I was gifted this book for my birthday, and overall I have to say I really enjoyed it! I love Cameron's style, and her tips were spot-on. Her style is similar to mine, so I loved seeing her outfits for inspiration. I also made notes with some of her hair/skin/health tips. The photography in this book is fun and gorgeous. I feel for the purpose of "staying stylish", it definitely is useful. It lost a couple stars for me because the short section on faith was so superficial, it made me cringe a lit I was gifted this book for my birthday, and overall I have to say I really enjoyed it! The photography in this book is fun and gorgeous. I feel for the purpose of "staying stylish", it definitely is useful. It lost a couple stars for me because the short section on faith was so superficial, it made me cringe a little. Cameron talks about her own relationship with Jesus and encourages her readers to develop their "relationship with God". She also includes this line: "We will all spend eternity somewhere, and I want to spend it with the Lord, Jesus Christ. That is why I prioritize time for my relationship with Jesus through Bible study, church, and prayer." That's as close as it gets to a gospel presentation. The problem is, that is not even close to the gospel. I'm going to give her the benefit of a doubt and assume she was trying to encourage people to just read the Bible with the hope that they would come to a knowledge of the truth. But there is no gospel presentation here, and I have a problem with Christians encouraging non-Christians to work on their "relationship with God" without explaining the gospel. The problem with this is that reading your Bible, praying, and going to church won't save you. We humans have no basis to approach God on our own. We have no right or ability to have a relationship with Him - not until we recognize that we are sinners, and without Christ's sacrifice, our only posture for approaching God is out of fear, because we deserve His judgement and death and Hell. Jesus came to die in our place, and rose again to save us from all that. We can't have a relationship with Him until we understand who we truly are without Christ, how unworthy we are and how unable to even approach God, and place our trust in Christ alone to save us. All our "praying" and "Bible reading" is a mere pile of filthy rags to God until we turn to Jesus in repentance and faith. Cameron's brief touch on faith missed all that. It is actually quite unkind to imply to someone that they can have a relationship with God without clearly explaining the gospel. They'll think they are fine when they're not. That was my main concern with this book, but for the stated purpose of the book, it was fine. I just almost wish Cameron didn't include a section on her faith if she wasn't going to be clear. That's my take.

So excited to share Candace's new book with you all. This book was done with so much class and is chock full of so many tips. I learned a lot of great tips and tricks one that has stuck out to me is the one where she tells those of us that don't like to drink water how to improve it by adding essential oils to the water. She is not shy in sharing that God is the most important part of her life. Candace is one of very few people in Hollywood that shares he love for Jesus every chance that she gets. She talks about Prayer, writing in a journal, and my absolute favorite reading. She shares a list of her favorite Non-fiction and fiction books. Oh what lists they are. I happen to agree with her on a few on them. She says she makes sure that she invests time with God. I feel like this is book that all of us ladies need to spend time in and go back to again and again. This is a 5 star two times book. I HIGHLY recommend it. It’s about yourself – what you feel beautiful wearing and what makes you most comfortable, which leads to confidence.” I like how she goes through each item of clothing and talks about things to think about before purchasing them. I also like her helpful tips, for example, “Tip. “Fill your closet with timeless basics that work well with each other. Make sure they are high quality and versatile enough to transition from casual to dressy and from day to night.” She then talks about how to dress up a casual outfit, and her favorite places to find basic items of clothing she lists stores she likes and favorite brands. I appreciated her mentioning where to spend money and where to save it on certain items for your wardrobe. She shows you how to polish off an outfit and talks about how simplicity is a rule to guide you. She goes over these items of clothing; T-Shirts, Blouses, bottoms and dresses, pants, shirts – White Dress, The A-line dress – Denim, Skinny Jeans, Distress, Chopped Jeans, How to bring new life to old jeans, jump suits and jackets and so much more. The second part of this book shows what Candace does for Skin Care, Makeup and Hair Care. She goes over her Morning and night routine and how to tips for the ultimate polish make-up tips, along with being brave with your hair. The author says, ..”living a healthy life is the first step to appearing strong, beautiful, and happy.” She talks about feel “good” foods, eating well to make you feel energized on the inside that will have you look good on the outside. She mentions healthy snacks she likes, and gives a list for her favorites. She also talks about staying strong by exercising with weights and stretching. And finally, she talks about nourishing your spirit through prayer, journaling, reading fiction and non-fiction books and she has tips for managing stress. I enjoyed these tips and all the wonderful pictures inside to help get her point across about style, make up and exercise. This is a beautiful hard back book with a ribbon (to help mark your place). It’s a good reference book and one that would make a great gift too. Disclosure of Material Connection: I received a complimentary copy of this book from the publisher. This was a fun read learning tips about everything from clothes to makeup, hair, and spending time with God. Her style is definitely more out there than I’m going for, but there were some fun nuggets along the way. My favorite part was the end section on nourishing your Spirit- mentally, spiritually, physically “To give your all, you have to HAVE your all.” Healthy living will make benefit me in SO many ways! ❤️

