If you like humor, mystery and colorful characters, you will enjoy the Barbara Marr series. The characters in her adventures have a pseudo James Bond feel with a little cozy thrown in. Her first one in the series had me hooked, and I have enjoyed each one ever since. This one revolves around a murder at a nature center and mysterious man who thinks he is a time traveler. The characters in her adventures have a pseudo James Bond feel with a little cozy thrown in. Her first one in the series had me hooked, and I have enjoyed each one ever since. This one revolves around a murder at a nature center and mysterious man who thinks he is a time traveler. While trying to help her flu stricken friends, and deal with some unwanted publicity, Barbara works on discovering the mystery surrounding both the center and Moyle, the time 'twister.' When you read this series, you do have to suspend some disbelief like you would in a James Bond film as some of the situations are a little far fetched. But, they are enjoyable, and make for a fun story. If you have not read the others, you could get by without, because much of the story does not rely on important facets that took place in the others. She mentions enough of the previous points in the other books to not be lost, but if you want the full flavor of the characters, especially Barbara, you need to have read the books before this. One thing that is different in this from the other books, is that the author does not go into as much of the movie references as she did in the previous ones. I did not mind them in the other books, but I think that it works better in this one doing it lightly. Of the series, I would not say this is the best of her books, but it is an enjoyable romp that is perfect for a weekend read. Note for those who do challenges: this takes place around Halloween.

Okay I first want to state, That this was my first Barbara Marr novel that I read. I did read the chronicles of Barbara Marr, and I have also read Karen Cantwell's other books from her Sophie Rhodes Ghostly Romance series. Dial Marr for Murder is the sixth book in the Barbara Marr Murder Mystery series. All I have to say is #ThatKarenCantwell is a writing genius. Barbara Marr is a hysterical 40something stay at home wife and mother of 3. Barbara Marr is a hysterical 40something stay at home wife and mother of 3. When everyone in Rustic Woods seems to be coming down with the flu. Barb's friend, Bunny who works at the nature center asks for her help setting up for the Halloween walk. Apparently, all of the nature center volunteers seem to have caught this nasty flu going around. As Barb is helping with decorations she comes across a realistic looking murder scene at the nature centers pond. Come to find out the realistic looking murder scene was in fact a REAL murder scene, and it just so happens to be one of the nature centers volunteers. Go on an adventure with Barbara Marr as she helps to try to solve this murder, find missing people, battle the flu, and make gallons and gallons of her special flu bomb. Plus, also a special guest, Meryl Streep!!! #ThatBarbaraMarr is in for an adventure with an explosive ending.

**I received a review copy from Karen Cantwell in exchange for an honest review** I just love that Barb's so busy and nosy, and everyone knows it. At this point, the men around her have a code (yellow-orange-red) system to deal with her. They even have the grandma's in place, ready for Barb to be in danger again - lol! In this one, her oldest is off to college and the town is under siege from the flu. Not to worry, even though she doesn't do much cooking, she has the perfect recipe for her flu bomb that keeps the people around her from getting ill. Yes there's a dead body, but she tries really hard to stay out of it. There's a lot of different twists in this one that kept my attention. She is in constant motion helping out her friends, taking care of her family, and trying to avoid stalking her oldest girl. And maybe, just maybe she will get to meet Meryl Streep!!! If you haven't read the previous books, you can still jump in here. But then you will want to go back and read them all! Great price for a fun story.

I loved this book. It was a good mystery that somewhat built on previous stories although I think you could view it as a stand-alone story. It was also hilarious! Poor Barbara Marr has her hands full with a murder, wacky family and friends and a nasty flu that is felling just about everyone she knows. More than once I wondered what else could go wrong for our heroine. I admit I love these books and would like to see the author write a LOT more. Highly recommended if you looking for a good myster I loved this book. It was a good mystery that somewhat built on previous stories although I think you could view it as a stand-alone story. My absolute favourite of the series - a must read! Loved it. Alright it is was over the top but it had everything I have come to expect - a zany storyline, fabulous characters, humour and thrills. When flu hits the community, she steps in to help where she can. Even if it means getting embroiled in another murder. Is the crime a one off or does it have links to a murky government scheme. Time travel, passion and revenge are all mixed and with an explosive ending to boot. Really think that this wa My absolute favourite of the series - a must read! Loved it. Another fantastic offering by Karen Cantwell. In the sixth Barbara Marr adventure, the flu is going around Rustic Woods, and that leaves the door open for much frivolity. Barbara is called in to volunteer at the RW Nature Center, and what she discovers there, well... it touches off a little investigation with plenty of twists and turns. Loved it. Can't wait for Barbara Marr 7! Another fantastic offering by Karen Cantwell. #ThatBarbaraMarr! Barbara Marr is back in this wacky murder caper. Cantwell is a master of creating characters that jump off the page, and "Dial Marr for Murder" is no different.
