A: I'm an attorney and have done a lot of technical writing, but knew I wanted to write novels. I thought I'd find time when I retired. Fate stepped in, as it often does, and put me on this path sooner. I broke my neck in an auto accident and suffered from double vision for months. I couldn't read or watch TV, so I conceived the plot for my 5 book Rosemont series. Q: Why did you decide to write a series? A: I prefer television series to movies. The longer format of television allows for deeper character development. The same holds true for series fiction. I like to fall in love with a character or hate a character (but root for them to change their ways). I feel like Mma Ramotswe and Mma Makutsi from Alexander McCall Smith's Ladies' Detective Agency series are old friends. I wanted to recreate that sort of connection in the Rosemont series. Q: What other authors do you read or admire? A: I'm a fan of women's fiction, women's sagas, and romance. I love Rosamunde Pilcher's later trilogy -The Shell Seekers, Coming Home, and September. Jan Karon's Mitford series creates an enchanting world, as does Debbie Macomber's Cedar Cove. My Rosemont series is set in the current day, but I've tried to capture a feeling of camaraderie and connection (among the good guys) that takes us back to a slightly simpler time and place. Q: What are your favorite books? A: In addition to the works I've already mentioned, I adored Major Pettigrew's Last Stand, The Guernsey Literary and Potato Peel Pie Society, and A Long Way from Chicago. Q: Who has had the greatest influence on your author life? A: My dad--without question. He told me or read me a bedtime story every night of my childhood, often adding his own twists and turns to the plots or dialogue. He had an incredible, gentle sense of humor. He also wrote novels--who-done-its--when he retired. I have 17 of his manuscripts and can feel his comforting presence in the room with me when I pick up his pages and read. Q: What of your own interests have you written about in the Rosemont series? A: I love my home and all things related to homemaking: cooking, gardening, decorating, and entertaining. I love celebrating all of the seasons and I change my decor for Easter, 4th of July, fall, Halloween, Thanksgiving, Christmas, and spring. I'm also addicted to vintage silver and all sorts of china, with a special fondness for teapots.

It was so fun to read and took only a couple of hours to finish. It is well-written like the others and very believable. Unlike some series when the last books are not as good as the first, Barbara has managed to keep her books all at a high standard. Maggie and the Special Prosecutor are finally making headway in the fraud and embezzlement case. However, the loose cannon is still Chuck Delgado. No one knows what he will do when they begin to close in on arresting him. They are still lacking the final documentation needed to make an airtight case. Susan, Maggie’s daughter, is finally getting over the nasty superbug she got after giving a kidney to her little half-sister, Nicole. Things were touch and go with Susan for a while and her new husband, Aaron, has been with her the entire time. Now he has to return to California and his residency there. Susan will be staying in Rosemont until she recovers more. Frank Haynes is trying to figure out how to keep Lorraine and her children safe from Delgado while Frank tries to figure out how to get Delgado arrested and keep himself out of trouble. In addition, he is in the middle of trying to get Rosemont since he is a legal heir. However, he has to decide if he will pay for Nicole’s kidney transplant or keep his money to buy Maggie’s half of Rosemont. Things just keep happening that tangle the plot which makes reading this last book so enjoyable. It is well worth the time it takes to read it.

