I like these books for their small town setting and how it is built on by the author. She mixes in Welsh mythology - which I don't actually know a lot about. So I find them entirely readable without having pre-knowledge of the mythology. I don't know if you'd get more from them if you already knew the mythology. This one includes a re-creation of the Cauldron of Ceredwin - and having now read about that the idea of re-creating it is either "what a bad idea" or "that'll never work". So maybe someone familiar with the legend would have been cringing in the earlier part of the book as super-enthusiastic Sian announces that as part of her special event.

Since I don't normally write reviews unless I have something specific to say, here's the break down of how I rate my books... 1 star... This book was bad, so bad I may have given up and skipped to the end. I will avoid this author like the plague in the future. 2 stars... This book was not very good, and I won't be reading any more from the author. 3 stars... This book was ok, but I won't go out of my way to read more, But if I find another book by the author for under a dollar I'd pick it up. 4 sta Since I don't normally write reviews unless I have something specific to say, here's the break down of how I rate my books... 1 star... It has earned a permanent home in my collection and I'll be picking up the rest of the series and other books from the author ASAP.

The course and hidden secrets A great read. Okay it wasn't really a mystery, mystery as I'm sure that like me you knew the truth before it was declared but it was still a great read. Great to see how all the characters are growing and evolving with each book and the changes thar are occurring in their powers. Possession and old feuds are interwoven into a tale that will keep your interest.

I enjoyed the book. I loved the series and I am sad I finished it. This story feels authentic and has believable characters and setting. The magic feels more real than many stories do. The stories revolve around problems occurring because something was thrown out of balance and needs to be addressed to make things right again. There are many different magical practices relating back to long held traditions subtly woven into the story. In the end aren’t we all just a little magical?

Just downright good! I can't tell you how refreshing this series is. It's detailed and believable. I really enjoy the hedge witch viewpoint. There is nothing fluffy here, nor does it seem to be out and out fantasy. It is nitty gritty daily life of a Welsh hedge witch with a murder mystery thrown in. This third book is especially good and I can't wait to see book four. I know I'm not describing this well. Just READ it; you will be glad you did! Just downright good! An Excellent Read! Each of the books in this series keeps getting better and more intriguing! The mystery keeps me guessing until things start being revealed in the end and the characters keep fleshing out wonderfully!

On your toes Kept you wondering who did what and why. A little dark but a good read. I will read the next book.

Very good book. First, a suggestion for the author. Raise your prices! These books are too good to sell this cheap. Good stories, good characters, and great plots.
