~3.5~ I loved this pairing. Micah is one of the most adorable MCs EVER! Micah loves life. He believes he has the best luck, and seeing Zach for the first time is almost a religious experience. Zach, Gabe's friend from book 1, ADORES Micah and treats him like gold. The comfort-healing trope is very gentle, with Zach accepting Micah exactly as he is. This is my kind of book: fluffy AND sexy (Micah is an insanely eager virgin). This would have been a solid 4+ star read, had it not been for the main ~3.5~ I loved this pairing. I really really enjoyed the first book in this series, do when I saw the second book was out...I jumped on it ;) This time we get Zach's story. Those of you who have read book 1, already know Zach as being one of Gabe's friends and also a Navy collegue. No worries though, for those who haven't read the first book, because this one can be read as a stand alone ;) I don't know why you would want to skip book 1 though...since I myself really freaking liked it ;) Zach is a medic in the Navy. He is bi I really really enjoyed the first book in this series, do when I saw the second book was out...I jumped on it ;) This time we get Zach's story. No worries though, for those who haven't read the first book, because this one can be read as a stand alone ;) I don't know why you would want to skip book 1 though...since I myself really freaking liked it ;) Zach is a medic in the Navy. He is bi sexual and he is tired of hook-ups. He wants something more in life. He actually wants someone to share it with. He has been dating like crazy, trying to find that one person that he shares that spark with. So far he has been shit out of luck, but he is not ready to give up yet. He knows he will have to work for it......The love of his life won't just fall down right at his feet...right :P Micah is ready to start a whole new life. He has been blind ever since he was in a horrible accident when he was 5. After having had surgery a year ago, he is finaly able to see again. Though thinks are not quite as he thought they would be. His brain can't seem to always understand what his eyes are telling him. Depth perception is particularly hard and Micah seems prone to trip over just about anything....inclusing his own feet. That doesn't stop him from going out and rediscovering the world though. He is a "the glas is half full" kinda type ;) I really really liked Micah. He was sweet, funny and positive and I would love to have a friend just like him in real life. One of his little trips to the beach actually ends up with him tripping and falling at the feet of one hottest men he has ever seen. Of course it's love at first sight...and the two of them decide to date and see if there is something more between them. I liked how they were together. I liked how Micah saw the world but still preferred to feel/ touch everything. Micah touching Zach for the first time was one of the sweetest and hottest things I have ever read.  It was all very sweet and very sexy......that is until the drama came. Now I don't mind drama, but in this case I was a bit annoyed. I didn't like Zach's way of thinking. I didn't like him trying to be some kind of martyr and I definitely didn't like, that in the end everything came down to Micah. Micah seemed to be the only one with balls in this book. I also had a slight problem with the word "musje" , but that is personal. You see Micah's mother is Dutch...like I am and the whole family calls him "musje", which translated means "little sparrow". This is not something we actually use over here to call anyone...especially a grown man, as far as I know. It sounded a bit weird to me, but like I said...that's just me. I did like the other Dutch words that were used...especially the very angry/nasty one I won't repeat :P All in all it was a nice read, but I have to say that book 1 so far is still my favorite. I just expected a bit more from Zach. I think Micah really made this book....he sure did for me. Next up will be Brody and I definitely want to hear his story... So far I am very intrigued by the man ;) My reviews are posted on Dirty Books Obsession

🌟All the stars for Micah! Adorkable! 🥰 And 3 for Zach. You asswipe 🤬🌟 Micah literally falls at Zach's feet. Blind since age 5 from an accident, at 22, he gets his sight back. He's sweet and charming and cute and did I mention his glass is always half-full? Zach is a caretaker. He loves to take care of people. He had a shitty childhood and I felt for him. I actually loved Zach until the whole ex drama hit full steam. And then he went stupid. I get he had a shitty past and didn't want to be like his father. But dude...use your freaking head. This is not the 1950's. You do not (view spoiler)[have to marry someone just because you "might" have knocked her up (hide spoiler)] . There are plenty of people who are wonderful (view spoiler)[parents (hide spoiler)] who aren't married to each other. I hate this troupe in MF and I especially despise it in MM. 🙄 So he pissed me off for hurting Micah. And I HATE that Micah was the one to go to him to make things right. Now I believe Zach would have eventually got his head out of his ass and made things right. Brody was helping him see the light when Micah stepped up but still...it pissed me the fuck off. (Pardon my language...he really made me angry) . He DOES redeem himself and is very sweet and romantic. And I loved the epilogue. So I forgave him...sorta...maybe...okay, fine...yes I forgave him. But Micah is still my favorite. ❤️