Even though I read this book several weeks ago, my thoughts still return to my friends in Westbury. I wonder what adventures they are getting into now. Perhaps Hinske has more rabbits to pull out of her hat for Westbury yet!! We shall see. Thank you Barbara Hinske for a wonderful series. I thoroughly enjoyed it. Barbara Hinske's Bringing Them Home concludes her Rosemont series. Each of these books could be read as a standalone but are much better as the series. Chuck Delgado is the evil character in the Rosemont series, especially in Bringing Them Home. My disgust for him was almost palpable even though he was a fictional character. Maggie and John are close to unraveling the mystery of town corruption and the missing funds. Apparently they are getting too close and deadly consequences threaten them. Maggie Martin is the mayor who has the responsibility to the people of the town when the leadership was previously rocked due to fraud and betrayal by some city officials. There is a key document missing which should help make the case against Delgado during the upcoming trial. Maggie is expecting her daughter, Susan, to be coming home from the hospital after a horrible infection which nearly took her life. This will begin a new era for Maggie since Susan married her beloved Aaron while still in the hospital recovering from her illness. Susan is still too weak to start her life as a newly married woman and will need some follow-up care. Amid this we have David who wants to clear his fathers name in the recent fraud scheme. His father had been the previous mayor and had unwittingly participated in the town embezzlement and later killed himself in shame. This story brings in our friends from the previous Rosemont stories and we meet some new characters, such as Grace and her brother. As always we love our animal friends such as Roman and Dodger. Read Bringing Them Home to find out…who is getting married…who is having a baby…and who has a new girlfriend!

Bringing Them Home by Barbara Hinske is the fifth book in the Rosemont series. Maggie Martin is the mayor of Westbury and owner of Rosemont where she lives with her husband, John. Soon Susan will be able to start her new life as Mrs. Aaron Scanlon in California. But what happens when Aaron’s residency is completed? Maggie is worried about the case against Chuck Delgado. It will be going to trial soon, but Alex is not sure they have enough evidence. There are people in the town who have the proof needed to put Chuck away. But one if afraid of being implicated in Chuck’s crimes and another wants to protect a relationship. Another person gets in Chuck’s way and does not get the opportunity to come forward. Chuck will do whatever it takes to avoid jail. David Wheeler wants revenge against Chuck for his father’s death. David decides to look for the needed documents. If Delgado catches him, David will not make it home to his mother. Maggie gets to spend some time at Highpointe College, and it leads to a wonderful offer. Is this the right time for to make a change? Come back to Rosemont to see if Chuck Delgado gets his due and to catch up on everyone’s lives in Bringing Them Home. Bringing Them Home is nicely written, easy to read, and has a good pace. The setting sounds lovely (I enjoyed the descriptions of the town), and I like the good guys in the series (Chuck and his cohorts need to be taken down). There are several storylines in the book (as you can see from my summary), but it is easy to keep track of them all. Bringing Them Home is the fifth book in the series, and it is not a stand-alone novel. Each book in the series builds upon the previous one (in other words, you need to read them in order). I give Bringing Them Home 4 out of 5 stars (I liked it). The Chuck Delgado storyline ending was anticlimactic. It was wrapped up too quickly and cleanly (and the readers were not a part of it). I did like how all the storylines were wrapped up in the end. It was a lovely and sweet conclusion (you will finish the book with a smile on your face).

Barbara Hinske's Bringing Them Home: The Fifth Novel in the Rosemont Series is absolutely amazing. I would be lying if I said I wasn't sad to see this series end. If I were you, I would buy the books so that you are able to return to them at any time...believe me, you will want to. I also own the audiobooks of the first 4 in the series...I'm hoping the 5th comes out soon, so that I also have my full set of those. The narration is phenomenal. In fact, my love of the audiobooks is what convinced me to also get the print copies. I feel like you get to know the characters on a personal level with the audio, which is not something I frequently feel with audiobooks. I have posted lengthy reviews of each of the books on Audible, in case you are interested in the audio versions, instead. I want everyone to know about the Rosemont series!! I love it so much...it is something that stays with you long after you are finished. :-) It gives hope, it brings happiness, and it has opened my eyes to things I never realized were missing in my life, until now. Barbara Hinske, thank you for writing this wonderful series that I will hold forever in my heart. :-)

