I truly enjoyed this Sci-Fi world. I'm not going to lie, it took me a bit to get into this one and I was a bit confused about where the author was going with the story in the beginning, but once it started to unfold, I was in. P. Temple Hickey has a real talent for bringing to life characters that a reader just connects with and roots for from the very beginning. The journey of Scotland was very fun to read about. Hickey has done a great job of bringing something new to the YA Sci-Fi world. The I truly enjoyed this Sci-Fi world. I liked the flow of the novel overall once it got moving. Several moments throughout surprised me!

A nice, easy to read semi-dystopian; far in the future; on another planet private eye novel. Plot was setup like most hero stories. **Potential spoiler** Tragic event: loss of father Heroes path forward is set: assigned by old boss of father Flawed sidekick: recovering junkie Love interest: Attractive, hard to read Solves puzzles no one else has been able to: genius who couldn't afford to go to college Bad guy introduced: Easy to figure out Heroes starts quest to take down baddie: usual bit Finds useful A nice, easy to read semi-dystopian; far in the future; on another planet private eye novel. She wouldn't Bad guy destroys himself: Typical bad guy monologue explaining all he has done to get to this point. Potential twist? Happy ending where everyone gets what they wanted and moved up a little in life. **End of potential spoilers** I kept waiting for a twist in almost every chapter, but it never came. The author kept setting it up and the tease goes on for the entire book. Maybe I am used to being side swiped with a twist from other authors. 3/5 for teasing me along without any eventual twist.

The first thing that I look for when reading a new author and learning about the world they created is for them to be able to make the world come to life for me. This is something that Patrick T. Hickey really managed to do with The Nostradamus Code. He manages to give great imagery and descriptions to bring the novel to life for his reader. I think that the plot and pacing were also very well done. I enjoyed the characters and the flow of the novel. There are a lot of moving parts to this novel and a good amount of drama and action without being action packed. I liked the way the characters were relatable even though it was set in a different time period. The Sci-Fi aspect is very well done and the imagery and setting is amazing. The Author really brings the world to life through words. Get ready to be immersed in the world and captivated by the characters he has created.

This novel had a lot of heart and a lot of action. Scotland is an interesting lead. I found the plot to be riveting with plenty of twists and turns, drama, and much more along the way. The writing style was fluid and fast paced, which I really enjoyed! I highly recommend this one to any YA Sci-Fi junkies like me!
