Samuel🐺🍆🌋🔪 is the younger brother to Lord Percy, the Earl's inheriting son, but as second son, he's been in the British Navy ⛵ since He was 12 years old. He is in his best Commanders uniform, but He doesn't want to be there. He lives for the sea.🌊 Wandering around the room, Samuel🐺🍆🌋🔪 picks out Lady Amelia Atherton💃💋, the daughter of the Duke of Ely, as being the most beautiful woman at the ball. He wants his brother to pursue her, since as the next Earl of Blackburn, he should be married soon. Then Samuel🐺🍆🌋🔪 won't have to go to any more of these ton dances. Percy challenges Samuel🐺🍆🌋🔪 to cut in front the line of Amelia's suitors, and ask her to dance! Amelia💃💋 dances with Samuel🐺🍆🌋🔪, but as a second son, he's a nobody. Later that night, Percy becomes very ill and thinks he ate bad food at the ball. He nearly dies. A few days later Amelia's father, the Duke, is killed in a carriage accident. Since Amelia💃💋 cannot inherit, her father's title and property go to her Uncle Declan👹, a man her father detested. Going through her father's papers, Amelia💃💋 finds in a hidden compartment, a small book that seems to be nonsense, or written in code. She starts to wonder if her father was murdered somehow, and she needs to find out what the writing means in the book📑! ARC Received from Candid Reviews. I also got The book with KU. This is quite an interesting book📑, being both an historical romance and a murder🔪🔫 mystery! There were places in The book where the character that was speaking or thinking, changed suddenly to another without explanation. Very hard to figure out what was going on for a few paragraphs.

I enjoyed this box set The Music of Love. What is fun about this set is the mystery that is included along with the romance. The characters are great and well developed and a few stand up for themselves which is nice to see. Cowardly women are not find to read. The romance is slow to build and not rushed. The reader will be on the edge of their seat waiting to see what happens.

What a delightful collection. I enjoyed how I could just keep reading the novellas that tell the entire story and did not have to wait for the next to find out what was going to happen. Amelia, once a sought after debutante and accomplished pianist, has been removed to the country after the surprising death of her father. But, not before she shares a dance with Samuel. Not being the sort of gentlemen she is use to, he intrigues her. Samuel's bother, Percival, is poisoned and nearly dies. This even What a delightful collection. This event and the untimely death of Amelia's father makes for a mystery that begs to solved. This is a clean Regency romance that provides us with passionate and strong main characters and sweet and adorable secondary characters, especially Percival and Patience. The mystery kept me guessing and the development of each of the characters kept me engaged. This was my first time reading a complete book by Ms. Thorne. I look forward to exploring her other books!

Super unlikable characters I really loved the other books by this author but can't recommend this one. Both the hero and heroine were the most obnoxious, selfish, prideful and downright rude characters I've ever seen. It wasn't just two spunky and strong willed people exchanging barbs and having sparks flying with their wit. It was just appalling rudeness to each other and everyone around them. I kept thinking it would change and they would mature but it continued the entire book. I kept thinking it would change and they would mature but it continued the entire book. It made for very unpleasant reading. Add to this that plot left unanswered things (how did the brother find the book and get involved In the first place) and seemed a true back story to the rudeness and arguing of the couple, any plot seemed like an after thought. Just stick with the author's other books. They are far better

What a truly delightful boxed set! The journey of Amelia and Samuel had every possible emotion there was lost, fear, doubt, and love adding in danger and intrigue and you have one wonderful group of books. A murder, love and mystery story all rolled up into one. I am truly glad I took the time to read them. I thoroughly enjoyed them and I'd highly recommend set.

Enjoyable read I really enjoyed this novel. The only disappointment I had was there wasn't much getting to know each other of the two main characters. The mystery was their focus with a few kisses mixed in. No sex. Having read Part 1 last year, and posted a review for it, I was fortunate enough to download the whole book and Googling it, I have found out the reason why there was a redundancy in some chapters explaining why Amelia was in mourning thus in black with her limited austere wardrobe, her apparent fall from grace and banishment to the country... all related to the disgrace and reversal of fortune and lifestyle owing to the death of her father and the mess he left behind... if indeed he made a mess Having read Part 1 last year, and posted a review for it, I was fortunate enough to download the whole book and Googling it, I have found out the reason why there was a redundancy in some chapters explaining why Amelia was in mourning thus in black with her limited austere wardrobe, her apparent fall from grace and banishment to the country... all related to the disgrace and reversal of fortune and lifestyle owing to the death of her father and the mess he left behind... if indeed he made a mess and if his death was an accident and not murder... Plus there was also her fake engagement to Commander Beresford that have to be mentioned more than once like a reminder to the reader... SO now I get it. Amelia is both admirable and annoying but then who is Perfect? Only to those who look at them with the eyes of Love and it is not as much as being blind to their faults as in accepting and loving them "warts and all." This book did show a whole person in Amelia ~ strong, nagging, never giving up, sometimes even contentious... but loyal and steadfast when and where it counts.

This is an entertaining and amusing love story with elements of intrigue and suspense. Samuel is amusing, confident and caring. Amelia is condescending, stubborn and bold. Both are snarky and both like to rile people, especially each other. What starts as a bet, turns into a fake betrothal and then into real love. The journey is fraught with intrigue, danger and laughs. It's a captivating story that I couldn't put down. I received a complimentary copy of this book from Candid Book Reviews. Wonderful recency novel to read I always loved a good recency novel and marvel and all the silliness and antics of the TON. No doubt I could never be a society lady but that's what makes a good book....the ability to imagine yourself as part of the story. Thorne never disappoints. Her characters are so believable from the dimwitted debutante to the scandalous rake and everyone in between. Enjoyable, but oh the punctuation and autocorrect errors Thorne writes quite complex characters without sentimentality (the narrative not the characters). The mysteries are ok, but a good proof reader is needed. It does disrupt the narrative to have words misspelt, fair where fare is correct, epilation where epithet is clearly intended, for example. And commas where full stops are required and vice versa.

This book is broken into Parts and then Chapters. Don’t worry. This is a complete book with no cliffhanger. Loved this book. Lady Amelia is something else. I won’t say more about her. I want you to discover her for yourself. I was very surprised about the story because I usually guess how the books progress.

I loved reading Samuel and Amelia's story. I love the fact that the two of them were perfect for each other even though they didn't know it. Two Imperfect People Two Imperfect, headstrong people who were perfect for each other. This romance that portrayed the attitudes of the aristocracy turned out to be a suspense story. Well-written characters and a plot that kept me reading.