4 Stars! I really loved the first book in this series and I was looking forward to the second one. I was not disappointed. Micah is such an adorable MC. I instantly loved him. He is dating anyone who he feels like he might have a connection with, but atlas no has given him any sparks. That is until Micah. The attraction is instant. He is enamored by Micah and his joy for life. They are adorable together and I really liked how Zach encouraged Micah. This book has the perfect mix of sexy and sweet. It also had some annoyances by the name of Janis. I don't need to say anymore on that because if you have read the book you will know why and if you read the book you'll know why. Great addition to the series. I can't wait for the next one! Happy reading dolls! xx

This was quite a disappointment. Micah has been blind since he was 5 years old, but he recently he had an operation which allows him to see now. Zach is a Navy friend of Gabe, from the first book. And he is ready for love now that he is almost 30. That’s why he has been trying to find the right person by going on date after date. But when he meets Micah he know it is different this time. When these guys meet it’s like they’re both struck by lightning, and when Zach asks Micah on a date, Micah immediately says yes… I really liked how this started. Micah was super cute and had no filter at all. We also had the super hot smex with a total virgin, so that was a big plus too. But I slowly got more and more unhappy with Zach. I started to feel extremely irritated when he was feeling sad and didn’t tell Micah that. And when the beach scene happened, all I could think was (view spoiler)[ that Zach should just tell his stupid ex to get lost. But instead he just let her close and didn’t correct her enough when she said they could try again. (hide spoiler)] I can do an awful ex, I really can, but this was just ridiculous. (view spoiler)[Janis was such a horrible person. She didn’t even try to be friendly. And Zach was thinking about how he did enjoy the time he had with her while she was trying to literally crawl into his lap, that was such an awful scene. And don’t get me started on the whole ‘Janis is pregnant with Zach’s baby’ thing. Zach just let her walk all over him. And instead of him doing the groveling, Micah went after him to make things right. And why did he believe he actually cheated on Micah after the loving weeks they had together?? I lost all respect for him after that. (hide spoiler)] And that’s how I ended up thoroughly disliking Zach. He should have grown some balls. This had all the drama and stupid relationship angst, while I would have been happy with just Zach, the tough Navy dude, falling in love with clumsy Micah, who just got his sight back. All the rest was unnecessary imo. I’m going with 3 stars because Micah really was adorable. Oh, I totally forgot to mention the Dutch words in this. I do have to say that the swearwords were indeed correct, but the endearment Micah's sisters and mother used were just ridiculous. Musje is indeed little sparrow, but no one here would ever use it as an endearment. Wendy, Karlijn, Els, and I talked about this when Wendy and I were reading this book and Karlijn said it best, 'why does she call him musje, it's a fucking bird!' ;) Perhaps I can get away with calling my 3 year old by that name, but any self respecting 4 or 5 year old will tell me to please stop with the ridiculous word because he is too old for it now. And to think these women used it for a 22 year old, and Micah was just fine with it.... just no.. ------------------------------ This review has been cross-posted at Gay Book Reviews.

This romance is so sweet in places it might rot your teeth. But I am okay with that. Micah is so sunny and I love him. I love Zach as well. I think the sex scenes later in the book could have been more exploratory but the sexy times are an important part of this book. All the side characters are great. Reason tends to triumph drama and angst which is good. However, some of the conflict and lack of clear headedness for a while drags. Overall, the heroes are so great, it is a lovely read.

