Order of the Lily book 2 is an outstanding continuation from the first book. It jumps right back into the fray from the beginning. I think this one is even better than the first book because the mystery of what has been happening to the Chosen and Seekers is finally falling into place in a wild and interesting way. Audrey finds how unique she is and the importance of the Order and their healing ways. The villains are revealed and surprises abound in this book. I couldn't put this one down. The whole premise of this story is very different and interesting. The world needs healers to bring it back to life and make it thrive again. It is a book of new beginnings from new growth for food, new stations in life for some of the characters, births taking place and making the society stronger. Audrey has grown with all she faces and responsibilities she now has to protect everyone. I was glad to see Hound back and with Audrey. There are many twists and turns in this story but in trying to preserve the Order and Seekers the sacrifice Aubrey and Ace has to make broke my heart. Audrey really at that moment became a true leader sacrificing for the greater good. This book though a fantasy still has elements of romance, love, acceptance, and courage. I enjoyed this book and the end leaves it unfinished and open for more adventure. If you like a good action packed read this one is it, even if you don't usually read fantasy. I received this book from the author for my honest opinion and review.

Order of the Lily by Cait Ashwood I received a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review. Order of the Lily is book 2 in Cait Ashwood's fantasy series. It continues that story of Audrey and the Seekers who work together to rescue a group of women with unique talents for cleansing the tainted earth and growing plants to feed the starving people of their time. Order of the Lily is an excellent read. The dystopian genre is incredibly popular and I've found it to be a little repetitive. The Order of the Lily is a strong follow up to The Seekers, and in fact, I liked it better. The pace of the novel was excellent and I don’t think there was a single section where I didn’t want to know what was going to happen next. It was difficult to put down. It was enjoyable seeing Audrey shed some of the doubt she had in the first book and fully step into her role as First Leaf. I was highly entertained by the antics of Zeche and hope he gets his own story someday. I am looking forward to the adventures of Audrey and her family in the next book. I am very curious to see how the lives of Audrey’s children play out in a world she has redefined.

This series keeps getting better. I really like the dystopian world in this book and the characters are believable. The story is fast paced and always makes you wonder what is going to happen next. Can't wait to read the next book. I volunteered to review an ARC copy of this book. This series keeps getting better. Audrey is determined to rescue the women being held prisoner by a demented enemy. She wants to be part of this mission, but caring for her twins is tiring. To add to her stress her relationship with their father, Ace, is strained. Her heart is drawn to Hound. Will she and this Seeker ever be together? I was drawn to Audrey. She's a charismatic character. She has a strong personality and a burning desire to do good. Hound has lost so much that he's afraid to take a chance. If The Seekers was a coming-of-age tale, then its follow-up, Order of the Lily, is all about what it means to be of age -- and the ugliness and beauty within. Whereas Audrey faced metaphorical adolescence in the first book, the second book is where she, in a sense, reaches adulthood, stepping up to make difficult decisions. For much of the book, those decisions are the typical sort for dystopian fiction. There's a coordinated rescue, uneasy alliances, and Audrey finally being honest with herself If The Seekers was a coming-of-age tale, then its follow-up, Order of the Lily, is all about what it means to be of age -- and the ugliness and beauty within. Whereas Audrey faced metaphorical adolescence in the first book, the second book is where she, in a sense, reaches adulthood, stepping up to make difficult decisions. For much of the book, those decisions are the typical sort for dystopian fiction. There's a coordinated rescue, uneasy alliances, and Audrey finally being honest with herself about who she loves. All this while she's dealing with being a mother of twins and still handling the pressure of being what amounts to this timeline's Chosen One. But then there's the end... and an impossible choice that goes far beyond genre convention of "will they/won't they?" and "who will the heroine be with?" Again, Cait Ashwood carries a deft pen. Her prose is simultaneously easy to read and powerful; so many in this genre go so overboard with the prose that reading becomes a chore, because they spend so much on the prose that they forget what really matters. But Ashwood continues to keep the characters, their feelings and thoughts and motivations, at the forefront. Epic does not have to mean hard to read, and Order of the Lily is a perfect example of that. Order of the Lily is every bit a worthy follow-up to The Seekers, and one would be hard-pressed to finish this one and not immediately clamor for the next installment. Dystopia and fantasy readers alike need this series.

The series just keeps getting better. I am excited book 3 has just been released and .....there will be a book 4 as well! Hard to believe that this is this writers first series, her ability to weave her story and make you part of it is fantastic and this book shows she is still growing and getting even better! I expect to be reading this by this author for years to come.

This one definitely suffered from the "sophomore slump" often experienced in a book series. A lot of words, but not a lot happening. This one definitely suffered from the "sophomore slump" often experienced in a book series. A lot of words, but not a lot happening.