Barbara hits a home run again! I loved this new book. The story follows the same families as the other four books in the Rosemont series. I could hardly wait for this to come out and see what happened to Maggie & John, Frank and Loretta - and the scum bag Chuck Delgado. I don't know if she's doing another Rosemont - if not I'll be sad as I loved this series. But I'll read anything Barbara Hinske writes, she's such a great writer and Maggie reminds me of Barbara. So satisfying I’ve enjoyed this series so much. I’ve related to the main character as a mother, grandmother, home owner, wife and lover of kind people - oh and dogs too! Not so much cats. Wonderful series Writing as an incurable romantic who also enjoys mayhem and intrigue, I found this series impossible to put down. The characters were believable (especially Maggie). (I volunteered to read this book gifted to me by the author) This is a stunning conclusion to a wonderful series as Maggie and her husband still have a marvelous community that has built up around them as the series has progressed. As per usual, this book had me wishing the series would never end. Maggie reminds me of friends since passed who would have adored these books. And it sure is nice to have a peaceful group of friends and acquaintances as one looks into the future. Highly recommended

When book four of the Rosemont Series ended there was no mention of a fifth book. I had thoroughly enjoyed these books and I wasn't satisfied that all loose ends had been tied up to my satisfaction. I was pleasantly surprised to be offered a chance to read the fifth book before publication. I was very happy with the way the author completed each characters story. Things seem to be getting tied up quite nicely, but I really don’t want this series to end, and hope it doesn’t. I can see this series going along just fine with a new position for Maggie and a brand new mayor. Course, it was nice to see the bad guys finally get theirs. It was also heartwarming to see how doing right wins out and is rewarded. I will miss the people of Westbury, if this is the end. I so enjoyed meeting and knowing them.

A satisfying ending I wrote a review after I read the 4th book, thinking it was the last in the series, here I was a tad bit upset. (Ok" I was angry!). I really enjoyed this series This is a sweet romantic mystery series. You can't help but fall in love with all of the characters. And there are some unexpected twists to keep you on your toes. Going to miss this series It is worth your while to read this series set in an idyllic New England town. Hinskes storyline touches on many subjects ranging from second chance romance to pets to a fantasy inheritance to eating and entertaining in style. The scrooge in the story grows a new heart . Each side story could be its own book. Enjoy a fun page turner. Sorry that all of the stories have been wrapped up. Left me wanting more.

Totally a wonderful series! I gave each novel 5 stars but no review as I really could not wait to read the next. They were all well written and certainty engage this audience. Every member of the large cast of characters was a distinct personality. The bad guys were bad and the good guys had character flaws that made them believable. Best of all was the lesson that people are redeemable.

I have loved the Rosemont from #1 to #5. The characters have come to life for me and become friends that I enjoy following in each book. I love Barbara Hinske's style of writing and I have a complete picture of Westbury in my mind as well as the beautiful Rosemont. Another great read with an unpredictable ending. Each book draws you in as if you are there in the story. Maggie, the main character still is the friend that draws you along with the various story lines. The stories are separate but also intertwine the characters. This is the 5th book in the series, each book kept me intrigued and wanting more of the story.

I thoroughly enjoyed this book and the rest of the series as well. Do yourself a favor and curl up and get to know the characters of Rosemont. You will not be disappointed. I am thrilled that I found this series. The characters are fun and complex at times. It feels like a great community to be a part of. Try it, you'll like it! Best yet Many of the different storylines are wrapped up in this book. I can't tell you how, because that would give everything away. You have to read this book to find out more about Maggie and John, Susan and Aaron, Alex and Mark, David and Grace, and of course, Frank and Loretta. This is a series I would read again. Good series Loved this series. It was hard to wait on book 5. If you like to follow a group of characters this is the series to enjoy. I don't know if I could be as forgiving as Maggie is even with the lies she fought against, or be civil to the people she knew to be behind the crimes. Good series Loved this series. A wonderful series I just finished reading the final book in the Rosemont series; I won't give away any secrets, but I will say that its characters and setting drew me in from the first page to the last. Barbara Hinske's books are engaging, exciting and warm-hearted and I look forward to reading everything she writes!