Micah looked up at Zach's blue eyes, they talked awhile, and Zach asked to see him again. They felt the "whoosh" , several times in this delightful tale. It's the sound, the spark and the specialness of the man in front of them. Having been blind and sheltered, Micah has never kissed, dated or anything else. He and Zach ignite a passion neither man has ever felt that deeply. The first kiss and sexiness for Micah are mind-blowing. He's speechless. Micah is so full of life and excitement ; a lust for life that's amazing. Zach loves being near him. We get friction when Zach's dad dies, his ex girlfriend comes around to lie and cause trouble. Micah has a heartwarming event with his neighbor and his Service Dog, where he shows us how huge his heart is. Through the thick and thin, we see the men bond and there's no turning back. It's a marvelous story of true love, deep devotion, and neverending trust. Have some tissues handy, because, oh my, these two brought tears to my eyes. "Precious"... This team of authors really know how to bringup emotions in their readers. LOVED IT ! Highly recommended. ENJOY ! =========

At first I thought that Micah's never-ending positive outlook and overwhelming joy would get annoying, especially when he talked about how wonderful and beautiful even the most mundane things could be. But even my Grinchy heart melted the further along I got in this book. What a charmingly romantic (and hot) story. 4.5 stars -- After loving the first entry in this series, as soon as I saw that Looking for Love had been released, I picked it up in anticipation of the next chance I had to read something that isn't on my ARC reading list. My enjoyment came from the same style of storytelling that hooked me before: a lot cute, a lot sweet fluffy, a good bit of heat with a hot military man, and an emotional issue that threatened to tear the guys apart. I also love seeing military guys acting romantic and lovey, 4.5 stars -- After loving the first entry in this series, as soon as I saw that Looking for Love had been released, I picked it up in anticipation of the next chance I had to read something that isn't on my ARC reading list. My enjoyment came from the same style of storytelling that hooked me before: a lot cute, a lot sweet fluffy, a good bit of heat with a hot military man, and an emotional issue that threatened to tear the guys apart. I also love seeing military guys acting romantic and lovey, and because Zach is looking for "the one," there's definitely a lot of that in this book. The man he ultimately falls for, or rather falls for him literally at his feet, is Micah. If you love overly positive and optimistic characters who are simply fascinated with everything and senses everything really strongly, you'll love Micah. Unfortunately, the emotional issue that served as the black moment of the relationship also kept me from enjoying the story as much as I had been, because vengeful exes (regardless of gender) are generally just a yuck factor for me, especially when (view spoiler)[it's a ex-girlfriend of a bisexual man who decides to spring a surprise pregnancy/baby on the happy couple (hide spoiler)] . As cute as this book is overall, it was a good bit longer than the previous book, and I wasn't convinced that it needed to be. It reads quickly, though, because the writing style is smooth and engaging. But because there was never anything within the relationship that threatened to keep it from working and no hesitation on either side to enter the relationship or move it forward, it all felt rather insta-everything. In fact, the first "date" goes a lot further a lot faster than I expected it to. By the 60% point, which based on its length was enough to make a full novel, there was still really nothing concrete to indicate the potential for trouble. Trust me, it comes after that, but I think the story could have been improved if it had started developing sooner. It's also worth noting that condoms do not appear in this book, and the "discussion" really isn't handled in the best of ways. While barebacking makes for great erotic fantasy, barebacking right from the first tends to spoil the romance a little for me. And, without giving away details, there's a scene toward the end where the question of safe sex really should have come up again, based on the plot going on during that part of the book, but there wasn't even a blink or thought mentioned, so be forewarned if that's a problem for you. As a whole, this is another winner by this author, and I'm eagerly looking forward to the third book in the series, because the Marine who will be one of the main characters is just the sort of troubled soul I tend to like. Sparrow Micah is such an a wonderful combination of innocence and the joy of being alive. I'm honestly still not sure how to feel about Janice. She's like nails on a chalkboard. If the book didn't have other wonderful female characters, and their interactions, I'd be more concerned about how loathsome Janice is. I know women like this exist, they just wouldn't be around my friends longer than a week. This book could have been AWESOME. Zach and Micah are amazing together. I loved everything about this book until we got to the whole "problem/issue". The POS ex come into the mix with the oldest story since the beginning of time, causing issues for Zach. Zach takes forever to man up and it just irritated the shit out of me. Great follow up for this new series I have two main things I have to say concerning this book. The first is that any romance which references my favourite scene from my favourite love story film starring my favourite actor is automatically a winner. (This one in case you were wondering) The second is that, the above notwithstanding, I almost chucked my Kindle at the wall because Janis. That plot was telegraphed from the off and it drives me utterly insane, it's every cliche I despise in any genre Great follow up for this new series I have two main things I have to say concerning this book. That plot was telegraphed from the off and it drives me utterly insane, it's every cliche I despise in any genre and I find it a huge cop out as a tension generating plot. So why the five stars overall? Micah of course. His character utterly made this book into something special. His simple joy at life, how he saw the world and how he experienced everything with such passion elevated the romance. And Zach was his perfect partner, fully complementing him in every way. Plus sparrows, a British staple on most fences or hedgerows and a much underappreciated garden bird as Cock Robin found out in the classic English nursery rhyme ;) Oh and the sex, the sex got this book a whole star just on its own. Micah is a virgin and the enthusiasm and pleasure with which he experiences the full range of sex is simply delightful.