Who didn't watch Full House growing up? I know on Friday nights, I looked forward to the TGIF shows on TV and would snuggle up on the couch with my mom and sing at the top of my lungs, "Whatever happened to predictability.....". Now, I'm all grown up with two kids of my own and I get to read her amazing accomplishments, most recently, Staying Stylish. It is currently the center piece of my coffee table where it will continue to be for me, and others, to look through on a daily basis. She gives absolutely amazing advice in this book. Now, I am not a skinny woman. Not by a long shot, but reading through this book, Candace gives great style and healthy living advice in a way that makes me feel included. She incorporates her faith and love of God into her pages. Now a days, in the type of world we live in, we find people who all to often hide their faith and religion for fear of being judged or frowned upon. But not Ms. Bure. She lets it shine and it really makes this coffee table book the perfect addition for my family. I am definitely pleased that I got this book. It is definitely full of 5 star worthy tips and suggestions. After closing the book, I sat there reflecting on her words and thinking about the things she said that I could do to make myself more stylish without really changing who I am as a person. I definitely recommend this book to all! Ms. Bure will capture your heart and you'll want to share this book with everyone in your life. I can't wait to get more of her books with fantabulous tips inside! Bravo, Ms. Bure. Bravo! *I purchased a copy of this book for my personal collection and was under no obligation to post a review, positive or negative.*

I really love all of the pictures to illustrate the different things covered in the book. Ms. Bure writes in a down-to-earth manner. Her tips and tricks are very practical and ones a normal person can implement. I found myself recently consulting the book on the best way to wear a skirt. What I love most is that Ms. Bure doesn't just talk about beauty and style, but also how important it is to take care of oneself physically, mentally and spiritually. She talks about prayer, journaling and having a quiet time. Lastly, she stresses that you should be true to yourself! Content: This is a clean read. The only problem I can see one having is that people have different convictions on modesty and some Christians may not be comfortable with some of her outfits. Rating: I give this book 5 stars! This book was good, but not anything groundbreaking. I’m interested in it because I’m the same age as CCB and grew up watching her on “Full House”. I listened to the audio narrated by Candace herself. She tells many stories about her own personal evolution of style and how she became more confident with fashion. She gives suggestions of brands that she likes and they’re not all crazy expensive. But honestly, this book is passable. I kind of knew this wasn't going to be the book for me, but I was interested in the spiritual argument for feminine presentation. She made a pretty weak argument in that area, not even broaching the topic until the final part of the book. I have read a couple of Candace's books in the past and was curious to see what she would do with a style book. I have to say, I was more than impressed with Staying Stylish! I've read other celebrity fashion and style books in the past and while they can be entertaining, often the tips aren't practical and the fashion isn't affordable for us non-celebrities. Candace's style is attainable for my lifestyle and budget and you feel more like you're getting tips from a friend than a celebrity. The first section of the book deals with fashion and style - covering everything from what to buy and how to wear it, to closet organization and packing tips. Other sections cover beauty, hair, health and fitness and some general lifestyle tips. As I said, this book definitely exceeded my expectations and while I was sent this book from the publisher to review, I would have definitely bought this on my own. If you're looking to add a style book to your collection, this is a great one!

Candace Cameron Bure is a very fashionable actress in a down to earth way. I think she dresses more like we would everyday than most celebrities I have seen photos of. Because of that, this book was more relate-able than I expected. I do wish this was more made like a magazine, with pictures and pricing of the items she was listing. I appreciated the broad spectrum of things she covered in this book, from things such as God to a face regimen. No matter what the list, she would always seem to include high end products and usually mention drug store options as well. I will always see her as 'DJ' from Full House, so it is always a throwback to my childhood while reading her books or watching her movies, even if she is an adult now.

She shares her go-to ways to keep yourself healthy, and not only by nutrition and fitness but also by keeping yourself sane by doing things that help you stay recharged. We cannot expect to care for other people when we ourselves are running on empty.

Well this was a fun read! I think Candace gives some great little tips in this book. She talks about clothing, skin care, makeup, and self-care, including exercise, healthy eating, and spirituality. If you are like me and have different points of view on spirituality you can either just skip the small part she has on Christianity or read it and apply it to your own views. I’m even considering purchasing this because I liked it so much. I’ll say 4.5 Stars.

I wanted to love this because I adore Candace Cameron Bure as an actress and I do love her devotion to faith. However, I couldn't get past the "vacuous" parts (like her favorite designers and clothing brands...none of which many of her fans would ever be able to afford) to see the depth. Rats! a quick, light read This is a fun little book! I appreciate that the author looks at beauty holistically: something involving the whole person (mind, body, and spirit), not just one’s outward appearance. I pulled some good product tips from the pages (she almost always has budget-friendly recommendations) and was reminded of some style ideas that had fallen to the side of my daily routine.

I would have loved more references to her Christian lifestyle and fashion related to that.

