Somehow in my mind, that’s not the way I picture Dr. Colmain. Lucky girl, if that’s what he’s really built like, but it just doesn’t seem to fit what I read in the book. Somehow in my mind, that’s not the way I picture Dr. Colmain. Lucky girl, if that’s what he’s really built like, but it just doesn’t seem to fit what I read in the book. In the book, he seems a bit on the nerdy side. But I guess you can be a nerd and still be ripped. I just don’t know where he’s going to put his pocket protector. Nix was such a sad character in her poverty and isolation. And yet, she’s out helping others and taking care of her saved animals. She camouflages herself in baggy clothes and goth makeup so people won’t get too close or even look too closely. And she hasn’t a clue what she is or how to control her power. I think her name is so appropriate, Phoenix, Phoenix rises! And her giant poodle, Anubis. What a pair. The Sergeant Brother Templar’s turning cartwheels in his head thinking he’s having his own special holy day with her dropped into his lap. And then there’s the Professor. What a creepy guy. Thank heavens and the Magus Corps for Hugh! Parts of this didn’t quite fit together and didn’t seem likely, even in a fantasy novel. That’s why I docked it one star. I liked the story line and the two main characters, but I would have like to have gotten to know them a bit better. They’re like acquaintances, not friends. With eight other books in the series, I suspect there are some more pretty good stories in there. I’d definitely suggest fantasy readers try a few. Maybe not starting with the 8th one in the series, though they are all standalones. You don’t have to read them in order. Hazel Hunter has several other series and is a rather prolific author, so give her a try.

I really liked Nix, I thought she was adorable, “it’s my key!” she blurted out. Hugh looked at her quizzically. “I mean,” she said, trying to slow down, “it’s the key to the apartment. It’s… um…” She hadn’t rehearsed what to say. “It’s…” I liked this book, I loved Hugh the man was sweet.

Dr. Fitzhugh Colmain came to Cedars-Sinai hospital for the Magus Corps to watch Phoenix. They think she is a rogue witch. Phoenix is a rare necromancer but she knows nothing about the wiccan world or that she is a witch. Then there is a pastor at the hospital who is not what everyone thinks he is. He's a templar but one who has been inaction for a long time. That doesn't stop him from making lots of trouble Wow this was a great story I really loved the characters. I think Hugh is terrific! He's sexy and intelligent. He looks at you as a person and not a thing. He is very discerning and gets right to your core. Phoenix is brave, generous, and cares deeply. I absolutely love their interactions, especially the steamy ones. They are so perfect together. Even though this is part of a series, this book can be read as a standalone, although I recommend you read the others as I really think you will enjoy them all. Another great story by Hazel and her Protector series. This one revolves around Phoenix and Noobie her familiar. Phoenix is able to bring the dead back to life again, and Dr. Hottie Pants Hugh is with the Magnus Corp and is to look after those that are stray's in the Witch world, because they can be a danger to themselves and those around them. What is going to happen when these two collide? Must read to find out, because I never read and tell, but you won't be disappointed. Another great story by Hazel and her Protector series. This is book nine of the Her Warlock Protector series but it is a standalone story. You do not need to read the previous eight first. The whole series can be read in any order you choose without you feeling lost. I loved Hugh! He was fantastic! He and Phoenix together made a great couple. I am looking forward to more by this author. *I voluntarily reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book. This is my honest review.*

A warlock who's a doctor because his gift is healing. A young woman who doesn't understand her gift or the world she should be a part of. A Templar so evil his name spreads fear into Wiccan and Magis Core alike. The interaction between our hero and heroine is heart warming, they both are care givers. The drama is intense and edgy. A great add to a great series. I received this book as an author freebe and have voluntarily chosen to review it here. A warlock who's a doctor because his gift is healing. Hugh and Nix meet when he is investigating to see if she has magical abilities. She is not sure why she can do what she can but she likes to help others. I really liked them as a couple and you definitely felt the chemistry between them right away. There is a lot of action to that make the story exciting to read. You can jump into the series without reading the other books but I recommend you check them out too. I am voluntarily reviewing a copy I received.

The two of them are perfect for each other. Ms. Hunter has such a wonderful gift for storytelling that will just suck the reader in. Once you start reading, you can't stop until it's done. There were elements in this story that made my blood run cold, and that is a good thing. The background story and the world building were that intense. I always do a happy little skipping dance when I find an Author that manages to write an h that I can admire and an H that I can fall for, and all that really takes is that he treats his lady like a lady, with respect. This story ticked all those boxes.... I'm off to read some more! There were elements in this story that made my blood run cold, and that is a good thing. Phoenix doesn't know she is a witch, but she knows she can help people and she does. Together with her dog Anubis (really like the name) Hugh is sent to find out if Phoenix is a witch but he doesn't find what he thought. He is attracted to her and wants to keep her safe. But there is some evil who is after her and him, next to an ex of Hugh who is leading the coven in the town Phoenix lives in. Read with magic, action and romance. I received a copy of this book from the author. I freely leave this honest review. It is a very good read. Unusual combination of a healer and a necromancer set the tone of this one. The use of a standard poodle as a familiar fit really well in the story. Have to say The Professor gave me goosebumps. A truly evil soul.

I receive books from so many places now a days I'm not sure where this came from but it was actually an okay read. We have a young woman who has a gift and no idea what she is and a warlock there to bring her into the craft. It was an interesting story I just wasn't;t a huge fan of her. She had a running problem it was getting on my nerves. I receive books from so many places now a days I'm not sure where this came from but it was actually an okay read. A ROGUE OR NOT? Hugh is the ninth book in the Her Vampire Protector series. This book is a short read. It is a standalone book without a cliffhanger. Violence and hot and steamy sex so definitely 18+. The book blurb adequately describes the storyline so I'm not going to repeat that all of that info here. Hugh is a free book which you can only get from Hazel after signing up for her newsletter. It was a great read a Warlock healer and a necromancer who doesnt even now shes a witch. Although the Hugh falls in love with Nix pretty much from the beginning. Ramon the Pastors and Roxandra's actions are what creates the most havoc and this forces Hugh to do something he has never done in his long life. This book does end on a HEA and can be read with the rest of the series or as a stand alone book. Bes Hugh is a free book which you can only get from Hazel after signing up for her newsletter.