This book was just OK for me. I don't know if I am in a rut or not but the whole Janis situation was ridiculous, not necessarily unrealistic but it just didn't fit in this book. Micah was OTT, rainbows and sunshine, and he was just too much for me. Zach was fine except for the thinking he should marry someone because they might be pregnant with his baby. Anyway, like I said, I could just be in a rut because a lot of people loved this book. This book was just OK for me. 3.5 stars It's actually pretty hard to write effective sweet fluff, as witness the many saccharine examples in my "read - meh" pile. This little book doesn't pretend to be much besides two pleasant people falling (literally, as it happens) in love, but Stella Starling gets the sugar-rating right. Her talent is being able to convey heartfelt "joy" really well, which gives a sense of depth to the slight plot. 3.5 stars It's actually pretty hard to write effective sweet fluff, as witness the many saccharine examples in my "read - meh" pile. How can I put this? Micah - sweet Micah - he was a breath of fresh air, a cold drink on a hot day, a stunning sunset after a romantic date. But he redeemed himself in the end, not succumbing to Janis and her lies but finally listening to Micah and realizing what a complete doofus he was being. And it's a good thing too, because if he hadn't - the readers wouldn't have been treated to things like this: Because kissing Zach? It felt like finally finding out what his lips had been made for. It felt like coming home That, right there, is enough to put a pitter-pat in even the most jaded of hearts. This book will make you look at love with bright, fresh eyes - kind of like Micah......who, in my eyes, is pretty darn perfect. I voluntarily reviewed an advanced copy.

It almost hurts me to have discovered a Stella Starling book that I thought was just a bit better than just okay, but this one wasn’t a complete hit for me. While the overall quality and tone was very consistent with other Starling works, two major things got me: - The Insta-Love. Holy shit. Yes, it was poignant and well-written, but it’s one of my least favorite common romance tropes. My inner cynic has an incredibly hard time letting it pass, and it was strong here. - That Bitch Janis and her lud It almost hurts me to have discovered a Stella Starling book that I thought was just a bit better than just okay, but this one wasn’t a complete hit for me. While I thought Zach was almost so perfect that it made him a tad bland (at least during scenes where his head wasn’t up his ass), Micah was a real joy. I think Zach was what Micah needed him to be for the story to work, but I’m positive that I’ll remember Micah for longer. Again, I absolutely buy what Stella Starling is selling. I’m not critiquing because I expected some hard-boiled drama or star-crossed romance; it’s more that I wasn’t a huge fan of some of the key story elements.

This book was SO CHARMING. I fell in love with both main characters right from the start - especially Micah, with his awkward adorableness and the way he just blurts things out when he's nervous. He made me laugh several times. He's such an optimist, and you don't feel sorry for his vision issues, because HE doesn't let it get him down or hold him back. Both Micah and Zach are total sweethearts, which means the conflict had to come from somewhere - enter the bitchy ex. I hated her almost enough This book was SO CHARMING. I hated her almost enough to take the review down a star, because DRAMA, but in the end I loved Zach and Micah (and friends and family) enough to make even the evil ex drama worth it. They are SO SWEET together. And hot. And it will leave you with a big smile on your face. Looking forward SO MUCH to Brody's story!!!