My Review: The author has always had a love for all things fashion. It shows, too. We see her on the television and she is the epitome of every wife and mother out there, but she has a sort of flair with her styling that a lot of us don't have. So when this book come along, I had to have it. I have to know Candace's secrets. The best part of the book in my opinion is where Candace not only lets us in on her private thoughts about fashions and trends but where she shares her love for Jesus. Nourishing your spirit is even more important than nourishing your body and she shares this sentiment, as well. She tells us what she does to help enrich her spiritual walk and she even shares some of her favorite books, too. A great read and it give me a look into the Candace Cameron Bure. **Disclosure** This book was sent to me free of charge for my honest review from the author. All opinions are my own.

Anyone who knows me will be surprised to see that I read this book...but you have to keep people guessing sometimes, right? This may be a fashion book (sorry sis, you got all those genes), but it's more than that - it's a book about knowing and being yourself, embracing your beliefs, and having a healthy attitude toward appearance. There are three main sections. The first features fashion tips on clothing, closet organization, and purchasing tips. The second focuses on skin care, hair care, and hair styles. She even harkens back to her Full House days here. The third focuses on self-care, including stress management tips. Part of looking good is taking care of yourself, inside and out, and that's what these last two sections really focus on. It's a quick read, and you can flip through it leisurely (doesn't have to be read in order). CCB is still as down-to-earth as ever, making it easy for anyone to relate to...even someone as fashion-challenged as myself!

Right now, I'm a total fangirl for Candace Cameron Bure and I don't care how much I'm judged for it. That being stated, Staying Stylish: Cultivating a Confident Look, Style, and Attitude is a self help semi autobiographical tome. It's separated into three parts and numerous sub categories especially the first part. Part One is the Fashion chapter. Essentially Bure is saying that your look should reflect you. It shouldn't be a facsimile of someone's else look. It'll take many trial and errors but once you have the look that's totally you, it should build your confidence because you're comfortable in your own skin. Bure also takes the time to go through the basics, patterns, and caring for clothes. Part Two is skincare and hair care. With all the makeup she wears, her skin needs a break to rejuvenate. She uses the basic cleanser, toner, and moisturizing routine. However, Bure really cares about hair. She's dyed it so many colors over the years, she needed to properly take care of it. Hair cuts are key! Part Three is emotional, mental, and spiritual health and its upkeeping. For Bure, she exercises, hangs out with friends and family, reads, keeps a journal and prays. I found those to be great and conducive outlets when you need to de-stress from life. I really liked Bure's Staying Stylish. I really enjoyed the first two parts because she provided inexpensive counterparts to her clothes, makeup, skincare, and hair care routines. That's a big help for people like me who can't afford the more expensive products. I really enjoyed Part Three because a lot of activities Bure does to de-stress, I do especially exercising, reading, and journaling. Those activities are great to do alone when I need a break from the harshness of reality. If Candace Cameron Bure writes another book, I can't wait to read it!

God. Attitude. Style. Health. Giving back. This book may be about Candace from the inside and out, but it's also about the reader and what makes you feel the best. I love how Candace's style is chic, yet simple, and how you can make clothes your own. She even admits to wearing things more than once and buys tops in more than one color. Praise! It's great that she is really focused on the natural you and bringing out what you already have, to where you are still a recognizable you. Some of her fa God. Attitude. Style. Health. Giving back. It's great that she is really focused on the natural you and bringing out what you already have, to where you are still a recognizable you. Some of her favorite stores to buy tops, at least, are some of mine, as well. She rarely talks about expensive spending, minus the occasional splurge. I feel like she really knows her readers. The sections are broken down for easy finds and are in great order. My favorite section for style is Denim, Denim, Denim. There are so many ways to rock denim for any age, thanks Candace! If you're a denim lover, I hope you'll love it. Throughout the entire book, I found myself saying, "Yeah, me, too!" a few times, especially when she talked of her bold choices in style or hair choices. I mean she even remembers a style trick from a babysitter of hers. Props. I love how Candace relates God and having a relationship with Him to your appearance inside and out. Even though, she's older than me (but still a beauty!), married with a family of her own; I "grew up" with her, her journey with God, and have seen her style evolve or come back full circle and I can still relate on some level. The book may seem huge, but for me it was a quick read because I thoroughly enjoyed it and I definitely know I've enjoyed a book when I've sticky marked the pages! And there are plenty of gorgeous Candace pics to keep you engaged! I've received a complimentary copy, but hello, I was going to get it anyway!

It is divided into three parts: Fashion is All About Balance; Skin Care, Makeup & Hair Care; and Health, Fitness & Nourishing Your Spirit. In each of these sections, Candace shares both personal stories and practical applications for her topics. A few of my favorite ideas include her basic wardrobe essentials, tips for skin care, tricks for repurposing older clothing items, and easy fitness ideas. If you (or a friend who would enjoy this book as a gift!) are a fan of Candace Cameron Bure, aka DJ Tanner from “Full House”, this book will be a lovely addition to your collection. On the other hand, her ideas are so universally helpful, you don’t necessarily even need to know who Candace is to benefit from her “Staying Stylish” tips and ideas. Overall, this book will appeal to women of all ages (and thankfully, most budgets, too!) who would enjoy some new ideas for “Cultivating a Confident Look, Style, & Attitude”. I received this book free from the publisher through the BookLook Bloggers program. I was not required to write a positive review. The opinions I have expressed are my own.
