    I was excited to receive a copy of this book for myself as well as to share with some close friends. If you have ever had an experience with someone with NPD, you probably have struggled with how to heal and move forward. This book discusses the recovery process and how to take care of oneself. Surrounding oneself with positive influences and supporters during that empowerment stage is crucial! This text gives substantial insight into the development of NPD, during early childhood and beyond. Us I was excited to receive a copy of this book for myself as well as to share with some close friends. If you have ever had an experience with someone with NPD, you probably have struggled with how to heal and move forward. This book discusses the recovery process and how to take care of oneself. Surrounding oneself with positive influences and supporters during that empowerment stage is crucial! This text gives substantial insight into the development of NPD, during early childhood and beyond. Useful insight on identifying healthy versus unhealthy relationships is covered as well. If you are a parent or work in any type of counseling setting, you may also find parts of this book relevant as it reiterates common skills and practices such as mirroring and validating. I found myself approaching a recent difficult situation with a child in a different manner (successfully too).

    This was a tough one. It’s dense and there is So Much to process, think of the implications, process again. I put it down and picked it up several times over 8 months. Ultimately I find it extremely helpful and would recommend to those interacting with a narcissist, be it in a family, romantic, work, or general setting.