This book probably should come with a diabetes warning, it is so sugary sweet your teeth will ache! The phrase "insta - love" gets a new meaning here, it takes those guys around 2 seconds to fall for each other! But as you probably know, from time to time this is exactly what you want from a gay romance. I was definitely ready for some sweetness and I really didn't miss the drama or reality that this story was completely lacking. I mean there was a little drama, but I liked the way it was handled. I was definitely ready for some sweetness and I really didn't miss the drama or reality that this story was completely lacking. I mean there was a little drama, but I liked the way it was handled. You know those situations in gay romance novels where an ex interferes and suggests their relationship isn't really over. The next thing you know is that our hero in distress runs away without even asking for an explanation. There were several situations here that could have easily played out like this, but the author did not walk into this trap and even if it made the book maybe less dramatic, I absolutely loved the way our guys handled the situation and had faith in each other. Some goodreads friends found the ex girlfriend annoying and yes she definitely was, but as long as our boys don't question their feelings for each other, I didn't mind. I even loved the fact that Micah did not fall for her evil plot one minute, Zach needed a little longer but that was okay, as long as he made the right decision at the end. Both main characters were adorable, especially Micah who was able to see again after years being blind. Good friends, sweet neighbors, hunky soldiers and adorable service dogs, yes this is a feelgood book, maybe too much of everything and absolutely over the top, but it was just what I needed in this depressing time, when all you read in the papers and watch on TV is bad news. (no mention of Corona or Donald Trump in this book, I am so grateful)! Just the right book at the right time, I laughed a little, I cried a little and I had a good time reading it. Solid 3.5 stars

Looking For Love is a good read. Really good. And I like the length of the book. It gave me more time to get to know these lovely men. The author created a beautiful character in Micah. He is always optimistic, with kind words for everyone and everything. Well, except for the antagonist. But even then he isn't overly harsh, just honest. His view of the world peels away any ugliness, leaving a tender beauty behind. I just want to hang out with Micah to experience his innocence and unfailing optimism, to see the world through his eyes and to listen to his babbling when he gets overly excited. I could feel his exhilaration in even the most mundane tasks. His joy in life and his new perception of the visual aspects of that life are easily felt, and his conviction of his self-worth is beautiful to see. His immediate attraction for Zach is powerful and overwhelming. Zach is written as a strong, honorable man who has worked his entire life to not be like his parents. His backstory is just enough to get a good read on why he is the way he is. His immediate fascination with Micah is delightful and intense. Micah and Zach jump feet first into this new, passionate and heartfelt relationship, not holding back, and reveling in the new sensation of having someone so perfect for them. The banter is fun, the quirks are cute, and the passion is intense. Both characters are lovable from the start. The secondary characters are supportive to the storyline, providing context and interest to the MC's back stories and the antagonist is effective in providing a roadblock on their road to an HEA. The author made Zach and Micah more restrained in that situation that I could have been. Well done, Stella Starling! I look forward to the next story.

This is another original story from Stella Starling. Zach, who has given up one night stands and superficial relationships for over a year so he could find the one, his soulmate, meets Micah at the beach after they lock eyes and he watches as Micah trips and falls. Zach had a horrible relationship with his mother and a non-existent one with his father that affected him more than he realizes. But when he meets Micah, he truly believes that their connection is different from all the others he experienced. As their relationship develops, they both have to navigate how much to share with each other and they learn the hard way to communicate with each other. But the one thing I truly disliked about this book is Janice. She is the most uncaring, unsympathetic character that manipulates Zach's feelings about his parent's abandonment. But I've met people like her and the realism of her character gave me shivers of dread. But when Micah realizes that he can't live without Zach and shows up to tell him exactly how he feels, Zach knows that Micah is more important than anything else. The love that radiates from the pages made me smile and almost broke my heart at some points in the book, but I loved it!!

This review has been hidden because it contains spoilers. To view it, click here. 3.5 but could have been so much more. Can't figure how to rate this one. Like most people I LOVED LOVED Micah and Zach together. So very sweet and charming and vibrant and alive and so excited to be. Even the Ana, Sam, Pippin, Precious were all great wonderful characters that added so much to the storey. BUT sadly the whole Janice thing was predictable and distracting. Yes a bit of a disappointment the way Zach didn't grow a pair right away and stand up for himself and Micah but given the events 3.5 but could have been so much more. Yes a bit of a disappointment the way Zach didn't grow a pair right away and stand up for himself and Micah but given the events that had just happened and knowing his background I understand his hesitancy - but still I think the whole episode really detracted from the sweet fun storey. There really didn't need to be any angst - the getting to know each other, Zach helping introduce Micah to the world would have continued to work on its own.
