now I want nothing more than to escape our life. It is boring, routine, and lacking in passion. This is not what I thought love would be like. And I've found myself increasingly escaping into books about the human world. I am fascinated with the way they're able to choose their mates and make their own choices in life that are not chosen by fate. I want to not be controlled by fate myself. Though, maybe it's fate that brings me to the human world in the first place. And it's in the human world that I meet Lyle. I've lost my job so I've lost everything. My entire adult life, I've been a workaholic. It's all I've ever known. I don't have friends or family I'm close to, I haven't formed serious romantic relationships, I have only had my job. And now that's gone and I'm not sure what is going to fulfill me anymore. But then I meet Cecil and I'm drawn to him. It feels like this crazy, magnetic connection that is pulling me toward him. Never before has a man caught my attention like this. I've never felt like this before. I didn't used to believe in soulmates, but now? Now it feels like maybe things are falling into place. But there is so much about him I don't know. This is a standalone mpreg story as part of the Destined Mates series, comes complete with HEA ending!

Simplistic gay male shifter/human mating romance filled with deception and angst. Several sentence fragments ("Hey!" Condemned Mates by James Wolfe is the second book in the Destine Mates series. This is a standalone story so it is okay to come in at book two. There are some great things about this book and some not so great things about this book. I loved the connection and flow of this book. Really made me love all the characters and want more of them. I did not like how Sam was treated. I felt that Cecil was a shallow person for the way he treated Sam. This tainted my view of Cecil all throughout the story. Cecil to me came off as whiny and just annoying. He got better as the story goes along but he just needed to be honest about what he wanted out of a mate and say no when Sam asked him the first time. Lyle is a human and a good character. Very well done and likeable. I did feel the pull he had with Cecil. Over all it is well written story with some great ideas in it. Even if the characters did not always come out in the best light. I highly recommend reading it. MM and shifters are always my favorite and this one does not disappoint in that area. You could see him trying, but instincts drove Cecil to Lyle now they had met. Now Lyle was falling hard, and Cecil still had a bigger secret to tell. And Oh. My. Gawd!! The secrets to be told. Even with my inkling, I was left with my mouth wide open. Is there more? I would read just to see if the plot moves differently. I have no problems with instlove, especially when it comes to fated mates. I voluntarily and honestly reviewed this book without bias or persuasion from the author.

This is the second book in Destined Mates Series. The plot was entertaining and it was steady throughout the book. The characters were well developed and thought out. Lyle is a human and Cecil is a werewolf and they are the MC’s of this book and true mates. There was humor, emotions, shifters, parents, Mpreg, a farmer’s market and so much more in this book. I did have a few problems with the book the biggest being a cheating issue. Some might debate that it was cheating but to me it was and I di This is the second book in Destined Mates Series. This is an unusual take on the werewolf mating theory. We find Sam and Cecil, a mated couple, living not entirely happily. Sam had always told Cecil that he was his mate and Cecil had agreed because he had always been led to believe it is true. However when Cecil has the chance to go out into the human world, he is shocked to come face to face with his true mate. James untangles the knotty problem in his own unique way until eventually we have a happy ever after. This story does actually deserve t This is an unusual take on the werewolf mating theory. And an interesting take on true mates trope. Set in a world where shifters don't interact with humans. Cecil has heard the stories about true mates all his life. This was a good story for a serial shifter series. Poor Cecil is in a tough spot, stuck in an unhappy relationship, wishing he could escape. So he gets a new job, which makes his mate unhappy. Then Cecil goes to a human market to work and meets his real mate. What a mess! I did sympathize with Cecil, it wasn't his fault that his old friend Sam had lied to him about being mates, so when he met his real mate he felt like he was cheating. Overall its a sweet book, but it irks me that for both books, both the werewolves kept saying 'the human has to come live with us, we cant fathom living in their world'. Very close minded if you ask me! But a great little read, and I look forward to the next!

I was really curious to read this book. Mates are forever, right? What happens when you don't have "that" feeling for your mate? Cecil is mated to his best friend Sam, but could the fates be wrong? After an accidental meeting, Cecil develops feeling for human Lyle... but Cecil is already mated!! This book did have a few editing problems which I was able to overlook. This was a quick, low angst book which I did enjoy. I received and voluntarily reviewed a free copy of this book. I felt really bad for the characters. The method of choosing your mate seems really old fashioned in this story. To be stuck with some one you feel unconnected to must be hell. I liked that the characters were able to make the best of a bad situation and find new lives. I think that the characters were well designed and I think the story line was unique. I received this as a free ARC.

Really enjoyed this book 2 of the Destined Mates series. Although this is a stand alone, I think reading book 1 first helps because it gave me a better understanding of the community that Cecil and Sam live in. Cecil and Lyle are wonderful characters with great chemistry and a strong connection. It's a quick enjoyable read. I voluntarily reviewed an advanced reader copy of this book. This was a very short story but cute and pregnant! Love at first sight is on the table. But hey, it's a shifter and mpreg. Love at first sight is a must, right? Be True to yourself I'm either getting old or going crazy, possibly both. I didn't realize that I had received an ARC of this book so I purchased it and read. So last night I'm going through all the books I received as ARCs and have to do reviews for and see this. Like I said a really enjoyable book.
